  1. Sweet Thanks for being a supporter of my wares! I'm certain it'll be cheap - the killer is postage. Every order for me is $25USD... American buyers get a much cheaper rate and I guess Norway and surrounds too? So whenever I order, I make sure I get a bunch of stuff - or wait until I have made a bunch of stuff. But now flicking through Kawamori's design works and the Macross Mecha Manual... I find myself passively designing a partial-dorsal super pack for the 4G... Someone say it'll never work/sell
  2. A mini update - trying to sneak this in between freelancing! I tapered the laser slightly and added some panel lines - what do you guys reckon? Just to break up the surface a bit. 3/4 Front and back; Aaaand ortho views
  3. The stock visor is glued tight on my copy - so I'm making a new visor, I'll experiment with FUD maybe - I've seen impressive transparency with it, but my main plan is to paint the new visor green and gloss coat it separately and then glue it on.
  4. Whoop whoop wut wut! Cool! I think, if they come off easily - you should shave a slight angle so the pylons are perpendicular to the ground - but otherwise - sick!
  5. Thanks fellas! I'll get back to this project (making a new hybrid 'D' style head and actually paint it) after I finish my VF-4G Head unit side project;
  6. At this point - its going to mighty fiddly to try and get it to move on a single axis swivel - interferes with the screw shaft and I can't move that too much around. I think I may just worry about that last, if at all. Yep - WSF+Polished of F/UD fo sho. You'll need to paint her up! I did buy a 1/100 VF-2SS kit with the intention - but the time is not now So little update;
  7. Thanks fellas! Here is a little more progress - the small laser/bulge is very quick and hacky at the mo - just getting a feel for detail size - and the second pic shows possible movement if I make it adjustable - it can go about 5 degrees further into the head unit to almost hide it - thoughts?

    Vf-0 vs SV-51

    Errrgh - yep, both good choices. Wings can be a little flimsy on the 51 and both suffer from loosening joints. Both are definitely not the same in terms of engineering and tightness tolerances of the newer valks - but both are gorgeous You know.., I really want a CF 51...
  9. And so it begins... This is going to be tricky - a lot more slight curves and subtle surfaces than I first thought - let see how far this goes
  10. The VF-1 should just go without saying... J-type if you want to be specific... But my all time, hands-down, every time fave Valkyrie is the VF-11B. Every time. Love the utilitarian and aggressive silhouette of battroid, it's elegant and animalistic (don't forget functional!) gerwalk and finally the fighter's sleek and sharp body that clearly carries the Valkyrie DNA. Plus it has a knightly shield and bayonet :-)
  11. So I decided to try something a little different and make my 4G more of a generic in-service valk. Just a simple coat of tamiya matte white on the nose cone - plan to take more cues from a CF VF-1 for white surface paneling, I think I'm also going to take the jolly roger off and use the scorpion decal from the 1/72 VF-11 kit. I also took EXO's advice and painted the beam cannons chainmail-silver. With and without flash;
  12. MacrossJunkie - this gives me maaaad bonerfication. Amazing.
  13. Wowza - trying to steer this mood around; I too after a beer late last night, decided to e-mail Scott - his response was as informative as it was humorous and courteous. I may have mentioned that I, and I quote "gots the Macross fever bad."... But yeah - hate to have seen his inbox after this fiasco... Lol. I wonder how many ppl just from this forum alone e-mailed him.
  14. Duuuuuuuuuuude, duuuuuuuuuude. It's SO beautiful...
  15. Visit Veef's shop to get the replacement parts for the shoulders; http://www.shapeways.com/model/566409/fighter-variable-zero-right.html?li=productBox-search And visit my shop to get the C/D conversion parts; http://www.shapeways.com/model/777967/fenix-trainer-conversion-kit-a-type.html?li=productBox-search (no head-unit yet) Some assembly & painting required...
  16. A sharp blade and patience. Don't rush the cuts. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes stickers and decals, too. I agree with Wm Cheng - love seeing what other people's ideas and schemes result in.
  17. Doesn't mean I can't make one for myself, no?
  18. They're the little removable flap on the underside in fighter mode - and split in half to allow the thigh to move down for gerwalk. I'd replicate this and add a hard point to allow missile attachment between the nacelle and the centre-line - on both sides.
  19. Thanks Eugimon - I can confidently say I'm going to make the head-unit, and the thigh-panel w/hard point - but not replacement main wings, they're not easily removable. This thing is pretty sexy.
