Will it strip the underlaying clear lacquer layer, off of chromed parts? (getting the chrome itself off is easy, it's the stuff between the plastic and the chrome, that is often incredibly stubborn)

Arcadia 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-0D for 2015
David Hingtgen replied to Dark_Ghost's topic in Toys
Yup. One zip-loc bag per valk. (or any other collectible with swappable pieces) -
The trailer is too(read: utterly) rigidly connected to the cab, they should move/twist slightly independently, for "realism-feel".

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
David Hingtgen replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Should have mentioned that it arrived early and I opened it early. Got another week actually. (will be no B-day party or dinner this year, COVID, so may as well enjoy what aspects I can) -

I've always wondered WHY they don't fit/fold right. It's clearly a design flaw, and not just a tolerances issue IMHO. But I never could figure out for sure "what was wrong", and if Takara's at fault any. (they're not great on the actual ones, but the OS ones seem to be much worse)- 9143 replies

No, the issue is that a large part of the fandom clearly does want EXACT replicas of the toon, every error and detail-barren limb copied in plastic. HasTak is giving it to them, at least in the MP line.- 16710 replies

I want to say they forgot to draw the dividing line, for the front cockpit windows, in that frame. Pointy nose----is that from Call of the Primitives? Of course an example can be found in the toon for everything. Doesn't mean one should ignore 95% of a character's animated frames in favor of "that one scene where it's off-model". (which Takara loves to do!)- 16710 replies

I had it in my cart (25% off at Gamestop) but never checked out. Too many little things bug me, mainly as a shuttle fan, but partly also as a Sky Lynx fan: 1. Wings aren't a double-delta, they're just single triangles. This is the single biggest issue I have with shuttle mode. Even the most simple, stylized shuttle silhouette shows the leading edge changes angles drastically: 2. Goofy legs in bird mode. Somehow, G1 looked better IMHO. Is it the feet? 3. Pointy, rat-like nose. The CW version was even worse, but I just don't "get" this trend with Sky Lynx lately. He has NEVER had a pointy nose. Until recent toys. 4. Central window for cockpit. Makes him look like a cyclops. WHY? Now his "face" is kinda weird, due to this+pointy nose. The actual shuttle AS-IS makes for a perfect "face". But they're straying further and further from that. Sky Lynx has no robot mode, the shuttle's nose and cockpit is his face. I don't get how people can argue for hours over minor differences in the toon for MP characters (see latest MP V2 Starscream discussion about his upper-forehead vent-scoop width, movie vs series), yet "completely messing with the entire face" for Sky Lynx is just kinda glossed over, when NO appearance of him was like this at all? 5. Everything else everyone has mentioned.- 16710 replies

False canopies are awesome. Even 1/100 of a second of confusion/second-guessing can be the critical edge to gain an advantage... -
Sci-Fi is fine, and even desired, for many characters. But not Snake Eyes. Or Storm Shadow. Or Spirit! Their whole thing is "old-school fighting, and kicking ass by doing so". (old-school including uzi's, of course)

Arcadia 1/60 VF-4A ‘Flashback 2012’ Premium Finish & Regular Release
David Hingtgen replied to no3Ljm's topic in Toys
I've waited so long, it's like I no longer care/need it now that it's finally here. If the normal version ends up being over-produced/going on sale, I'll pick one up. But not at 300+ shipping from Japan. (which, will likely be very expensive for a very long time)- 1112 replies

I've been tempted by the Su-24, it's a cool/unique plane. (never actually seen one though). Ironically the latest Ukrainian release looks the best so far. I may end up with a mostly Ukrainian collection of "Russian" planes. (My only Flanker sighting was in Ukrainian camo, though no longer owned by Ukraine at that point). Would love a model of it: -
Found wave 1 at my local Target. No tags for Cobra Island etc. Picked up Snake Eyes, my first Classified figure. ::edit:: Sword is ridiculously soft and rubbery, desperately need a hard plastic replacement so it doesn't droop. Also, IMHO, the guns look worse in person. Need authentic uzi or MAC-10 etc. Would definitely buy a modern "battle pack" if it had real weapons and not sci-fi:

I like it. I think a lot of ISD models "over-do it". The Empire seems to have kept them pretty clean. There's a difference between "accentuating detail" and "making it look dirty"----far too many ISD's end up the latter, IMHO.

The coloring is REALLY good for a "weathered, mass-produced F-14". If only Hasbro's "Maverick" toy looked 1/10 as good...

Considering how budget-constrained (ironically?) flight-hours and upgrades etc are, an enhanced engine on an old, flight-display-only Super Hornet seems kind of a waste. They're already stripped down, and fly with small fuel loads. They should have "enough" performance as-is. -

Or the short version: The wings split top/bottom, so that you can stuff all the tailfins inside them, for a fin-less bot-mode.- 16710 replies

Cargo transporters operate at a lower "resolution", than stuff intended for life-forms. I believe it is "quantum" vs "molecular" resolution. Since you need "quantum" level, to preserve all the "fine details" of the mind, you need to have Heisenberg compensators etc. But "low-res" cargo can omit much of that, and operate at far lower power requirements, since if it's only 99.99999% accurate, that's fine for most matter. (at which point, a cargo transporter, and a replicator, are pretty similar tech....)- 2171 replies
