Anyone know where I can still find the 1/3000 unassembled kit for a reasonable price. HLJ is out of stock now and they seem to be the only site that carried it. Otherwise eBay it is...

Didn't notice, then again that wasn't what I was looking at. ;-) But seriously, looks okay to me...though I'm probably used to looking at slightly larger headed anime figures anyway.

Me too. Then I saw that Angolz is selling the 17S for $7 cheaper. But I picked up another 19S as well, which was cheaper at HKCollectibles than Angolz, so I guess that evens it out.

LOL, as much as I find that answer funny, I think it's partly true. Just throwing this out there, but I wonder what is the age demographic that purchase these "elite" toys (more than one, multiples, etc.)? Those of us (I consider myself kind of a Macross hoarder as well) that buy these toys probably grew up with Macross, that said, we're probably into our late 20's / 30's (or older) where we're in a position with a career and financial stability. Now, compare that with those who consider the above "elitists" or "complain" about pricing - how many falls within this group that are still going to school / just getting out of school? Someone mentioned earlier about blue collar workers not being able to afford these toys - I don't think that's true in this day and age. There are many blue collar occupations that earn more than white collar occupations. So it is really dependent on one's career / financial income / sacrifice for this hobby. I've been on this forum for awhile and haven't seen anyone act like an ass or an elitist.

Received my 17D today as well, I have to say I was really surprised by the weight of it. Definitely has a fighter bomber vibe with this thing. It also looks much better in person, pics really don't do it justice. From the pictures, the lack of tempo printing and decals look really boring, but holding it in my hands it doesn't feel that way at all. Really hoping the Milia 17S will become a reality.

Yamato released a number of larger scaled "action figures/dolls" in the past, wouldn't be surprised if Hikaru ended up something like this (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/13785) - toy wise, not boob wise. would be cool if they released a cockpit to go along with the figure. Maybe the Alto EX-Gear figure will finally have a friend? lol

I have to disagree on the comment about Max Factory not being respectable (enough). They come out with lots of great figures and quality are top notch more often than not. I concur about the pricing, however, I don't think it would be 30,000 JPY. My 1/5 Mai Shiranui cold cast figure by Alpha Max didn't even cost that much. Even GSC's Love is War (DX version) Miku with the giant base was under 14k JPY.
