That's a heck of a first Technic set! Anyone have any comments on selling on Bricklink vs Ebay? I'm looking to unload most all my Star Wars sets and about half my other sets. None have boxes, all have instructions, if that affects the comparison.

The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread
David Hingtgen replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes, Cyberjaw would look a lot better/G1er/purpler if that big spine-armature was purple instead of grey. I've spent way too much time trying to figure out a possible repainting operation for him, but like with all transforming toys---there's very little you can do that will last more than a transformation or two. And that armature is certainly effectively unpaintable for that reason. There's a few spots I've identified that should work, but it's not worth it---I couldn't figure out a way to get a "mostly purple shark torso" like the G1 had, that'd actually last. I may paint his gun purple, as that will add a lot of purple in gun mode. (plastic-matching be damned, Tamiya makes a spray paint that is like dead-on G1 Overbite purple) TFC sure does seem to like grey lately---they've put it on like every Seacon, when only 2 of the originals had any. And I still fear that Seawing and Nautilator have lost their black and gotten just grey.- 9146 replies

That particular symbol doesn't work for a bat-signal. The "points"/details are too small and fine. They'd get obliterated over distance/cloud/fog. It'd just be a "splotch signal" really.

I was thinking cheap-cheap, like 20 bucks. I think I may actually have a spare 360 controller, in pieces. Will see if I can find it and if it has all the parts. ::googles:: Hmmn, they make a "wireless receiver" for the 360 controller, for PC---with many knock-offs. Will see if I can find one locally this weekend, if not---still likely my best/cheapest choice.- 6756 replies

I...think...that took care of itself? Anyways---suggestions wanted----decent cheap gamepad for my PC. Mainly to play Mass Effect 3 at the moment. I am FAR more of an rpg/adventure player, so an "awesome for FPS" pad means nothing to me. I definitely prefer a PS dual-shock style shape to an Xbox shape. If it makes any sort of difference---I do have convenient USB 3.0 ports up front, almost always one slot to spare.- 6756 replies

Despite being static images, I bet that book has more VF-31 action than Delta does... -

Well, since the VF-31's seem to do fine without pilots, I imagine the shuttle can too. -

I'd take bad valk action at this point, so long as they showed some transformation in doing so. -
STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2

Pretty sure it's just a display stand. Kinda greebled, to "fit in" to the overall look. I'm very tempted---because while you can tell it's not even half as crisp as the Bandai (and maybe not even the old MPC/Ertl), it will be decently sized. Is it just me, or is the command tower/bridge too low/short? It's the opposite problem that the Rebels one has. Is it THAT hard to get the proportions right? -

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
David Hingtgen replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh wow. Have fun. You're not even into any of the good parts yet. It will of course have a few dips, like any series. But it gets SO good by the end. PS--your opinions on Sheryl vs Ranka will change. Often. But that's good thing, it shows they're not cookie-cutter bland characters. PPS---do not skip the after-credits scene of Episode 22. -

Is Kabaneri available on anything like Crunchyroll, or must it be watched through "other" means? (I do love trains, so trains+Mikimoto sounds good to me) -
Won't the face be like 1cm tall in real life? I don't expect much from a 600Y(?) gashapon, and will buy it just for "a cheap little Mirage to put somewhere".

If the story had as little variation as the music does, it'd be an even more boring show than it is.
