  1. Slightly OT again, but a beavertail/tailcone/stinger is fairly "unimportant" for actually flying, its shape/presence will mainly just affect drag. F-14's spent years flying with parts of theirs hacked off. For many valks, it merely lays on top of the arms--most of the aft fuselage is still made up of the arms. And even if the arms too were lost, it'd be ok. Look at the P-38--nothing between the booms for the most part, just empty space.
  2. Ultrasaurus is the best zoid ever, by far IMHO. Sad fact: many dino zoids no longer really exist. Seismosaurus has been reclassed as just a new species of Diplodocus, if that--maybe merely a morph of D. longus. Ultrasaurus is not a brachiosaur, but a diplodocoid, and also not a new genus, but actually a Supersaurus.
  3. Heh, maybe he recorded a few non-CW lines for Lucasfilm, and the Special Edition of Ep II/III will have him added in...
  4. Yeah, but the Joker didn't have "visual appeal to men when in a catsuit" as the character's primary defining aspect.
  5. I always found it funny that the Duel of the Fates music video had like 3 times as much dialog for Maul than the actual movie did. And one cut scene doubles it.
  6. Yeah, but if you didn't sacrifice the tailfins, then you've lost the arm(s) in battroid--making IT useless. Kinda gotta pick which mode you want to save. Of course, if you lose the TORSO in battroid because you didn't use the tailfins as shields, you've lost everything...
  7. Already posted these in the DX VF-27 thread, but:
  8. Don't forget that the legs actually go up high enough to fit flush with the back plate etc in fighter mode, that's one of the big improvements over the -25. Overall I think the -27 is 10x better than the -25, when it comes to the DX version. And of course, Grace's is olive-green. Fairly unique color for a valk--Brera's would have been unique if not for Nora, but now it just seems like a copy of Nora's, minus the gold. The Sv-51 and VF-27 both have that Russian-Flanker-spiky-canards look to them, so having TWO in the same general magenta color seems redundant, considering how few "main character" valks we've gotten in the past decade. Only other green valk I can think of is Luca's, and his is a pale minty green.
  9. Opposite for me--didn't see the finger, saw her expression.
  10. I had enough issues with integrated graphics that I vowed never to buy anything that had them. Nowadays it seems they've finally smartened up and it's much easier to disable them, but I still hate them. It's usually less of a 'driver' thing and more of a "going into the BIOS" thing to disable the on-board integrated graphics. The exact setting should in the your PC or motherboard manual, it's a common enough upgrade that they include instructions.
  11. I think two main things make it look "toy-ish": 1. Hinges/joints. Valk hinges are invisible. They're always retractable/covered up when animated. Don't include the toy's hinges on a model of a "real" valk. (tailfins/backpack I especially notice in fighter mode) 2. Landing gear. Too big/thick. Make everything thinner.
  12. I considered it, but I doubted anyone does. Note to people---if by some chance you DO have multiple green VF-27's, don't vote yet, let me know and I'll change the poll.
  13. The Sv-51 is certainly much more capable in the multi-role aspects. It seems equipped for air/land/sea, in all 3 modes. VF-0 seems more like "battroid for ground, fighter for air".
  14. I'm curious as to how rare it is, on MW at least. Rarer than the Low-Vis V1, etc? I don't really care who *doesn't* own one, I suspect 99% of MW doesn't, so there's no "no" option.
  15. IIRC, modern race engines tend to have little to no filtration, because the engines aren't expected to last very long, and/or get torn down often which will allow you to clean everything out and polish parts back to spec etc. "Civillian" cars are intended to last for years, and hopefully never be totally torn down piece-by-piece. So they require much more filtration.
  16. Eek! The F-20 is second only to the YF-23 for "awesome planes I love that never got built but should have won because they were better". I'm especially interested in F-20 weapon load pics, especially mixed loads with Sparrows or Mavericks. Any Shrike/HARMs?
  17. Not a big Hathaway fan. I don't dislike her or anything but she's not even in the top 50 I think for who I'd pick for Catwoman.
  18. The detachable legs thing is the cause of most of this toy's problems IMHO. Seriously, does anyone EVER do it on purpose? You can't even display it like that. But trying to move things around without them coming off, and re-attaching them when they inevitably do, lead to a full on crack-separation on the thigh of mine. Did the most durable repair I could, let the glue dry for weeks, but have only transformed it twice or so since then. I don't know if it'll hold.
  19. I like the armor, honestly. It's more battle-worthy than her micro-skirt was... Anyways---is Lightning's real name still a spoiler? I've avoided ever saying it here, but the first thought in my mind when I saw that pic--was her real name, and not "Lightning".
  20. Testors is a brand, not a particular type. They make acrylics, enamels, and lacquers. I know wm cheng likes their Model Master acrylic clears. But their infamous dullcote is a lacquer. I like Testors enamel semi-gloss, but Tamiya for a dull coat.
