  1. The 787 is awesome when it comes to appearance, because it's the most distinctive looking large jetliner in many years. Too bad it lost the sharkfin tail late in the design phase... (actually, the last thing I read was that that was the better design aerodynamically, but they basically "clipped" it to a smaller, more normal shape to reduce weight)
  2. The QAAM choices in the game make perfect sense to me. AIM-9X and AA-11. Meteor is XLAA? Didn't remember that. Then what do the Eurocanards use for XMAA? (I think I'm going to go play AC5 again soon)
  3. Every weapon (excepting the obvious fantasies) in AC games is real and appropriate. The "basic" missile on an F-14/15/16/18 is an AIM-9. A MiG-29 has an AA-8. F-2 has AAM-3. The "XMAA" will be an AMRAAM, Meteor, or AA-12, depending on what plane it's on. XLAA can be AIM-54, AA-9, etc. I don't know if the game actually tweaks the specs for each weapon, or simply makes them all the same. (as in, will the game actually make a Meteor slightly different than an AMRAAM, or simply gives all XMAA-type the same specs)
  4. Ehh, it happened a few times on purpose too in Vietnam at least---a steam locomotive boiler is a GREAT heat source, and they were targets at times.
  5. I just snagged the LEGO TIE Defender at TRU. Horribly overpriced, $55, but it'll be my main Xmas present for myself this year so I splurged. (yeah, it'll probably be $45 at Target, but they won't get any until Jan/Feb at best) Also saw a Cad Bane fig for the first time ever. (and moved it down and forward to a low peg, next to an Ahsoka)
  6. Actually I was thinking of doing just that---locking it for a while, then re-opening it when things have cooled down and a few more people are banned---no, we're not done yet.
  7. A bit OT but: If anyone sees on a blog/site that Kotobukiya's new 1/100 Fei-Yen is actually released/purchasable, would you let me know? I've got one pre-ordered but don't know if it'll actually be out in time for Xmas.
  8. A non-speaking 2-sec shot of someone reading something? I'd say that's subtle.
  9. Yes they are. It is basically "KOTOR 3 online", as much as it could be without being a direct prequel/sequel.
  10. Well, KOTOR 2 wasn't made by Bioware, which account for a lot of the issues in that game.
  11. Way OT people...
  12. Always is in a Bioware game. Helping people takes time and effort, just like in real life. It's quick and easy to ignore people and be an ass. Sadly, a lot of people choose the latter in real life, too.
  13. Too many websites rely on too much "junk". I've had periods where I've "locked down" a browser so that almost everything is disabled---but then half the websites of the world don't work right, and you have to click approve/allow on every single page. Wouldn't "no script" do a whole lot more than merely block iframe problems?
  14. I liked it--it was subtle. I wouldn't be surprised if half the viewers didn't even recognize.
  15. Dobber made me remember the only line that may be better than Tigh's. (Baltar's)
  16. Is there a way to specifically try to protect against/block out "iframe" attacks? 90% of the warnings I've gotten the past year are those. Including one tonight. They just seem to be EVERYWHERE. Tonight it was on the main page of GMinsidenews.com. A couple months back I got a warning from a British defense industry journal. Last week one actually got through for the first time and really messed up my PC for a day (it was in a pic from a year-old post in a videogame forum that had apparently become infected since then---and I was merely viewing the cached version through google). And so on and so on. Either a lot of sites have crappy admins and protection, or it's becoming more widespread. I wouldn't be surprised if Boeing.com gets one at this point. Also, I'm thinking about trying to just plain block off all of China (and the Ukraine) on my PC---more viruses than webpages, I swear. Anyone got a list of IP's for that? (I'd block Russia, too, but there's way too many military and aviation sites I go to)
  17. Some big ones for sure, and I was trying to spoilerize them, but I found it easier to just black out the whole post than rely on my memory of exactly what happens when.
  18. That's probably the funniest way to play. Smacked anyone upside the head yet?
  19. 1. Don't cut and paste someone else's entire webpage then ask for comments, you could have added in at least 1 word/thought/notion of your own. (and you shouldn't have quoted their entire article, period) 2. Wrong forum. Frontier is one of the key parts of Macrossdom, it certainly doesn't belong in "other anime".
  20. I think I'll let Azrael or Roy or even Exo have the honor/pleasure... But go ahead and keep posting, those who keep it up will be banned in addition.
  21. It only got as far as the photo. Now, the 777 did get airborne on one of its test runs immediately before "first flight", but Boeing denies it. Which is strange, as it used to be that Boeing would purposely get them just barely off the ground prior to the "official" first flight. The 727 was airborne for quite a while the day before its "first flight".
  22. ::red leader:: Allllllmost there...
  23. I noticed that they also show normal colors with Wild Weasel. Is that combo going to be released too, or is that just showing what you can do if you own both and are willing to repaint a bit?
  24. Wow, 50% of the people reading this thread are mod/admin.
