My fear is that SWtOR is the first "highly influenced by EA" game. Thus, micro-transactions.

Hi-Def and Home Theater Thread 2
David Hingtgen replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sort of on-topic: A lot of DVD's have still pic galleries where you use the "next" button on the remote to switch between pics. But they never seem to work when played on a PC--the PC never seems to recognize/realize there's another chapter/frame to "activate" and it either greys out the button, or clicking on the appropriate button does nothing. Anyone know of a DVD program on the PC that can work a "still image gallery"?- 376 replies

Hmmmmn. Gunmetal Grey PS3 MGS4 bundle's available again, for the same price as the current 80GB version. Definitely thinking about it. Any comments anyone? I *really* like the gunmetal vs the black. Only concern--I know the latest (CECHK) 80GB ones are the lightest/quietest/coolest PS3's around. Does anyone know how "advanced" the gunmetal 40GB ones are, noise/heat-wise? I know they're better than launch 60GB, but are they equal to current 80GB?

No, I get the impression from the thread that it's basically a powerful anti-oxidant, and is "un-oxidizing" the bromine in the plastic. It's not eating away the outer layer of plastic, it's sucking the oxygen out of it. If it ate away the outer layer, then the fine texture of the old keyboard keys would have been lost--and they look fine.

25th Anniversary G.I. Joes, Wave II

Re: engine detail. Way too shallow. Common problem in all models, not just toys. The actual afterburner is about 4 to 5 feet in from the nozzle. Not "just inside". A lot of toys/models ::coughYAMATOcough:: also have the same problem with the compressor fan---just inside the intake lip, instead of deep within. -
Alto's eye piece is molded clear, not green---one of the several ways Ozma's seems to be a better kit.

Animated Blitzwing is assembled wrong from the factory, check it out: http://www.tfw2005.com/radicons-customs/re...;searchid=12256 (as in, they all are, it's not a random QC issue) I just did the fix. Not a huge difference, but since it only takes a minute and 2 screws to do, it's worth doing.

This is the same batch of pics I sent Wm Cheng, lots of cockpit shots, plus a few various helpful shots.

I think they based it more off the 1/55 than the actual series... Maybe that's the infamous moth mode version?

I would so buy Fräulein Milia (Spacy officer uniform, Spacy flight suit, and purple Meltrandi TV flight suit), Mylene, Grace (regular and flightsuit), Sally Ford, maybe Macro Klan, and a Nanase or two.

Hasbro's Heroes line, Like em or Hate em?
David Hingtgen replied to marx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I hate 'em, but they are popular--go to any store right now, and THOSE are what are sold out for Xmas. (for Star Wars at least) -
Was the purple-tinted Future the very first coat, or did you "Future the canopy" prior to using the tinted coat? (I've been wondering if some of my problems may be related to always Futuring the canopy first---perhaps it makes the canopy so slick that everything else after has problems going on nicely--there's nothing to "grip")

It's not just the angle, the shape itself is off---look more like F-15 fins than F-14. FYI, F-14 tailfin outward cant is 5 degrees. -
Quick question: do newer releases still have "white" instrument panels, or did they ever fix it to black?

I *wish* I could paint gold like that...

Hey, I have my idea for NEXT Xmas' Grace avatar already. (or I may switch to it later in the month, if I make it) PS--I figured her stuff would be dosed with "Witchcraft 639". You know, an Xmas episode of Frontier would be awesome...

Anyone know of a thread that has good disassembly tips for the MP Starscream mold? I've been checking all the sites I know, but have come up with very little.

Macross Frontier Mecha/Technology Thread IV *Read 1st Post*
David Hingtgen replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
I freeze-framed the grappling hook being fired several times. PURE anime magic. It simply appears, full-sized and fully formed, from the side of the chest, a bit below the armpit. No hatch, it doesn't fold up to fit anywhere--it's simply missing one frame, then appears in the next. -
