  1. The canard colors don't match up---the "display cut-outs" all have red stripes, regardless of valk colors. The new one showing the variant types has "color-coded" stripes on the canards. Wonder which is correct. Also---would *love* a bunch of VF-31A's, and for them to be the mid-season replacement/upgrade----but being an older variant, that's unlikely. Hmmn, maybe Mirage's "grandma Milia" etc can show up in a bright red VF-31A...
  2. This. Any other pod will come with a super-parts set etc. I'm betting on each valk having a unique color-coded parts set, with its own unique pod. (except 03, which will have to come with its radome to begin with).
  3. No flightsuit Mirage fanart yet? Disappointed. (Though actually, I'm sure there's already some on the Japanese boards, I just don't know where/how to check).
  4. Which is what I've been hoping for since she was very first revealed...
  5. I assume Japanese sizing though. Anyone know how Cospa stuff fits?
  6. If when Bandai makes a true YF-19 (VF-19Adv isn't close enough), I'll likely sell my Arcadia. (if they can just tweak the shield and wingroot gaps a little, it'd make it certain)
  7. A local comic shop had a huge store-wide back issue sale---most were $1. I picked up 14 back issues of IDW, and so am now almost totally caught up. Going to go to their other location tomorrow, and see if I can snag the last few I need. $1 issues, right now, is a lot better than waiting until March and May for the next TPB's and paying $20 each.
  8. The engine nozzles on the Disney one look like tubes, not cones. Is that right? I just came across this pic: http://www.modelermagic.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/KG_AVENGER_STUDIO_MODEL-113.jpg And the bow is nothing but a butt-load of battleship/cruiser turrets, layered on each other. With a bridge/conning tower or two. (at first glance, looks kinda German, maybe some American stuff in there) I bet there's a Bismarck kit (or 10) in the original model. Going a bit further along the sides of the bow, I see even more conning tower platforms---like where the directors and AA mounts would be, but flipped upside down. (there's a couple like that right in the very tip of the bow too, but they're more obvious along the sides). I darn-near want to say Iowa/South Dakota-class parts there. http://www.modelermagic.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/KG_AVENGER_STUDIO_MODEL-032.jpg
  9. I think Bandai's being very smart here---this is a good way to squadron-build. Few people will both have the money, and be willing to spend it, on acquiring a half-dozen 1/60 DX's. But 540 yen each? You can easily have the whole squadron.
  10. Me! But that was more than enough "govt aliens conspiracy" stuff to absorb, even for a fan. Can't imagine they'd gain many new fans with an opening like that--probably scared them off. Waiting for "monster of the week" eps. (when you've only got 6 episodes, you don't have a lot of time to try to wrap up the whole series-long conspiracy arc, nor should you try)
  11. They do love their J-model designations. I wonder if it's mainly due to being the "standard hero variant" in Macross now, or if it's still intended to homage/denote Japan, as the original VF-1J and F-15J do. (J isn't a very common model designation---only ones I can think of real-world are F-15J (where the VF-1J designation almost certainly comes from), P-38J, F-4J, and F-8J. For the P-38, F-4 and F-8, there simply were that many variants. But for the F-15J, it's really just to denote Japan-built ones. (F-15J's are really F-15C's built by Mitsubishi).
  12. But that doesn't retroactively name the prototypes. YF-17 is the Cobra, not the Hornet. (true, the YF-21 and VF-22 differ much less than YF-17 vs F-18, but far less can cause a name change--see the F-5 family for good examples----or F-111 and A-6 families)
  13. Of course, there's the "barely known" ones between Komilia and Mylene, but I'd rather she be the daughter of a "known" Jenius. (No way is she Emilia's, IMHO)
  14. Re: ratchets. Rarely do elbows bug me, but "outwards hip motion" often does. Good example is Leo Dux. (and thus, Feral Rex). Legs together--too close, calves nearly touching, looks odd. But put each leg one click out--extreme A-stance, almost doing the splits. Also looks odd! Really needs a "one-half click out" possibility.
  15. That's such a simple thing to do---that Bandai will surely not do it for the regular releases, but will instead pack them in with an expensive Tamashii exclusive bundle full of stuff you don't want.
  16. I don't think so. The numbers indicate original planned order of release of the figures, but don't imply a continuous comic story. PS----Mike, did you get batteries to light up Rex's visor?
  17. MP Tracks: Yes, knees are loose. Easy fix though, see here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutorials-how-tos/1055985-mp-25-masterpiece-tracks-loose-knee-leg-fix.html In short---slip a little sliver of plastic under the pawl-piece. Note that the instructions are based around not actually taking the legs apart, but merely "loosening them up so that all the parts move out of the way, to provide access to the interior"---which is actually much easier than removing then replacing plarts. Your goal is to swing the outer part of the shin around, revealing the ratchet mechanism. Front bumper is INSANELY tight. I spent half an hour with an xacto knife the first time very carefully prying it apart, then sanded all around it. And it's STILL really really tight.
  18. The cannon I mentioned for Leo is the core of the combiner cannon, and it is arm-mounted, so if you really want something hand-held you need to go aftermarket.
  19. Oh yeah, forgot to give you a heads-up--- it seems that the Nero Rex repaint, and all re-releases of Leo, have that chest-piece in backwards. The originals were correct. Glad you were able to figure it out and fix it without damaging/stressing anything. At least it isn't pinned, though MMC pins as a rule are easily removed, as toys go. Reminds me of the MP seekers, where most of the ones after MP-03 had the chest intake bits swapped, until they were fixed again like 5 releases later. I can't think of any other issues with the Rex re-releases, most everything else is corrected/fixed from the first batch. I think Leo is the only instance of something getting messed up. As for "other bits": The tail halves can peg onto the sides of the cannons, in robot mode. (YMMV, they're designed too, but the chrome plating affects the tolerance--mine peg in well, but I seem to be the exception rather than the rule) The chest-hole-covering halves can peg onto Talon's wings. (obstinately as thrusters, but really it's just to allow Rex to be wholly self-contained in combined mode, using every part from the whole team) Leo's own cannon comes with Tigris. Partly to "balance out" costs/plastic. Talon and Tigris are both arms, but Talon also has the wings, and Leo already comes with so many parts. So Tigris has both his guns and Leo's cannon.
  20. So I turn on my PS3 to get a $3 copy of the best game ever (Xenogears--see here: https://twitter.com/RPGSite/status/687050935571316736) and it wants a system update. Ok. Well, now the enter button on my PS3 remote doesn't work at the PS store. And I can't find anyone else mentioning this. Surely it can't be just mine? The enter button works on the Youtube app etc, just not the PS store "app". Have to use X.
