  1. Re: "a decade old game". Well, it's more recent than M+ itself is, and has a whole lot more VF-11 action, too.
  2. Green Zaku's at least have "that military look", do to being multiple shades of camo green. The M7 VF-11C just looks "unfinished". Sure it may have the most screen time, but doesn't make it the most-wanted. We see a lot more red Vajra's than Ozma's valk, but what's more desired? It's more of a "time spent being awesome" than "total time spent on-screen" thing. The VF-11C spends most of its time being blown-up in stock footage. As do red vajras. Ozma really isn't seen that much, but when he is--he's being awesome.
  3. More like "most boring over-used schemes ever". It wasn't the design/fame/price, but the uninspired paint they used. Let's see: 1. M+ grey! Again! Like the previous 2 Yamato VF-11B's I had... Grey+orange isn't that neat a scheme in the first place. You can do Jolly Rogers over and over again because IT'S AWESOME. Grey+orange is not. 2. M7 "blow-up white". THE most boring valk scheme ever, it looks like the un-built VF-1 kit. With subtle pink accents. Yeah, plain white+little pink bits is what every valk fan wanted on the 2nd release... I think a GOOD scheme would sell better. Like, you know, the much-fan-requested VFX-2. Did Yamato listen at all to our requests? Who asked for M7 boring white? I don't remember seeing many. But I did see VFX-2 a lot... And of course, Milia. Milia often sells out---see how many red VF-1J's you can buy right now without paying over MSRP.
  4. Better pic of Liara fig: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dr_teng/6243291131/sizes/l/in/photostream/
  5. The Liara figure looks less and less like Liara every time: http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?dispsize=800&mode=view&album=2011_New_York_Comic_Con%2FKotobukiya&pic=IMG_6861.jpg If the face was EXACTLY like the initial artwork, I'd have bought it. But now the face isn't Liara at all. Or even asari, IMHO.
  6. Me too, as she's got no less than 2 of them--the M3 and M7 versions. It's got 10x the "presence" of some of the releases Yamato's done.
  7. I've only watched the Mon Calamari arc. I'm sticking to my "if it sounds stupid from the description, I'll pass" method that I've had since season one. I guess I'll have to revise it though: "If it appears that Jar-Jar, Padme, *OR C-3PO* are the main focus of the ep, skip it"
  8. The default F-14 scheme is basically VF-103. Basically---you are allowed to alter the colors of the patterns already given. The B-1B is going to be 1 color overall based on pattern 1. The F-4E can get quite complex. The F-14 pattern 1 is basically "overall color, and spine/fintips". The Rafale and F-4E are the only planes I've unlocked other colors for, and they do give completely different patterns/options. Nosecones are almost always able to be a separate color. Basically---you cannot "take a brush and draw" on the plane. You can however change the colors of each aspect. (not necessarily independently though----on the F-4E the shark mouth interior is its own thing, but some planes link multiple things) I have seen a pure red F-15 with black tiger stripes online, but I don't yet have a tiger-stripe pattern so I don't know what it takes to get it. I've only done online a bit, but it seems generally similar to AC6, but with more options. Basically--capture the flag, destroy the base, and deathmatch. And a few "co-op versions of campaign missions".
  9. It's not upcoming, it's out. I've held it in my hands. No true stern piece though, that's a huge disappointment to me. Every "real" LEGO Pirate ship has had bow and stern pieces, and X number of "center section" pieces. The later ones have identical bow and stern bases with an extra "bow cap" piece, but they still have dedicated "ends". The Black Pearl has a brick-built stern. The Queen Anne's revenge has an awesome color scheme (and sails), but IMHO they just didn't translate the design well. Look at it from behind---the huge obvious railings and arches aren't there. Way too much "skeletal" design, not enough railings/arches. It's the opposite of how it "really" looks. The bone decoration in the movie is fairly small and subtle, but the railings are huge and ornate.
  10. I know it supports SOMETHING I just can't remember which. (I don't own/use any)
  11. Some notes: Much harder than the demo. There is a "ground assault" version of DFM but you can ignore it most of the time and do it "classic AC style", and it's much more fun that way. (it seems to have issues when you're SUPER low to the ground, strafing) More variation in missions than I expected. AC-130 is totally unique, every heli mission has been different chopper/weapons, just unlocked the B-1B. You can customize aircraft colors. (not "aircrafts" as the game says--sigh, that's becoming as common as "irregardless") Yes, there's a few "plot" chases/kills where "enemy dies only after following him through a valley" ---but most are in the first stage you saw in the demo. Really only seen 2 since. It has made me wonder about the final stage though, as you know there's going to be a tunnel of some sort... F-14 controls correctly! Tailplanes-only with wings swept! F-4 ailerons still wrong though. Everything's faster, roll/pitch-wise. Even the F-4 is fast. Rafale is TOO fast. Gripen's almost too fast. Differences among planes seem marginalized. (since everything's fast, and the really fast ones are so fast you never really use it---you only move the stick half-way to slow it down) Lots of planes unlocked from the beginning. Plane selection seems mainly limited by mission, not so much "what's unlocked". Having the Rafale and F-15E right off the bat seemed kinda pointless---why even have lesser planes then? Haven't used MiG-21 yet, but did have fun with the F-4E. (Sparrows do still rock at long-range, Phoenixes still "not as good as you'd like") IRIS-T is godly.
  12. I'd sell most all my other valks to get a MAXL Kai. (as in Mylene's, not the quasi-canon non-Mylene MAXL variant)
  13. Shawn is currently updating the database/forums etc. I just turned the forums back online to see if it's stable and whatnot. Current skin is only temporary, we'll get it back to "standard MW colors" as soon as we get all the bugs worked out.
  14. Bumping, as it's the main VF-11 thread but it's fallen outside the default topic view range. Plus--hey Graham, any hints as to the next VF-11B release? Milia M3? VFX-2?
  15. They throw massives bones, and frequently. Just not merchandise-wise. But in many other ways.
  16. Their other big new show is My Little Pony. (of course, that seems to have more adult fans than kids...)
  17. Thing -1. Then they could make the sequel to the original, Thing 2. Then it gets all Seussian.
  18. Yup, don't worry about Ebay--sell it here! Always plenty of willing valk buyers for most any type.
  19. With the cost (and shelf space) of valks nowadays, I've pretty much given up on "multiple versions of the same basic design" and try to have as "different-looking" as possible. I even plan to get down to just one VF-1. That gives me a slight dilemma: I *really* like the VF-25's armor, IMHO it's the defining feature of the VF-25----a very skinny battroid so that it can equip bulky armor yet still TRANSFORM, unlike the VF-0/1/11 "battroid only" armor. And armor=Ozma. However, it is yet again the "black and yellow skull" markings, so it's not THAT different from my Roy. And, you almost never see it with boosters--would almost seem a waste to spend the money on boosters for it. Alto's has a fairly unique scheme to me (I have never owned a Hikaru valk) and is commonly seen with boosters, and occasionally with armor so "every configuration" is justified spending the money to acquire the parts. But I already have the model kit, so it wouldn't seem "that new" to me. Plus--no giant skull on the back. (and it just plain doesn't look as cool with the armor IMHO---the armor seems to work better with the darker colors) ::edit:: A final option could be to acquire a V2 Milia VF-1 and sell my V2 Roy, but that would be $$$$$ at the moment. (I really hope for a Milia VF-11B to be released, that would be very unique)
  20. Yeah, I'll definitely snag Prime Arcee. I'd love an Airachnid too, but that design seems nigh-impossible to translate into reality. I'd buy a Knockout fig, too, I think. Decepticon cars=awesome.
  21. Shaorin---I'll third Valkyria Chronicles Tober---posted that yesterday/last page.
  22. I voted 5000B. (I love the 5000, but never liked the M7 color scheme)
  23. I want my house to be made of 747 wings: http://www.studioea.com/projects/residential/wing_house/#2
