    VF-X2

OK, got "Forward View" to work. I think I had "Control" set to "Arcade" rather than "Simulator" before. With "Simulator" setting and "Forward View" activated, I get forward view during gameplay. I'm sure I'm going to need a lot more help with this game. Thanks in advance for help.

    VF-X2

I'm having trouble with the controls in this game. I looked through a few old VF-X2 threads and read enabling "Forward View" helps. My problem is I can't get the forward view to work -- I enable it in the menu, then start the game and don't have it, only "Target" and "Missle" views. Also, will someone explain what "Arcade" and "Simulator" control settings and "Forward View" actually do? Thanks in advance for any help.
  3. I agree with you; it should be well trimmed and tight.
  4. I've suspected the parts in question were stressed before transformation but had no proof, until you and mcpaz posted up. To me, with benefit of Graham's video guide, Yamato's how-to pictures, and numerous posts on the subject, writing this problem off as a few people who just can't transform their toys right didn't seem right.
  5. Just so we all understand you fully, when you say "stayed in Fighter Mode," do you mean your -19 has never been transformed? Or, did you notice the stress marks after your first transformation?
  6. In case anybody cares, my Japanese PS2 slim (which I just opened) has a "brick" with "AC Adaptor" and "8.5 V" on it.

    VF-1S Hikaru

    Uh-oh. 1/60 scale enthusiasts gathering picks and torches in 3. . . 2. . . 1
  8. I know this member already posted "Yes," but a picture would probably help more than one member on here. Admittedly, it isn't really obvious to push in to lock the piece in question into the small bumps.
  9. Just for the record, my plea to not rant/bash was not directed at any member personally. I know you've got a reputation to protect , but I just didn't want this thread closed as a result of "Yamato sucks, just cuz" type posts. Thank you for posting your experience and the date -- there are at least a couple of members who think this might be a "bad batch" thing.
  10. Just what we need, another -19 thread. Anyway, I'd like to address the primary, big, debilitating, sorrow-inducing, major problem experienced by some -- the fuselage problem. I posted a picture of what to look for in Graham's review thread, but I suspect it will escape some, as the thread has grown to 50 pages as of now. I hope this thread is allowed to remain, not to induce panic or Yamato-bashing, but to inform. I hope this is helpful. If you have stress marks (or a break), please post up so that we can find out how widespread this is -- hopefully we only have a few, isolated cases; also please include when (approximate date) you ordered or received your impaired -19. For those that have a -19, here's what to look for: white stress marks under the black screw heads.
  11. That's a relief. I just ordered a slim PS2 console for myself.

    VF-1S Hikaru

I never get tired of reading these my_first_valk threads; they make me think of when I got my first, well, Valkyrie, that is. Anyway, my first Yamato 1/48 scale VF-1 was the Hikaru -1S, so I hope you enjoy, as I still proudly display mine. I would suggest the Super/Strike parts and Takatoys' stickers -- you'll be glad you did.
  13. This is an interesting point -- something to consider. I hope you're wrong, and I'm sure you hope you're wrong for all our sake.
  14. Where it should be -- it's Roy, after all.
  15. The whole thread addresses different issues -- the fuselage stuff is on page 3.
  16. Check out page 3 of this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=21130
  17. Will the Japanese PS2 play Japanese PS1 games? The answer to my question seems obvious, but I'd like to know if Japanese PS1 games (specifically VF-X1 and 2) can be played by simply loading the game discs into the PS2.
  18. For Yamato's how-to-transform pictures, look on page 24 of this thread. Is there a white stress mark on Yamato's -19, right under the black screw head?
  19. This is specifically what to look for; notice the white stress lines just under the screw head. I'd encourage all who have -19s to have a quick look -- hope this helps. Graham, perhaps you can have Yamato take a look.
  20. Just so we're all on the same page, the gray areas with the screws in them are the parts in question. The first picture is on my first, properly functioning -19 as it now sits; in other words, this is how yours should look. The second picture shows where the stress mark, or break, will occur, so everyone with one of these can take a look by simply moving the part just forward of the nose gear bay down. Note: even with proper transformation, the gray parts do see alot of stress, as the hinge pulls on them. Also visible are the square pegs some members have chosen to file down. These pegs push against the gray parts. Hopefully, this clears some things up for those who are confused.
  21. Some-19s seem to be more difficult than others. I noticed a distinct difference between my two -19s. One theory is a bad batch. I got my first before Christmas and my second just recently -- don't know if there's anyting to this theory.
