Oh don't I know it~!!! I'll say right now - I'm not doing the double seater cockpit or canopy. The D head and associated flaps are still on the very last to do list - like I said, if I can get my hands on a VF-0S - I will make it. The gap fillers between the wing and leg are part of the leg as well as the v-stabs - and like I mentioned before, this too is at the end of the list and I'll be looking at ways around this before I commit to making the new shin. The easiest part will be the wings - and the most fun - so I'll leave that as a treat to myself after the intakes. Hey Smegalot! Digital calipers - where would I be without them!? I recently bought a 1/72 hase kit from HLJ - they're a must for this - as is the kit itself, but unfortunately its not a straight duplication of parts. What u wanna do with ur own project is pretty much how I'd tackle that. Whats a mechanical draftsman do exactly? I've attached a screen shot of a sample of images I'm using for this build, for those that are interested - don't think it gives away too many of my trade secrets... ^___^ I use Maya simply because I've used it for a decade - I work in games dev, but my love is toys and models - so as a good friend told me once; "Always play to your strengths". Thanks again for the compliments - great to see the support from the MW community, I tell ya it seems like I'm working in a void here in my study! Enjoy the not-so-far-along WIP pics - didn't get much time to work on it today.

Had some minor hiccups with the wing clips and HMMs for the VF-11 which have been resolved now. Fixed them up and everything seems to be cool now - I hope. Anyways, the following are now available; - Aileron clip-ons to attach HMMs & pylons to your VF-11B/C (also works with other Yamato 1/60 missiles) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/599630/relampago-wing-adapters-x2.html - HMM and Pylon set (4 pack) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/606932/relampago-missile-amp-pylon-x4.html - HMM and Pylon set (1 pack) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/599616/relampago-missile-amp-pylon-x1.html - Set of 12 hard points (for those adventurous enough that want to glue these onto their valk's wings) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/625101/1-60-set-of-12-6l-amp-6r-hard-points-for-wings.html
-
Ok, all fixed. Open for orders now. I apologize again for the hiccup. Everything should be sweet now.
-
Ok, so I fixed the problem areas - have uploaded to shapeways, but NOT made them available because there is a delay with uploads and I don't want ppl to buy the old version by accident. I will make them available in a few hours (damn... it's 1.20am already?!?!). I have notified Shapeways and they will advise via e-mail all those ppl who ordered them originally. Again, I'm very sorry about the delay. Here, have a cookie; http://www.shapeways.com/model/625101/1-60-set-of-12-6l-amp-6r-hard-points-for-wings.html Reivaj, anime52k8 - you're welcome
-
Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat. Got a rejection e-mail for the wing clips and HMMs from shapeways... on models I had printed before and actually made details bigger after the printing... WTF?! So sorry to the people that ordered them - I will work on the problems asap, see what the hell is going on. Will update as soon as I fix it. Again, my sincerest apologies.

First up; Wings, V-stabilizers (which will be attached to the wings, instead of making an entire new shin), Intakes (for canards) and maybe, just maybe a D-type head - if I can get my hands on another VF-0S, as that'll be an easier paint app than the VF-0A's grey. If the V-stabs look attrocious and I can't pull it off, I'll see if I have enough juice to make the shins. Would you believe this is more difficult than the Rau's organic shapes? Yep. I guess it's casue the parts need to be EXACT in order for all the inter-locking parts to fit properly. This should be the cheapest conversion I have planned (apart from the wing-clips + HMMs).

Lol, I got some potato ringsu - tastes like potato ships. Madness.
-
Ok, no wukkas - might have to print in sets of 6 or 8 - and they'd be pushing the limit of what their minimum print size is - but I will keep it in consideration - after my next project. Or if there is a lull (lol) in the next project.

Thanks Tober! That job wouldn't be bad at all - but it's a 2 hr drive away at least! Plus the date for apps close last week
-
Of course it is - not sure how well some of the details will hold up, however - will will u know once I've received the 1/60 version. For some reason shapeways would not allow WSF Polished, just regular WSF - so it'll require sanding and clean-up before painting.
-
Just sent off a massive order to shapeways - should be here within the month - got the price on the arms down by rearranging the geometry and putting both arms in the one file - needed meshlab to effectively poly reduce to be under 1,000,000 polys. Also added a new experimental waist swivel piece in 2 sizes (2cm & 1.5cm) - not sure about how it'll turn out. Now, time to give the Rau a rest and start my other 1/60 project...

Cheers Jasonc! Yes, I'm about to do a new shipment today - the stuff not for sale is stuff I've yet to inspect in-hand. I don't want u guys to be the guinea pigs I'll post in this thread when those parts are available. Having an issue with the arms and feet - at the moment they're $40 each - which is not acceptable. Actively trying to make these as cheap as possible - so please bear with me. Awesome! Thanks Sluff! Please let me know if u encounter any problems or any suggestions you may have. I don't have a YF-19 so I can't actively and accurately make thing for that - if I see a super cheap one - I will get it... I was instantly in love when the old bird showed up in the last Frontier movie Wink wink nudge nudge. I do, however have a VF-22 That has a few things I wish to fix/augment. Stay tuned for that one too Thanks Eugi! I already mentioned (in the Rau thread) that I will make a back-pack for a Queadluun-Nona conversion - but I never liked the cowl/head design for it - I will however make a head unit based off the Queadluun-Quilqua Battle Suit for the Nona. Perhaps some new arm tri-barrels or boob guns to further differentiate the design from the original 1/60 Rau. Again, open to suggestions for things! Also, while on semester break - I was advised I am no longer employed on a full time basis.... So... more time to make Macross stuff? Hahaha. Good thing I have a very caring and understanding waifu. Now - I've gotten a few e-mails and PMs about what parts are needed for a Rau conversion - let me say this; You DO NOT need ALL the pieces to make the conversion - but some are essential and some are some small details that will be minor details overall. I will now explain ; For a minimum DYRL to TV conversion, you will need; - Head Unit - http://www.shapeways...-head-unit.html - Shoulder Missile Hub set - http://www.shapeways...es-tv-type.html - Knee Missile Hub set - http://www.shapeways...ile-hub-x2.html - Left & Right Forearm & Hand set - http://www.shapeways.com/model/609505/hembra-xeno-mech-forearm-and-hand-l-amp-r-set.html (This is the best I could do, managed to whittle down some $$$ on this set) - Feet & Ankle set - http://www.shapeways...ch-foot-x2.html The extras (not essential) & explanations; - Antennae (A DYRL style, TV inspired antennae) - http://www.shapeways...h-antennae.html - Pauldrons (Clip-on TV style shoulder armour) - http://www.shapeways...h-pauldron.html - Back-pack Greebles (Parts to insert into the thrusters and a piece to glue onto the upper back) - http://www.shapeways...s-backpack.html - Weapon Greeble (Slightly different style tri-barrel wrist guns, was worried the default ones would be a bit tight & new TV accurate Boob-guns) - http://www.shapeways...es-weapons.html - Back-pack and Weapon greeble set (above 2 sets in one set to save money) - http://www.shapeways...h-greebles.html - Waist extension piece (2 sizes - experimental pieces to give a bit of height and allow side to side twist) - http://www.shapeways...twist-test.html - Single set of Hands (If you only want to fix your floopy & droopy originals) - http://www.shapeways...pulator-x2.html - Impact Cannon (From M.Frontier; Q.Rhea & New Zentran type - comes with parts to allow wing pylon & rifle grip attachments) - http://www.shapeways...cto-cannon.html - Impact Cannon Hub (Piece to replace 1 shoulder missile hub to allow a Impact Cannon to be installed (L or R side) on your Rau) - http://www.shapeways...cannon-hub.html Please note the Feet and Arms will be constantly updated and all over the place today as I try different things to bring down the cost. I hope this clears up any confusion! EDIT: Rearranged the feet for a better print - but could not reduce the price no matter how hard I tried - the Arm Set now has both arms and also rearranged to take approx $15 off this. Just sent off the MASSIVE order! Should be here within the month - barring any issues - and will update in the separate custom threads. Weeeeeeee!

Hey everyone! Just wanted people who don't frequent the Building/Customizing Macross Models & Toys section of the forums to be aware that slowly but surely - items I've made and produced from Shapeways.com are becoming available to you. This started initially as my own custom pieces meant just for me - but as the items grew in ambition and complexity, I thought it a waste if no one else got the chance to have these in their collection. As mentioned above they came about in 2 of my own threads customizing a Queadluun Rau and a VF-11C; http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=35459 & http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=36209 - shapeways pieces and WIP at the end of the threads. Currently I've finished 99% of my DYRL to TV Queadluun Rau conversion pieces - with only a new hip/waist articulation to go and have finished wing-clip attachments for VF-11s to allow attachments of any current 1/60 missiles and the freshly made HMMs. I have also completed a 1/60 Queadluun Rhea Impact Cannon and pieces to attach to a Q.Rau and for a VF-25 to use as a rifle. More items will become available as I get them and inspect them personally for detail fidelity and material properties to ensure the best product possible. They are available here; http://www.shapeways.com/shops/RPG Without giving too much away - expect much more love for the VF-11, VF-0 and Zentran Mecha. I am open to suggestions or requests - but they're subject to my work load. I will update this thread when items become available. I will continue the above custom threads with the build-ups and eventual completions in their respective threads. Peace! EDIT: Trying to add a poll!

Got mine the other day - my VF-0A has come back to life! Thanks so much
-
Heads-up - the Head Unit is available now! http://www.shapeways.com/model/600622/hembra-xeno-mech-head-unit.html Some more test photos, thanks to my shitty camera phone; A bit hard to see the detail on the WD (first image) and I'd suggest WSF polished for the final product. I modified the geometry to make the lower face plate sit a bit lower to reveal more of the inner bottom eye lip and the vertical panel line that circles the face has been made a bit wider. Enjoy!

I like BIG-BUTS and I cannot lie - you other pilots can't deny - that when a Valk flies in - with an itty-bitty waist and a back-pack in your face - you get SPRUNG!

Some more photos (sorry about the crappy camera phone) of the add-ons in Battroid. I'll stop spamming photos, I swear - but these puppies make the VF-11 look even sweeter!

Yes. I want 2 at the very least, planning already to make a custom head for it - as seen elsewhere on the interwebz. Just need it in hand for measurements!!! But yeah - this valk is pure deliciousness.

Anime52k8 - yeah, they turned out pretty good - some slight cleaning up and filing made them perfect. WSF is good, but the WD was too brittle and the HPs broke. I've tweaked the model a bit for the clip-on, and when I send thru another order it'll be WSF polished for sure. I could do that... the part you outlined - would be really easy to do. Maybe if enough MW members are interested. I have also considered the full wing replacement (and funny you should mention it; making a wing now, just not for this valk) but I'm not too keen on getting the exact colour matching... any ways, watch this space It'll have to wait until my other projects are wrapped up - or as a change of pace when I'm knee deep in the other stuff I'm working on.
-
Please note - I did NOT sand these at all, these are straight up primer sprays. The WD will need far less work. HMMs work on other VFs with hard points; Herp a derp.

Shield adapters are a go; http://www.shapeways...s-x3-types.html Wing clips are a go; http://www.shapeways...dapters-x2.html Set of 4 HMMs & pylons are a go; http://www.shapeways...p-pylon-x4.html Set of 1 HMMs & pylons are a go; http://www.shapeways...p-pylon-x1.html EDIT/UPDATE: Both sets of hands are now live: http://www.shapeways.com/model/611208/relampago-hands-action-knife.html http://www.shapeways.com/model/611212/relampago-hands-dynamic.html If they're the same plug size as the YF-19, then these will work on them too. The default material on each item is my suggestions after playing around with them - I find the WD to be smoother and keeps the details better than the WSF which is far stronger and resilient - but needs sanding and what not to be come paint ready. Going to try and order some WSF polished and see how that turns out. All above models have had details slightly exaggerated and structural geometry added or increased to make it all a bit stronger. Let me know how your purchases go - I'll be sanding the wing clips tomorrow and see if I can salvage them (WD are broken and WSF has waaay too much layering or stepping). Coming soon - some photos of the HMMs in action and with 1 coat of tamiya primer.

Click on the shapeways link in my sig - nothing is available yet, updating the models for stronger print outs - as some pieces were too fragile or details not big enough - updating them as I type this, so expect the models to go for sale in about an hour or so - will advise once they're up. All pieces will require paint to finish off - in fact I have the HMMs and Pylons drying in the sun with primer. Update on the WD HMM with bent/warped wings - hot water does the trick of straightening them out~!!!
