  1. Re: last sentence of spoiler. That was my thought. Would lend a lot of credence to certain "Lady M" theories.
  2. If someone wants an example of 2 planes using the EXACT same engine: The PW4056 can be swapped directly between 767's and the 747-400. I know United does it. I would assume the same is true for the PW4060. The only difference is the hydraulic pump hook-up lines--there are 2 sets mounted on the engine---you use one location for the 747, and the other location for the 767. You just swap the plate covering the hole to whichever one isn't being used. And while we're on the subject---while "trim" is used for military planes, and generally refers to minor changes/tweaks, a permanent large change is a "de-rating". V2528 vs V2525 for example. It's only a software/warranty difference. A V2525 is 3000lbs less thrust, permanently, than the V2528. (or, at least, it's permanent until you pay IAE some money, get it re-rated to 28K, and alter the warranty terms) I have never known of an "up-rating", the highest-end version is always the "standard", with all other variants being de-rated.
  3. Same reason lightsabers turn off when the wielder dies. "Drama".
  4. Yes I did. It turned out well, asides from the intakes/gear doors. I ordered the Streak Eagle, and it just arrived yesterday. And I can already tell (as I expected) that its intakes fit much better. Flanker/Tomcat intakes and gear doors just never fit together well. They're almost identical. F-15 ones usually do.
  5. And superglue works way better. Normal modeling cement just doesn't have much effect. The only place REALLY needed are for missiles/pylons and fins/antennas.
  6. All that, and the eye is still just a pink sticker?
  7. M7 Milia is best Milia. (She flies even more valks than Max does-----1/11/17/22)
  8. A 1/20 Mirage would be pretty small!
  9. So will it be at N-Y, or where?
  10. 'cuz now he has Freya *AND* Mirage, not just Freya. (at least, that's what I thought they were blatantly implying)
  11. I wanna know how Mirage's ears fit into little round human-spec earmuffs.
  12. Can the canopy be raised/bulged more, or will it affect transformation/clearance? As it is, it looks a bit flat/recessed, like a VF-171's.
  13. Yup, there's a JASSM there, right next to the JSOW. Took pics of both (they're at arm's-length when on the 2nd floor) Nothing in the Harpoon/SLAM family in the museum---but this was the AIR FORCE armament museum, and those are mainly Navy missiles. (I was looking/hoping for Mk83/GBU-16's, then realized why they weren't there either...)
  14. So was Transient Glacier's colors changed, or is this another version compared to the previously-seen white+purple Glacier version? (Because I really, really want the black version and hope it isn't a custom)
  15. Bought!
  16. I'm on vacation so I can't make screen caps. But here's the Takara-Tomy -31A: The landing gear is not submerged/surrounded by the gear door. The DX and 1/72 is basically "door, with a wheel molded on it". The door and gear are basically one element. The 1/144 (and show) have them as very distinct, separate elements----like just about every fighter jet and valk ever.
  17. Looked through my pics----I have no pics specifically of it, but the best view of it makes me think my first guess was right: It looks to me like a HOBO with extra wings on top.
  18. I think he means the smaller one on top of the wall, not the -86 hanging from the ceiling.
  19. No, Bandai's doing a half-assed implementation of what they were given. Look at the actual show, and Takara's implementation. The same design can be done much better. Sure, it's never going to look great, but it can certainly be "decent". It's just much easier to do it how Bandai has done in both the kit and DX.
  20. Once in a while you'll just be walking down a hallway and be like, "Hey, someone just left a GAU-8 laying here." The cart has wheels, and it's so very tempting... And even an assortment of ammo to go with it: And a helpful cutaway so that you can make an informed selection: And even better, a SECOND GAU-8 partially dissected so you can learn to work on it without wrecking your own:
  21. I think that's about the only F3H anywhere. Shiden---yes, noticed it before the Zero. Today---less new stuff, but still good stuff. First: F-111 AIM-2 (friggin huge) AIM-4 (next to a chart showing its 0% kill ratio in Vietnam) AIM-120 AGM-88 GBU-10 GBU-15 GBU-12 GBU-24 GBU-28 (loooooong) GBU-39 almost cute/toy-like) JSOW JASSM Durandal Tomahawk CALCM Took some pics for Graham, but need to edit them a bit first.
  22. I liked the Demon the most.
  23. Planes seen for the first time today (guess where I am!): A-3 Skywarrior RA-5C Vigilante F2H Banshee F3H Demon F4D Skyray F7U Cutlass F7F Tigercat F11F Tiger F-35 Jayesseff PS---the F3H and F4D are bigger than they look. Same goes for the F2H, really. And ok, I'll admit, the -35 looks better and more F-22ish in real life.
  24. No, the nose is fixed on mine. But I think the parts fit isn't that great on the ones that can and it'd bug me.
  25. You needn't have waited years---I've had my 1/200 diecast AF Concorde for years. First release with actual map used in flight. I'd have sold you mine. Like this one:
