    Even as clear colors go, Tamiya clear green is amazingly sensitive to "uneven layers", on like a microscopic level. It pretty much has to be airbrushed, unless you're intentionally going for a "hotspot" look with slightly domed/dished pieces.

    LEGO voted no to the awesome new shuttle---but maybe a turbofan will have a chance? I know I'd buy one if it gets enough votes to be put into production: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f18a11c6-f704-4827-b06a-fba84e5818df Seems that the main intent is for classrooms etc, to show the mechanics/workings etc. But either way--if they make it, I'll buy it.

    I use intense/flourescent paints on opaque-molded sabers. Trying to get a "glow" effect on those is far beyond my skills, so I just use eye-searingly bright paint. Hot Magenta, Sublime Green, Neon Green, Flourescent Green. Testors makes all those, they're my go-to for beam-saber paint.

    Eh, light grey replaced black and dark grey in quite a few spots, in the MG, to similar effect of "reducing the contrast".

    Plus, I think they made the head-crest even worse. The MG's was "too tall and far above the face", this one's looks to be mounted even higher, on a longer "pillar". (no idea what the term is) So yeah, it's pretty blech IMHO. Screwed-up head, bland ugly colors. (side skirts have no black contrast stripes, boosters are same color as body).

    No shuttle is just unbelievable. Most most-wanted Ideas set ever by far.

    "Transforming jet engineering skill" is zero-sum, and Kawamori has 90% of it.

    Raw head-size/neck-length/leg proportions are 100% known, as they are skeletal. Smaller details tend to be newer, but are certainly "forgivable" when wrong/missing. But getting head/neck/ legs/feet utterly wrong (in a way that doesn't match G1) just makes me go WTF.

    I'm a huge Stegosaurus fan, and yet I still haven't REALLY liked any of the 3P Snarls. They all seem to have something that irks the heck out of me in Stego mode. I think it comes down to "I want either a totally G1 toy-based dino mode, or I want it to be made a bit more accurate based on newer research". And most seem to be like "well, we'll take the G1 toy, then 'stylize' it"---which starts putting it into the made-up/monster/fantasy category with all sorts of weird/ugly proportions. It's little different than making a "fake" car for a character who had a clear specific alt-mode. "Well, it looks MOSTLY like a Countach, but with fenders like a Civic..."

    That episode, is, IMHO, the absolute peak of all Clone Wars/Rebels. (2nd best is the Umbara Arc of CW)

    HOW to use metal in joints is just as "lost" as the actual usage. Too many times it's "hey, this joint takes a lot of stress--let's make the main part of it metal---yeah!"---then that big strong metal piece, is attached to a very thin plastic section...

    It's always bugged me that they didn't simply make the Constellation, 1710. That'd fix all the problems. Or, if they had the FX budget to buy TWO kits, they could combine the decal sheets and get 1707, 1711, 1717, etc.

    That's the area I'm doing myself---his MOC is kind of a hybrid between the standard one in Rebels, and the "Elite" version seen in its latest appearance. The "long skinny conical rear" is unique to the one in that ep, and not the "standard" Rebels version nor any of its earlier semi-canon appearances. But he doesn't have the Elite-style pylons for the wings, just the standard ones. Also, he has NO engines on his. The Defender has been variously portrayed as having 2 standard, 3 medium-sized, or 1 huge engine. I'm planning on three. (TIE means Triple Ion Engine, ya know!)

    I'm pretty this is based on the Striker, based on the parts used: (yes, all TIE's will share a lot of parts---but this seems to be especially similar). It's what I just got parts for (don't own a Striker, actual LEGO Defender can only supply a few dozen parts). I'm not following it exactly, but probably 85-90%. Also----a new UCS Y-Wing is very likely soon. It's in the "so rumored it'd be a surprise if that's not it" category. Set 75181. I was *this* close to Bricklinking a "color-substituted" version of the old UCS when I found out. (You can save a lot of money by swapping rare colors for similar, common ones---and IT'S A Y-WING, so it's not supposed to match anyways)

    Nope, TIE Defender is coolest TIE ever. Spent too many hours on TIE Fighter (LucasArts PC) to ever think otherwise. (Still the best SW game ever) coincidently, I should have a bricklink order arriving very soon, with parts for a Defender MOC.

    Many monitors have a port or two---plug keyboard/mouse into it.

    RG Tallgeese---if it has the TV show coloring, insta-buy. If it's colored like the MG, insta-pass. Seriously, how hard is BLACK AND WHITE to get right? No yellow accents all over and minimizing the constrast by using lots of greys..

    If it's a combo box, you do NOT want it. All combos are the older, non-renewals. I've been of the opinion, that if someone was going to "start from scratch" for Frontier----buy a renewal, and a tornado pack. Best "bang for the buck". The tornado pack has a lot of parts, is similar to the super pack, but much cheaper and easier to get than super pack or armor pack. However, it is SIMILAR. Not a single thing is identical.

    Sorry if this was brought up before, but it's bugged me since like, trailer #1 of episode 7------and Bandai seems to be the first to "fix" it-----the markings on the new X-Wings. They were ALL "Blue 3". Except for Black Leader, which was marked as "Black 3" (or maybe Orange 3?) Anyways----the new Bandai 3-pack (MF, and black and blue X-wings) comes with 'proper' squadron markings for the X-wings, have a look: They actually paid more attention than the movie CG artists etc. Disappointingly, their new Ep 8 version of the X-Wing kit,despite having several new parts than the Ep 7 release---doesn't include any more markings for the wings.

    Wait wait---Pearl coating HIRM Wing Zero?!? Anyone interested in my 99.5% unstarted HIRM Wing Zero? (I painted the chest jewel, as it's so very dark out-of-box----but every sprue is still sealed in bag)

    The Countach is my fave car, I know it well. The NACA ducts are additional intakes for the radiators. You'll also find the gas caps(plural) in there too.
