The paint job's a lot different. A whole lot more purple, and it's a more G1 lavender purple instead of the deep magenta-purple. Silver instead of gunmetal. Red accents in the intakes. Also all the striping is painted on. No "no steps" all over.

The F-20 was not intended as a heavy bomber, it is the fastest-scrambling interceptor ever. Even the F-22 could not beat it in the first 5 (or even 10) minutes. (If Ace Combat scenarios were real, every air force would be scrambling over themselves to get some) Also, the F-20 can still carry most any typical bomb, and Mavericks for precision strikes. Just not a whole bunch of them. The "lowest-hanging" arrangement on an F-16 (or just about anything) is a triple-rail Maverick. Most weapons don't need that much clearance. And with even the A-10 not usually carrying Mavericks that way, it's kinda pointless. As for engines---the F414 would fit. 1.4:1 combat ratio with that.

Not how I meant it. As Takara made it, MP TC is mostly blue, with dark blue accents. Or you could call it mostly dark blue, with VERY DARK blue accents. Either way, I meant the feet/fists etc. They should be black. Takara didn't make that so.

I would assume US MP TC would have black tailfins and silver intakes. Probably change all the dark blue to black (like I did). At first glance MP-07 looks about the most G1 of the 3, but up close it's no better than SW, if not worse. Of course, Hasbro could go for anime-accurate and ruin it with pale flat sky blue. (I still don't know what they were going for with the US SS----orangey scarlet accents on nigh-white base? SS is GREY with nice deep crimson red accents) Of course, that's been my complaint about most all Hasbro red TFs for years---it's all that same scarlet plastic, never a deep true red. True red is what a 1/48 Milia is made of. THAT is red plastic. Hasbro only ever gives orangey "almost red".

I wouldn't be surprised if we do basically get a Hikaru in the cockpit---I'd be very surprised if we get a nice new 1/60 Milia sculpt.

There's a lot of stickers over compound angles on the parts on either side of the chest plate. Look at the first pic. I think that whole piece/intake lip should have been molded in purple, with a red decal on top.

Ooooh, the very end of season 2. Probably my fave moment in the series.

US MP TC---not for a long time, if ever. Grimlock is coming next year.

Oh yeah, was just reminded of something that I myself always forget. For all Sukhois: It's Su. As in, Sue, or Soo. Not Ess-You. MiG is "mig"---not "emm aye gee". Same for Su. F-15 is "eff fif-teen", but Su-27 is properly "sue twenty-seven". Of course, what does that mean for An-72 and Tu-95?

Or more likely, a list of characters you may absolutely despise in a season or two...

The F-16ADF only exists as a counter to the F-20. Inferior in every aspect---yet they picked it anyways.

On-screen, it looks far cooler to implode from the center than to be dragged-destroyed off to the side.

I honestly think it's tradition with Bandai. I mean, the main pelvis piece on Alto's was molded in black, with multiple large white stickers to make it mostly white with a black edge. How utterly pointless was that? So I'm bettering Brera's has a large, prominent piece molded in red, that will be 90% covered in lavender? stickers...

Interesting, sprue H and I are from the VF-25, though a lot of parts aren't used. Also, those markings are really going to suck to do, if you're the "trim off all the excess clear" type of modeler. (the VF-25 at least had blocky, angular color bits for the most part) I wonder if they'll "increase the contrast" for the green ones. They were quite subdued in the anime. You know, I just realized they'll probably put Grace on the boxart for the green one. Might be the first piece of merchandise with her on it... (magazines don't count)

Well, when you think of how small and sleek the basic F-5 frame is, combined with more power than the best of the F-8s, combined with aerodynamic tweaks from the YF-17 team...

Well that was quick. That TV is 2, maybe even 3 years old. I don't know if he'll want to spend much on an out-of-warranty repair vs replacing it. (IMHO TV warrantys are ludicrously short--they cost a decent chunk and are expected to last---it'd be like if a brand-new car came with a 3 month/5000 mile warranty)

Not my TV, but I'd really like to try to help fix it if I could-----this one has a fairly unique issue. Kind of cropped up recently. Basically---the right side got dim, about where pillarboxing occurs. I took a careful look, and drew this up to show the effect: (this is how it'd look if the TV was displaying pure white) Now, this TV is fed almost pure HD 16:9, so pillarboxing would be occasional. Like mine, it's primarily a movies/gaming TV, with some HD primetime sports and shows. And it's only on the right side. Also, there's kind of a "band" at the border where it's ok. The upper right corner is fine. Also, near the bottom right, the TV tints everything a bit blue---if it's white, it's blue. If it's red, it'll show purple, if it's yellow, it'll show green. Does anyone know what this is? Board just went psycho? Extremely weird persistent image? Specifically, it's a Samsung 26in, LN2651D I think is the model. (It's very similar to mine, mine's just a bit bigger and newer)

Came across this spoiler in another forum I go to, but I think the original source is "some guy at the IMDB boards"--about 3 eps from now, the following will happen: Actually that is one of my fave plot devices in a show for an ep--usually only occurs in Sci-Fi shows and cartoons though. Though IMHO if it's done early in a series it's to flesh out the characters, and if done late it means they're running out of plotlines. PS--they're doing like X-Men comics etc with the Haitian's name----people always used his alias before, but now all of a sudden everybody uses his real name.
