  1. Early reviews seem to say it's a 5-hour game with all the flaws of the original and more. I'll just rent it. Fable 3 however, seems like it may actually be what Fable 1 (and 2) promised to be. But I already have a game backlog at the moment, and Fable games often drop in price fairly quickly, so I'll probably wait.
  2. Ok, for watching with a separate sub file, I'm going to say use VLC. Much easier to re-time the subs to fit just right.
  3. Mega Video? You just watched each clip "live", like Youtube, without saving any? Just trying to get a handle on your "video watching situation".
  4. Seconded. Quit re-hashing what we already have superior versions of! Give us stuff we don't have at all, or that we only have very poor, old versions of.
  5. I've got a question----how'd you watch Frontier, as in the TV series? Because AFAIK, just about every player that can play any format that the individual eps were available as, can play the movie and subs. PS---My vote is for Media Player Classic. It plays Quicktime movies better than Quicktime...
  6. The subtitles are subtitles, nothing more. They are not a subbed version of the movie. Depending on what you're playing the movie on, and if everything's in the same directory, the movie may find and load the subs automatically. Otherwise, you'll have to load them manually after you start the movie. As there's about a zillion different video-playing programs out there, they all vary a bit.
  7. Mass-producing a fan-mod is kinda pointless. If they actually made it like the pre-Kawamori prototype, THAT would be impressive. Seriously, a company like that should have been able to do it--I swear you can see mold lines on some of the MP Seeker parts where they were modified from the original. "cut here" and you've got the original version without CFT's and kibble... (it's just 500 hours of dremel work though uber-rock-hard plastic)
  8. And they're not SE's to start with. Thus, the SA designation.
  9. Simply copying the G2 scheme truly would have looked a lot better IMHO. Clear teal tailfins? Tampo-printing the stickers in primary colors? Blech. G1-color stickers on G2-color figures never looked good, I speak from experience. And changing them from silver and metallics to red/yellow/white only makes it worse.
  10. I so want to make some sort of VF-25 Urkel socks comment...
  11. As I said--they've always gotten approval before, so they'll probably get it this time too. The F-15s alone will keep the St Louis line open for a few more years, so Missouri will support it. I read elsewhere that they intend to upgrade their current F-15S's to Silent Eagle standards in the future, but this new batch will simply be "really really upgraded Strike Eagles".
  12. It stands for Air Defense Command in the USAF. Dunno about the F-14's designation. Anyways: Saudi Arabia just made a big order. Needs US approval first (but they always do). They want: 84 F-15SA Aircraft 170 APG-63(v)3 Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar (AESA) radar sets 193 F-110-GE-129 Improved Performance Engines 100 M61 Vulcan Cannons 100 Link-16 Multifunctional Information Distribution System/Low Volume Terminal (MIDS/LVT) and spares 193 LANTIRN Navigation Pods (3rd Generation-Tiger Eye) 338 Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems (JHMCS) 462 AN/AVS-9 Night Vision Goggles (NVGS) 300 AIM-9X SIDEWINDER Missiles 25 Captive Air Training Missiles (CATM-9X) 25 Special Air Training Missiles (NATM-9X) 500 AIM-120C/7 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) 25 AIM-120 CATMs 1,000 Dual Mode Laser/Global Positioning System (GPS) Guided Munitions (500 lb) 1,000 Dual Mode Laser/GPS Guided Munitions (2000 lb) 1,100 GBU-24 PAVEWAY III Laser Guided Bombs (2000 lb) 1,000 GBU-31B V3 Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) (2000 lb) 1,300 CBU-105D/B Sensor Fuzed Weapons (SFW)/Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD) 50 CBU-105 Inert 1,000 MK-82 500lb General Purpose Bombs 6,000 MK-82 500lb Inert Training Bombs 2,000 MK-84 2000lb General Purpose Bombs 2,000 MK-84 2000lb Inert Training Bombs 200,000 20mm Cartridges 400,000 20mm Target Practice Cartridges 400 AGM-84 Block II HARPOON Missiles 600 AGM-88B HARM Missiles 169 Digital Electronic Warfare Systems (DEWS) 158 AN/AAQ-33 Sniper Targeting Systems 169 AN/AAS-42 Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Systems 10 DB-110 Reconnaissance Pods 462 Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System Helmets 40 Remotely Operated Video Enhanced Receivers (ROVER) 80 Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation Pods And some Apaches and Blackhawks.
  13. Found Animated Rodimus--several, actually. So check your local TRU again for re-stocks etc. Also, be sure to check the flames on the hood! Most had atrocious paint---the orange outline didn't fit the gold flames at all, off by several times the width of the striping itself.
  14. Want a quiet cooler? Buy a big run and run the fan at really low speeds--or no fan. Get a massive cooler designed for intense overclocking--then don't overclock. A very slow fan or fanless will be more than adequate. It's what I do. You want quiet everything? Then you're like me. Go spend some time at http://www.silentpcreview.com. They are THE place to go for quiet PC parts. They test everything--and not just raw decibels--they'll say if it hums, drones, whines, how shrill, how smooth, is it random or patterned, etc. If you know what types of noise annoy you, you'll know if something does it from reading their stuff. PS--their goal is a dead-silent PC. So even if it's only "ok" by their standards, it'd be notably quiet compared to most stuff.

For those of us who only have a Roy and/or Hikaru from the early batch, we suffer nearly a 100% shoulder-failure rate.
  16. The F-35C will be in service even later than the A and B. Again---there's a gap to be filled.
  17. I'll third the Tamiya fine primer spray--it's worth the extra cost.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11570593 Ark Royal decomm'd early, as will be the Harriers. Both QE class CV's to be built, but it seems one will be "hull only" or some such, and won't enter service. Hmmn. Earlier loss of Harriers, and there was already going to be a gap between the Harrier and the JSF before this. So what, is the UK planning on having no aircraft for their carriers for a decade or so? Maybe you could lease some Super Hornets or Rafales...
  19. Post pics some day---I'd love to see a Lambo crusted in salt. It's a weird fantasy I've had for years--own a Lambo, get it covered in bugs and dust from a road trip, then drive it to a Wal-Mart and take pics of it next to some rusty old pickup. (because I swear if I ever owned one, I would drive it as often as possible, and everywhere---as opposed to the people who own one, drive it 400 miles a year, and have it spend more time getting detailed than actually out on the road)
  20. BTW, you don't just "scrap" F-117's. This is about 4th-hand from a pilot: Every bit of RAM is stripped off. The plane is then "traditionally" scrapped. Then they dig a big pit and dump the scrappings in. Then they douse it in gasoline and burn it. Then they fill the pit in, and put up a tombstone. There is a "graveyard" of F-117's.
  21. In short, yes. No color is more affected by spraying with regards to "opacity" than white. And you'll need to prime with dedicated primer first. Primer is inherently more opaque than paint and will cover underlying colors with few coats---it's much easier to paint white over light grey primer, than over dark blue.
  22. It's annoying how so many of the CAG birds were sent to the desert, instead of museums. Most of them had very fresh "final flight" paintjobs.
  23. Polycarb paints are very different---that's what they're labeled as such. And generally, they are even hotter than lacquers--they will eat many plastics, not just paint and decals.
  24. I think the reverse is true. I hear video games in a lot of recent music---most notably, I swear--Sonic the Hedgehog.
