  1. I thought you had a plan already -- it's going to be a real pain without the Super Nove scheme decals. edit: I am as anxious as everyone else to see this blue Super Nova scheme. Keep the progress pics coming.

I wish I had the skill to create a fast pack set for the Bandai VF-17; has anyone made (or begun to make) a set?
  3. That blue works pretty well as far as I can tell with the lighting in your pic.
  4. $hithead is what I'm usually called. Oh well, that's mom for ya. By my post, I didn't mean to suggest that you are a jerk -- sorry if you took any offense.
  5. I'm glad you got what you wanted. Cheers!
  6. If it's like Rock Band, you can get a couple of other jerks to go on missions with you! "Listen to my song!" I'm sure the neighbors would murder me if I had such a thing.
  7. It would look even better with the rear landing gear canted out properly.
  8. I can do without getting this included with the price.
  9. Hmmm. Should I pop for one of these?
  10. If she's a curly headed lady with a white with blue stripes color scheme, then I know her.
  11. I've used Gundam marker over Tamiya brand spray paints many times -- doesn't hurt anything. However, cleanup (when the phone rings and you go outside the panel line) is easier with a coat of Future (an acrylic floor finish). Any Gundam marker will wipe off easily with a paper towel sprayed with some blue glass cleaner, like Windex brand, on the glossy Future coat. After using the Gundam marker, you can seal it in with a flat coat.
  12. Thanks for the pics. I like the new Camaro, but I like the Challenger more. I still want to see one in white, though. Also, my preference will strongly depend on the aftermarket support for each car. For the $40K price range pony/muscle (as opposed to sports) car, the Shelby 500 is tough to beat -- this is assuming one is not paying a "market adjustment" over the sticker price. Of couse, I use the term beat in regard to when-the-light-turns-green-b.s.-stopping performance. The Shelby 500's typcially make about 430 to 440 rear wheel horsepower, from the factory. I'm acquainted with a gentleman who had a cold-air induction (a pipe and cone filter), axle-back exhaust, and a custom dyno tune making 505 rear wheel horsepower. Pullies add more, and supercharger compressor swaps add even more. . .
  13. LOL @ David Hingtgen. I know plenty of people like you, when it comes to color. Luckily for me, my project isn't automotive paint. Close enough works for me on a weather beaten combat aircraft. Here's a fun game to play: how many different aircraft grays do you see in the pics I've posted. Note to other members: David Hingtgen is our forum's reigning champ when it comes to "Name Those Colors." I'm with you on the TOY emphasis. I don't know if you've addressed this area, or not, but the back of the battroid shoulder is prone to minor paint scraping (the bottom black colored part of the shoulder).
  14. Kowalski no like.
  15. I haven't seen the new Challenger in solid white. Maybe I'll grow some long sideburns and wait.
  16. I can't wait to see more. Since you've got your paints out, why don't you go ahead and make me a VF-X Ravens scheme (the blue VF-19A from VF-X2).
  17. Lots of fudging and smudging.
  18. The new Challenger is ugly -- I love it. I would so drive one of these (in addition to what I have, now), but $40K? Yikes. Sort of off topic, with the new Camaro and Challenger impending arrivals, there's been much talk about how the wanna-be-fastest-on-the-block Mustang drivers getting nervous; well, I'm not nervous at all. Hey, sqidd, are you nervous? I wonder If growing a mullet would get me a discount at the dealership. edit: mileage check, 47K on the odometer.
  19. It's possible I recall the color name wrong, but I'm fairly sure I recall it right. Camouflage gray isn't a perfect match, but with all the dirtying up, it's not an issue.
  20. I like this chart: Size comparison chart
  21. Think of things from this perspective: a typical Zentran soldier is tall enough to stand with his face at the VF-1 canopy shield. The VF-0 is way overkill, keeping in mind the whole reason for a battroid is to fight hand to hand with these soldiers. Also, the SDF-1 can hold a lot more of the smaller VF-1 than it can a variable fighter the size of the VF-0.
  22. The VF-1 is considerably smaller than the VF-0; in 1/60 scale the VF-1 toy will be big enough, but not anywhere near the behemoth the VF-0 is.
  23. Maybe "irreplaceable" is a little exaggeration. I do know that some of the decals I used are from discontinued decal sheets.
  24. That's cool. Thanks for posting the pic.
  25. I think I'm going to make a couple of minor changes -- I'm still scratching my head about Tamiya brand Gunship Gray and Gunship Gray 2. Anyway, here's a work-in-progress battroid pic:
