  1. There's a billion Devy's now, but I've yet to see one I really like. Most simply have stupid-looking combiner heads, and I hate most solutions to his forearms and hands. I honestly think TFC did the best. PS----why can't anyone make a Devy where the crane folds down along his back? He shouldn't need as much display space front-back as he does in height!
  2. Canards can do very different things---some are primarily for pitch control, some are mainly for lift, some are mainly for vortex generation. They're not like a tailplane or aileron, which always have a very defined purpose. A canard "is what you make of it". As for lateral stability--not much AFAIK. Usually too small an area. Of course there's SOME effect, but it's not going to be a primary consideration. Tailplane dihedral is a much larger effect/consideration, when it comes to roll.
  3. Angled as in when viewed from the front? (dihedral) I did some reading and eventually came back to the first guess I had: How how or low the tip of the canard is, alters where they vortices the produce go---the primary goal of a canard (in a fighter) is usually to reinforce the wing's vortex (especially at high alpha). But if it doesn't intersect it in just the right spot, it'll either "miss" and have no effect, or can "hit at the wrong spot" and interfere/weaken it. In car terms----the canards act like a supercharger to the wing. But you have to get everything just right to actually make a noticeable improvement, otherwise you've just added weight and complexity for little/no gain. *due to the size/location of the -19's canards, I believe they'd have little to no effect on the wings---they would be primarily be used for pitch control. And are angled mainly just to look cool.
  4. I see the VF-19 as like the Harrier----inherently hard to handle, with few people qualified to fly it. Even after decades in service, it will remain an "expert-only" plane. They can both do amazing things in skilled hands, but also frankly/sadly, kill a fair number of their pilots.
  5. Ah, now I remember that about the stands. But again, that's more of a variant than an upgrade/fix. If you have a non-bayonet gunpod, then having an "early" stand won't be a problem. Has Bandai ever released a -29 stand/gunpod combo that doesn't work?
  6. Considering design/factory, they're about what I'd expect, if not cheaper.
  7. Actual upgraded gunpods? I'm only aware of different ones, not "fixed" versions of any. The GERWALK brace---that's a fix/improvement/upgrade that's a permanent change to the mold. Bayonets are simply a different version, not a "fix". Stand paint isn't even a molding difference.
  8. Combined with the whole "slice of life of the heroine in casual settings" thing going on. And even the song itself in spots matches both of Mylene's.
  9. Basically----how would it NOT? If the mold was altered, they wouldn't un-do it.
  10. Interested in my Hasbro MP-10? Has the Reprolabels chrome stickers for the trailer etc, and I painted the tail lights transparent red.
  11. I mainly mean as in stripes etc. Changing the base color a bit still makes it monotone low-vis. I don't want it as flashy/gaudy as Delta squadron, but I do want SOME color, particularly in battroid mode. I always love when a valk "reveals" additional color/striping when in battroid mode. The -19 does that best.
  12. If they ever make a -31A with a bit more color, I may change. But for now----still Team Mirage.
  13. Also, "America-class" is SUCH a much better name than "Ford-class". (personally, I think there should be a rule like "a person must be dead at least 2-3 years before getting a ship named after them". There are way too many "knee-jerk" namings, right after someone dies. Let some time pass. THEN they can get a ship named, if it's appropriate. Not "person X died last Tuesday, what's the next ship coming up?"
  14. Too big of a gap. It was supposed to be CVN-78 USS America. But then Ford died, so of course he got a carrier named for him. Then the Kennedy was decommissioned, so of course congress made the next carrier the JFK. So we have no USS America and a long gap with no Enterprise----which are two names that should always be present. (ESPECIALLY Enterprise).
  15. Darn it, you posted it before I could! But yeah, it's totally a Hornet's ladder.
  16. I dont think anyone truly does besides Kawamori.
  17. Transformation kinda VF-9 ish, for the arms?
  18. Wow, not watching BSG because of that? Because all the characters have 10x more characterization that the originals. You're really, really missing out. If you like sci-fi, you owe it to yourself to not miss the best series of all. (Yup, better than DS9)
