  1. I've posted pics and explanations advocating that exact thing for YEARS on the TF forums... (and then you have people proposing T-38's as "modern updated alt-modes")
  2. (Besides the Alclad named as such). I'm basically looking for "very pale metallic grey"----or a very flat, rough silver. The exact look I'm going for is rough (sand)cast aluminum parts---like an engine block etc. Any suggestions? Most silvers are too smooth/reflective, and most metallic greys are too dark and too glittery. (Slightly glittery would be ok). Looking for a spray if possible, or something hand-brushable. Really, those sand-textured spray paints would be almost perfect, if not so coarse, and in silver...
  3. Haven't watched it, but also don't feel that I'm missing anything. Kind of like the droid-focused eps of Clone Wars.
  4. And it's the only place to see Milia's canon VF-11.
  5. Eh, that looks more like "sat in the desert for a decade and faded badly", rather than "the right colors". It's DIFFERENT from the first release for sure, but I still want exactly what they originally showed for 0D preorders---that was absolutely perfect IMHO.
  6. It looks good, but all things considered, I think a highly-articulated figma/revoltech suits the character better. (And would sell in much greater numbers)
  7. Eh, a Solstice for Jazz? That's more GM's choice than Bay's, I imagine. Heck, BB/Camaro too...
  8. Just IMHO, there's plenty of space for it to be shaped correctly, or close to it---the shape is off the most, in the areas furthest away from anything else.
  9. For beginning Gunpla, this is probably the most important thing. Cut twice. Once further away from the part, to remove part from sprue. Then once it's removed, THEN do the "close" cut to get rid of the remaining gate-nub. This will greatly reduce "tears" in the plastic.
  10. Slightly OT, but thought people might be interested---this is Sideswipe. As in, the EXACT invididual unique car that Sideswipe is modeled after. Have a look and listen: (it's been in Japan for many years now) (actually, Red Alert and Breakdown are this car as well, they just didn't copy the paint job). (and yes, if the G1 toy had a bigger deco/paint budget, it'd certainly have had black fender flares---the toy is inaccurate, not the 1:1 version)
  11. Re: Silverbolts. Interesting, TFC's is actually the right color (G1 Silverbolt, and Superion's combiner kibble, is off-white, contrasting with Slingshot's pure white). Zeta's concave, mosquito-nosed Concorde still looks terrible for no reason. It's a convex/ogival shape if anything, the exact opposite of "pinching in". A pure straight cone would have been simpler/better. (not right, but still better than what we got). That "pinched-in nose" just ruins it for me. There's not a Concorde photo in the world where it'll look like that, so I don't know WTF Zeta was referencing for nose-shape. Real ones bulge out, not in, and it's subtle, not extreme:
  12. I realized a couple hours too late, that it was last night. (could have bought tickets)
  13. Pretty good, enjoyed it more than most movies I've seen lately. And yeah---the eyes don't bug you after a bit. (And there is an explanation why hers are "uniquely" big----it's never blatantly stated, but it's very clear from a scene or two).
  14. Paramount was stupid and opened BB up against a ton of other movies. A few weeks either direction, and it would have had all the buzz/word of mouth there was. "Way better than the last one" won't do, when it's not "the only thing to see".
  15. The -25 is the best design since the -19. It's "the whole package"---styling, transformation, super packs, all 3 modes look good----has the best balance "of all things a valk can do" since the VF-1.
  16. Bandai seems to use more and more superglue with every new DX mold. I think by the time we hit the VF-40 or so, it'll be ALL super-glue, no screws.
  17. I'm a little late, but could I see a level, head-on shot of Slingshot with the gear down, and matching the real thing's dihedral angle? (as in, angle those wings DOWN!)
  18. The search function's kinda sucky---I bookmark/follow pretty much every thread that may 'fall off the first 2 pages', as they'll be hard to find via searching. Also, watch the gunpod---there's multiple hinges inside, and "separating and sliding forward" the barrel-halves are often a sticking point--literally. Open it very slowly and carefully the first time. Make it through the first time, and you should be good forever. Force it open because it seems stuck---has broken many a gunpod on the first attempt. If it doesn't want to open/move---try a different direction/location for a bit. Wiggle and pry it all around.
  19. Factories often don't seem to understand how to do "subtle" changes of color. You get stuff like "sample to final" 0D color....
  20. Exactly. I do not trust Arcadia at all, when it comes to "actual final release color" of a VF-0D. I will wait, until someone has it in-hand, to see what shade of blue it is. (though even if the blue is right, I suspect the belly will still be pure white, and not "DYRL grey" like it should be---that was also changed from the first-release sample, not just the blue upper surfaces, but the lower surface's main color too) (yes, I am still bitter about their 0D's coloring---I love that valk, AND it's scheme---and the sample pics were so perfect, with slate-blue and ghost-grey, then they gave us royal blue and snow-white...)
  21. I really hope there's a 3P "trans-orange with LED" replacement gun-barrel for Brunt. Still annoyed that the TR Trypticon doesn't have any lights. (and was so bummed when my G1's light burned out, so many years ago)
