  1. Does the leg-holster actually open/work, or parts swapping?
  2. Is that the new 1/1000 snap-tight? I have looked everywhere and no shop in this state I think has it. (even the ones that I know have Trekkies working there)
  3. Head of the F-35 project predicts IOC delayed to 2017+. Makes those who bought "interim" planes look smarter all the time.
  4. Then I guess you really wouldn't like my current technique (last 3 Gundams)---"sublime green" for the eyes and head sensor. Brightest green paint on the planet. If I can't light with an LED, then I want them visible from angles other than "looking up from below with sunlight directly on them".
  5. See, IMHO only the bright neon ones look good by themselves. Everything else is too dark--eyes are always the biggest problem--they're so deeply set back that light never hits them.
  6. I am so vindicated. Though if he were a Grace fan---why no merchandise of her?!?
  7. Green eye parts----had a thought. My first Gundam kits were the 1/144 and 1/100 Gundam Wing ones. Most of the 1/100 ones had the "eye and head sensor" piece molded in a neon-green clear plastic. I thought it worked very well. But I never see it any more. Do any recent kits do that? Most go with a crystal-clear plastic. IMHO that sucks, as most of them are WAY too small to easily light, the super-clear plastic is brittle, and the parts are always too deep to attempt to use silver paint to create a reflection etc. And not to mention that it's very hard to see where the eye outlines are on that super-clear plastic. You just end up having to paint it opaque green and black anyways. Or in general---are "colored transparent" plastics used much any more for anything other than beam saber blades? (and Unicorn Destroy mode). Lately it seems Bandai is just molding everything in crystal clear, even when the part would need to be 100% painted to look right (MG Wing for example--every part that's molded clear needs to be trans-green). And due to how transparent paints visibly "pool" around every tab, nook, cranny, and sprue mark, if they were molded in color the final result would look more even. In short--I miss the formerly-common clear-neon-green parts.
  8. Urban legend that's been going around for a zillion years in a zillion variations.
  9. Just an FYI but I still have my SubZero code, if anyone's interested in trading a Mileena for it.
  10. The question is if there's any drawings of Grace in there.
  11. When the PG Wing Zero Custom was re-released, I ordered a spare sprue "A" from HLJ to do some experimenting/replacements to see if I can improve on some of the more visible bits. (this sprue includes all the yellow, clear green, and most of the chest armor). My "clear yellow over silver" for the yellow bits never did turn out that well (Tamiya clear yellow is so sticky and clumpy no matter how you thin it) so I plan to strip them and try just some "bright brass" spray paint or something--with the new set of plain yellow ones as a backup in case they're ruined in the attempt. I've also noticed over the years that the wings are made of a slightly different plastic than normal, and my standard "Pigma Micron" ink NEVER really dried on them. It's been like a decade now! So I've been removing the over-done inking (really, it's hard to make those wings look good, short of master-level skilled airbrushing of various shades of very pale blue and grey which is beyond my abilities). Anyways, I've been considering ways to make the wings look better. Spraying clear pearl over them sounds like a quick and easy way, but colors like that tend to be VERY sensitive to how much is in a given spot, and like clear green etc----even SLIGHT thickness variations and pooling tend to be very visible. Simply replacing the thick black ink with thinner lines of grey inking (combination of better equipment plus a few more years experience) I'm certain will make them look better, but I'd really like to make them look, you know, "angelic". But that's really hard with solid blocks of white plastic and rubber feathers... (I need to see if I can order a spare feather or two as well--one discolored on the tip, never figured out how/why---almost a rust color)
  12. I haven't unwrapped my copy yet, but I liked the demo. Button/controls-wise, reminded me of DOA/Tekken. More DOA if anything. ::edit:: unwrapped. I'm guessing the codes are console-specific, since it mentions PSN and the card is specifically a "PS3" SubZero card. Leaving it sealed for the moment, in case someone wants to trade.
  13. Anyone want to trade a Klassic Scorpion code for a Klassic SubZero code? I don't know if the codes are console-specific, but I can offer a PS3 SubZero code. Also might be willing to trade SubZero for Mileena.
  14. Gah. You know, despite Voltron "The Third Dimension"'s overall suckiness, the music was pretty good. Especially when they used the original songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBD2m7zYub0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dctSurakKRM (yes, it's the original Voltron in the pic, but the music is 3D's)

  16. My reissue Rattler still collapses the starboard gear all the time. Nail polish at the joint doesn't help at all.

  19. No kidding. From the various forums it seems like the retailers (and Hasbro) are already "holding back" for the next movie. Which means nothing on the shelves right now.
  20. It's red. Just like Char's Zaku.
  21. Question for those who have some of the Evangelion figs: Are the faces/heads/hair swappable between characters, or does each one have a unique enough shape etc that you can't mix and match? (and if anyone has the 2.0 Revoltechs, same question)
  22. They could include many schemes on a single decal sheet---if the modeler is intended to paint the leg striping, then there's very few markings needed for the basic Mac+ and M7 schemes. PS--yeah, I'd prefer a Perfect Grade battroid mode MAXL from Bandai, but I'll take what I can get.
  23. Yup. I still have an extra un-built 1/144, so that I can do a better job than the last one. As for the standard VF-11: The thing is, the "official" side-view you see just doesn't match the animation. The VF-11 has big, triangular fins. But that one "official side-view drawing" every publication uses as a reference, doesn't match at all. If Hase bases the kit off that---it won't match Plus/7/VFX/etc. Here, I made this a while ago---it's not right for SIZE but it is correct for SHAPE---the top is the original/official drawing, the bottom is my "tweak" to make it actually match what we see on-screen and in Kawamori's sketches:
