Top Gun: Maverick (Top Gun 2 is comin)
David Hingtgen replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
::cough MiG-33's cough:: I'm sure they'll be F-18A's painted in shark-camo, and the audience can't tell them from an 18F... -
Nowhere near as much as Takara though. They LIVE for animation errors.

Yeah, but did he say it with his mouth tilted and TWICE AS LOUD as whenever he says un spacy?

I think the heels are even worse than the wing tampo, but: If the wing tampo was at least the same size/symmetrical, it'd be a lot better. But the US SPACY is way bigger (goes outside of the black) and is at a different angle than the NETFC (aligned with rear edge of black instead of front edge of black). It's like two different people painted it--they each took a wing, agreed on "white, all-caps" but other than that, each did it their own way. And it looks very "lopsided" because of it. (and of course, the chest stripes STILL look all wrong)

No no, it'd be a full-production B-70A, one of many built... Considering just how many prototype planes end up being mass-produced in Strangereal (Wizard squadron is all YF-23's, Yellow Squadron has like 10 more Su-37's than were ever built), it's amazing they haven't done any "earlier" prototypes, like the F-108 mentioned above. TSR-2 would be nice, maybe the A-9.

Yeah---there's far too few earlier jets. They toss in one to start, and then you get the F-16 already in mission two or three..... Yeesh, you could make an entire game based just around the Century series.

I have a similar question——why does Mirage even NEED to steal a Draken? I’m guessing her -31 is either destroyed or captured?

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
David Hingtgen replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah---after I finished the HD remix version of re:coded I got the impression from reading about the original, that it was very tedious. I have only ever played them all on the PS2/3/4----but I have by now played just about every KH game there is. And I think it's true for most all the mobile/handheld ones etc---the HD remake versions, cut out a lot of the "fluff" of monotonous repeat battles/worlds, and just give you the "core" stuff with the main battles and cutscenes. (though I think 358/2 loses a bit---that one I think would have worked better as an actual game, and not just the movie they give) My overall feelings of the series so far: They're focusing on the wrong protagonist. This isn't Sora's story---it's Ventus and Roxas's. They are far more interesting/compelling characters. I decided I will always utterly side with Axel from now on. I demand some sort of super Xion/Ventus/Roxas/Sora fight in the end, with multiple endings.- 6756 replies

The Third Party Gundam Thread
David Hingtgen replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I never did pick up a Sandrock Supernova, and now it's basically sold out/$$$ everywhere---but it looks like it's going to be re-released soon. The cloak and "sword effects" parts not in the re-release, but I never did like the cloak. (and the effects parts are blue, which is totally wrong for Sandrock---it has heat-sabers, very Zeon-esque, they always glowed red/orange, both TV and EW) Does any mobile suit have heat-weapons that get so hot they glow BLUE? Anyways, I see they are also re-releasing Altron Supernova, but in TV Shenlong's colors. THAT looks cool, and I am very tempted. Mount the shield on the left arm, and only use one dragon-fang, and you have a very TV-esque stylized Shenlong.- 2158 replies

Aircraft Super Thread Mk.VII
David Hingtgen replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That’s always been considered one of the hardest schemes to do—it has four colors, whereas most have three. -
G-Gundam has Rain, and the best attacks in the franchise. Therefore it’s awesome.

That's what I meant---I'd buy them regardless of "on-screen canon" status, but they're unlikely to ever be made if they only exist as cover-art and not on-screen.

Relatively, or absolute? I loved Frontier, hated Delta. I liked the first Frontier movie more than the second, but overall still prefer the series. (though there are definitely some good scenes in each movie).

Zero chance, but give me a PG Delta Gundam, since they still haven't done an MG 2.0, and I want a shiny gold transforming kit...

Darn, I was really hoping Mirage’s was on-screen like that with a likely release. Will just keep hoping for Arad’s 31A or something....

Google "push-button transmission". They're (not)awesome.

So really it should be more like "Armed Siegfried" vs "Armored Siegfried" based on the specs/discussion there...

Help with 1990’s military play set toy line.
David Hingtgen replied to frankell05's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
“Mega Force” was my fave line of the era. Had pretty much the entire Triax military. Loved those toys. http://www.toyarchive.com/Megaforce/Series1.html -
The cynic in me says their sentence is self-evident/redundant——“it’s not polite to be rude” isn’t really saying anything. “Red isn’t blue” and “up isn’t down” are similar statements.
