  1. Just curious, since you know, about how much does it cost to commission a custom?
  2. NOW quake in fear of its awesomeness!
  3. Maybe more people would quake in fear, if that loose airbrake was secured.
  4. Looks nice! Just one thing, the number on the wing doesn't match the one below the pilot. DOH!
  5. chirp. . . chirp. . . chirp. . . LMAO! And now the MPC fast packs to the rescue! The reason I've chosen to post on this is that I believe anyone who would recommend an MPC is doing a disservice to anyone new to valkyrie toys. It's one thing to say, "I disagree with others, and I like the MPC, because. . ." It's another thing to say it is superior in respects that it clearly is not. I happen to like the Chevrolet Corvair; however, I think I would be doing a disservice by recommending it as a good car to someone who doesn't know what they're in for. I think they're cool, but they have a definite track record for reliability/safety problems. My point: it is absurd to try to argue that the VF-1 equivalent of the Corvair is good. BTW, anyone got a side-by-side comparison of the MPC fast packs next to the Yamato's?
  6. Thanks, for taking the time to explain, in detail; there are those of us who really appreciate knowledgeable input on science fiction fantasy (i.e. could this really work in real life?).
  7. Oh, here we go again! So what if this guy doesn't own an MPC? Anyone with half a bit of brain can look at the picture of one (and read the price tag) and judge for themselves that it just plain sucks. In this thread, readers have the benefit of a side-by-side comparison pic with a Yamato 1/48. You probably don't think it's a fair comparison, so why don't you post some good pics of your MPC with what you think is a fair comparison? I can hear the crickets chirping already.
  8. Don't be disappointed, because the "head part" does not transform into another small airplane. The cockpit and nose section does separate, but doesn't make a "small airplane." If you think about it, if this feature was incorporated into the 1/48, there would probably be lots of complaints about the part falling out.
  9. Somehow, I don't think you'll get off so easily.
  10. Congrats, once again! Definitely post up the pics with the Valkyries on deck!
  11. AOL sucks! If anyone else isn't seeing the Spring 2004 updates, minimize AOL and use Internet Explorer.
  12. Thanks, but refreshing doesn't seem to be working for me. All I get is the Winter 2004 at the bottom of the page.
  13. OK. Nobody ever accused me of being smart, but where is the line art and white SV-51? I'm only seeing the VF-0 across two pages and a low-vis model VF-1.
  14. Actually, the line reads, "Skull-1 to Delta-1. . ."
  15. Those re-colorings rock! I hope y'all post up some more.
  16. I hope you find your PM box being flooded with replies "acceptable!"
  17. I'd say it's better news than $300 on e-bay!
  18. Oh, and welcome, newbie!
  19. Yeah, the "Hi, I'm new" threads don't usually last long. Newbies are encouraged to just post a thread on a topic they like (or dislike) and include a "by the way, I'm new here" somewhere in there. Of course I remember posting a "Newbie thread," when I joined. I really don't see the harm in the introduction threads, because there's usually not much going on in the Macrossworld forums. I've been on boards where moderators had to constantly combat "post whoring," where the same person would reply every minute or so (or start a whole new topic altogether). I haven't seen that, here.
  20. I disagree with the "waste of time, effort, and bandwidth" part, but maybe this Hurin character will let me join his debate club. Anyway, somebody is always going to be new to a product most of us are familiar with, and just because it was a thread topic, last month, doesn't mean it is off limits, now. I don't really see the harm; it's not like new thread topics pop up every few seconds, like on some message boards. Oh yeah, I happen to like the "bloodletting," too.
  21. LOL! I still say, if you are somewhat indifferent, get whatever one you can find on discount!
  22. If you have patience, you can always mask the tailfins and paint the rising sun on it. Base white coat, let it dry, mask with negative circle and stripes, paint red, let dry, and peel off the tape. Walla... might want to practice on something first to test your masking skills. I did trace the VF-1 tail onto a piece of paper and did a pencil sketch of the Sundowner tail scheme; however, I just couldn't get the desired effect, since the VF-1 has a cutout on the tail that the F-14 Tomcat does not. Anyway, I decided to go with the solid red in case I wanted to put the skull-and-crossbones decal on the tails. Oh, and here's the lighter background you suggested.
  23. Pic.
