    Bit the bullet and bagged one at ishop2go, $205 AUD... Not bad, considering I snagged both renewal VF-25s for $200 each.

    Normally I use chrome, but due to internet outages in my area - for the last 4 days and who knows how much longer - I've been using Dolphin HD on my Android. Le sigh. I'll throw in an extra $50 AUD ontop of what anyone paid for one on pre-order, assuming u have a spare one

    The '29 has one colour scheme. The VF-171 has what... 3 or 4 colour/config variants? I think that's what they mean by milking the mold - I'm hoping I can at least get a CF VF-171... I was able to see the 'add to basket' on amiami (last night, in the mad scramble) - but every time i clicked it it'd give me a page load error - so angry!

    Well... Wait for a good price. I've gotten 4 or 5 yammies from eBay, including an SV-51 and a VF-22S for $130 each, including shipping. Both new. Just do ur research and look the buyer's feedback scores.. easy! Constant vigilence if u wanna get a bargain! And patience. If u like I can direct you to the buyers I've used, some more than once.

I can't help but hurriedly open the boxes that come in the mail (Macross or TFs or HLJ, etc...), in the early morning - at the cost of being late to work sometimes Mind providing the linky? I've been flirting with the idea of a low-viz 25S or a CF 25F... If the price is right? Anyways, mark me up as wanting a 171 - yes please!

    Where is that gif... But u know... Yamato... they're a professional company, with years of experience - each new macross release incrementally better than the previous in quality and engineering - I think they know what they're doing, U know, just sayin'... Have faith.

    From just cursory comparisons - looks like the 'off' detailing may be due to the head stripes not tapering down as far as in the line art and also the visor not being as 'open' - looks a little "squinty", here is a quick comparison;

    Personally I like the contrast of the FAST packs, like the S's head... but panel lining it would make it pop. And decaling it too When I eventually get an 17 and these FAST packs, I may paint them a dark grey.

    As far as I know, all the variants have the same cosmetic head features, except the 11D, never seen or heard of a VF-11 S or VF-11A, tho. I did toy with the idea of making the single barrel laser a double barreled one, via shapeways - but pulling the head apart would be a nightmare. There is no way of having lasers on either side of the head as there would be no room, the shoulder mechanisms have less than a millimeter of clearance between them and the head. Regult, I think you're right. My impatience has mucked it up - but its my first real hard core custom, so live and learn! My TV style 1/60 Rau will benefit from all I have learned here.
