  1. Hey, sympathize with me. My VF-0S trully does not have any broken arm pieces, nor does it have any stress marks, so I think the whole VF-0 arm thing has been blown way out of proportion. Nothing bad has happened to mine, so anyone who posts up about problems with their VF-0 is obviously exaggerating. I haven't had problems with mine, so would members please quit making mountains out of molehills with this?
  2. Well, there you have it -- you (thankfully) haven't had any problems. Members should just shut up about it.
  3. What does the toggle switch with the flip-up cover do?
  4. The availability of fast packs makes me like these a lot more.
  5. The sky has been falling and the end has been coming for some time now; reports of toy breakages across the world are but one sign.
  6. True, but it doesn't look well considering the VF-0 problems. Also, look at how this thing broke -- not really easy to say "owner error" like in the case of a busted BP8 (IMO).
  7. I'm at the brink of voting after seeing the busted YF-19 shoulder in this thread: YF-19 Shoulder I've read the word "troll" used in a previous post in this thread, but I will say I'm finding it easier to relate to those who are (hyper)critical of Yamato's Macross offerings.
  8. The bad news is you will not get much support for a "support service." However, the good news is you won't (or shouldn't) need it. I'm not sure which "flaws" you've been reading about, but I can say the "Stealth" doesn't suffer from the annoyances which plagued the 1/48 scale Valkyries released before the first issue Max type VF-1A Valkyries.
  9. I recognize the blue one as my first VF-1 Valkyrie, sort of. Mine was the blue Convertors one with gold painted canopy-- still have it, but missing the gunpod and one arm.
  10. With 50 pages of this thread, I'm not sure if I've posted pics of this one. Not the most complicated of poses, but still good enough to punk out your average Zentran.
  11. This kicks ass! Very nicely done -- stand and all.
  12. It's been a while since I've been able to visit this site. I'm glad to see people are still getting creative in this thread.
  13. Sorry to read about your shoulder break. If I'm current on this, your's is the second arm issue for the -19 (IIRC the first was a VF-0 type break.).
  14. Actually, my fuselage did break off -- sorry if I was unclear or if things just got muttled in all the replies. The problem with my -19 is not merely an unsightly stress mark problem. I've attached a picture to show what part gets released as a result of one of the gray plastic pivot pieces cracking and breaking at the screw. To be clear, I do not keep posting up to speak badly of this toy in particular or Yamato, nor am I complaining to the masses. I believe my problem to be the worst case scenario. Rather that merely stating, "this could happen," I included pictures of the problem, and hopefully we'll discover a solution. Graham, thanks for not closing the thread.
  15. My intent with including the word "MAJOR" (in all caps) was to keep the thread free of "my gunpod is crooked," "my landing gear isn't right, " or "not enough panel lines" type gripes. To me, these are not major problems. However, fuselage or shoulder breaking off is a major problem, at least to me.
  16. Thanks for posting the pictures of the Haydonites. These will confirm that Sharon Apple and Hal (from 2001, A Space Odyssey) in fact had a love child, then pissed on it.
  17. do not disturb = a kinder, gentler haterist. Back on topic, I used Tamiya "TS-6 Matt Black"-- you can cheat and use a little overspray on the surrounding areas to blend the different textured/appearing blacks.
  18. Don't be shy. Members love the pictures, so think of it as a way of contributing. Oh, and I'm a big fan of this pose -- I don't care who gets mad; I'm quoting it anyway.
  19. I don't babysit this thread for a few hours and look what happens. This went from a "got problems here, and got my -19 on such-and-such date" thread to seemingly emotional exchanges. Oh well, I'm not mad. I do realize that people have strong feelings about expensive toys breaking on them. I wasn't happy about my -19 breaking. This may seem odd (or plain stupid) to many, but knowing what I know about the -19, I'd have still bought one and fixed it -- I like it that much. I hope this thread stays open so others can know what to look out for when buying a -19. Also, as the title of the thread suggests, I disagree with Graham that this is a "minor" problem; I believe the posted pics by a few members of broken parts which allow the fuselage to become detached from the rest of the -19 is a major problem. Luckily, most seem to have the stress marks rather than the breakage, and I hope this thread has been of some help, as it's better to discover the problem early and not have to repair the break.
  20. Actually, I was having fun with the word "hatin", or "hate'n" as it was posted by another member in protest of a another member's replies. I believe the original reply read something like "shuddup you are just hatin." Sorry if anyone took offense.
  21. While I'm inclined to agree, I posted my comment as a courteous reminder that I started this thread to bring the problem(s) to light -- mission accomplished. I did not want this thread to turn into an all out b!tch-fest and get deleted or dismissed by those who do not like to read negative things about Yamato. Maybe someone should start the official Yamato b!tch-fest thread and see how long it goes. It won't be me.
