  1. Considering there's no fansub out yet AFAIK, I'd imagine it's your standard "run through google translate from Japanese to Mandarin to Engrish" quality.
  2. Phantoms? Gimme a Crusader movie--you know, the plane that HAD THE BEST KILL RATIO IN VIETNAM. Last of the Gunfighters.
  3. Bumblebee is not a Camaro. He is a hacked-up, modified, 04 GTO, with custom one-of-a-kind body panels copied from the clay master of the very first pre-pre-pre-pre-production Camaro CONCEPT. Real Camaros are different in just about every square inch--very similar, but no 2 parts are interchangable nor will fit with others. Through all that work, it has retained the original air conditioning, but just about everything else is gone. It's likely totally illegal to drive it on the streets. It's not far off from the 1989 Batmobile, which was a heavily modified Ford IIRC. And of course--being a stunt/Hollywood car, ABS could very well be intentionally disabled even if it was still there--ABS and traction control etc, can counteract the inputs of expert stunt drivers---plus they tend not to allow "cool" stuff like burnouts etc.
  4. Well, I doubt the Ikaruga would get its own thread---better here than the Transformers thread or something. But anyways: wouldn't you need 2 Ikarugas, one of each color? There's no way to "change" colors. Personally I'd skip a kit for that reason---Ikaruga's "thing" is the color change--both itself and the glowing field around it. Impossible to replicate.
  5. Read what was written above carefully--believe it or not, LOOSENING the screw sometimes works better.
  6. Actually, a decent chunk of Top Gun was large radio-control F-14's. But again--just like the original Star Destroyer still looks good, the model F-14's still look good--because they were still physically present, and actually existed to be filmed. Nothing looks nor moves more realistically, than real objects. CGI always ages and looks bad later. Flight is the hardest thing to animate IMHO, because no CG model-maker can mentally three-dimensionally figure out EXACTLY how things move---there's a difference between FLYING IN AIR, and simply "moving around in space". But an actual flying model has to obey the laws of physics and move aerodynamically.
  7. It used the Diablo chassis, too? I thought it was just the drivetrain.
  8. ??? I can think of US female F-16, F-15E, F-18, and F-14 pilots. I don't recall a female F-14 pilot in combat, but a RIO for sure. I know VFA-105's current commander is female, and has personally lead low-level strikes into Afghanistan. Both of the current female Thunderbird pilots have seen combat IIRC, one in the F-15E, one in the F-16C. And there's the famous F-16C squadron at Eielson, which had so many female pilots they could do entire missions all-female. And while not technically a *fighter* plane---need I even mention KC "Killer Chick", possibly the most famous A-10 pilot of all? ::edit:: Or just go here: http://userpages.aug.com/captbarb/news.html
  9. No Tomcat=not a good movie. Seriously, Top Gun 2 should have been made like 1990 or so, when the F-14B was in service. Quick and easy explanation to the audience--"It's just like the original F-14, but with 40% MORE POWER".
  10. Vector W-8 (Countach rival) was ok, but I very much liked the Diablo-rival Vector W-12.
  11. Well, it's just that Animated Lugnut is the original*/definitive version. And he was teal and purple. Takara's is teal and purple. Hasbro's isn't. *please don't bring up some obscure G1-UK-comic-only character etc. The character of Lugnut is from Animated, just like Barricade is from the 07 movie, regardless of previous name uses.
  12. Nov 29, last I heard.
  13. Takara version of Lugnut looks SO much better than Hasbro's.
  14. Ok, so from what I gather from various threads, Klan's is overall purple-blue (would be an awesome color for Grace, but oh well). Who has the very Milia-esque one---Ranka? (guessing from a screen shot)
  15. Two very different versions of the same story? 7 is just 7, Plus is really just the full and the edited version. Only DYRL really offers a version to "compare and contrast" with the original. It is VERY different in some segments.
  16. Do just the 0D. I think Bandai would have more success doing "the valks you can't get otherwise" rather than "yet more valks you already own in 1/55, 1/48, 1/60, and 1/72..." (exceptions for stuff like the -19S of course, where they have greatly improved upon previous offerings)
  17. It's simple, use the same methodology as I have since season one: You will know from the previews if it's a Jar-Jar or Padme-centric ep. If it is, skip it. Of course, now you can pretty much add Satine to the list.
  18. Try the big "Trial Frontier" thread in the Games section: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=33557 Checking around--it seems that you can't.
  19. Hey, they're better than Playmates did with the new Trek stuff---you really can't tell a 1989 Playmates figure from a 2009 Playmates figure...
  20. Like the 1/60 VF-1, it's best to kind of "twist" the missiles on and off. Snapping them straight down (or straight up, when removing) does apply the most stress.
  21. Jolly Rogers Prandtl-Glauert effect: Large version: http://www.navy.mil/management/photodb/photos/100724-N-4236E-764.jpg
  22. Macross Plus isn't discussed much because it's universally praised. People post about what they hate--see Macross 7. People like to argue---if everyone agrees, not much is said. Plus is great, and everyone agrees with that.
  23. That better have been a joke post.
  24. On jacks with the gear up, it looks like it's hovering.
