  1. Here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36937&p=1024652 That's pretty much all there is, and FP didn't even release those pics to the public. The color pic of the 4 limbs in bot mode is the ONLY other official info there is. And your own interpretations of the early prototypes in the post I linked to.
  2. Basically, every insider and person who's asked TFC, has said it is Predaking. So yeah, quite a waste, as it'll be the third and last version, and is neither G1 nor classics-style. I'll reiterate one of my fave comments/complaints: if you can't tell from the silhouette, then it's not a good representation of the character. The sheer fact that people are still debating who it is, even with all 5 revealed, says a lot about how little they resemble, well, anybody.
  3. Almost certainly Sara's costume, and having it be Sheryl makes a whole lot more sense than anyone else.
  4. That's be awesome, but I doubt Takara would approve it, since they're not a top-tier character(s). Plus Hasbro might complain that they just did the FOC version, lessening demand. However--the Combaticons ARE at their peak of popularity due to the game, and it'd be insane to attempt an official MP Devastator at this point--so what better combiner to pick? Fame-wise, it's pretty much "Devastator, and everybody else". Important note---since Takara is on a "purely G1 animated appearance" kick, that would bode well for Blast-Off's wings etc forming the chest-shield. I consider that aspect essential to a MP-level Bruticus. It's awesome, solves the problem of Blast-Off's wings getting in the way of things in arm-mode, and eliminates the need for a huge chunk of gestalt-only kibble or trying to build it into Onslaught. Really, look at the issue of the chest-plate. Devastator's is formed from pieces, Menasor's stores in the trailer since Motormaster has a little roller like Prime does, Predaking uses Razorclaw's mane. But look what happened to Superion/Uranos---it's fugly, even with a whole 'nother plane dedicated to it. Imagine the same thing for Bruticus---having a big silver flying spaceship for a chest shield, matching the original toy. Not gonna work, not well at least. But using Blast-Off's wings and forward-upper fuselage? Solves a LOT of chest-plate issues. Really, Abominus may have the worst of it all when it comes to chest-plates----his just has nowhere to go when they're in beast mode. (Piranacon's is Snaptrap's shell, and Defensor's can easily store inside/underneath Hotspot's truck mode, since they're just multiple flat plates stuck together)
  5. Same here. If/when I buy Hercules, it will be the basic set and nothing more. Every add-on makes it look "different, but not better" to me. Mainly they introduce more G1 aesthetic in a figure/design which is NOT G1, and it starts looking weird. Like the ultra-G1 heads available for him. They look weird on his very not-G1 body. (plus, adding a dozen extra parts really defeats the whole point of their original "no separate kibble" design--integrated forearms and head, fists can hide away in vehicle mode----why on earth would you go back to having separate thigh-bits between the legs and waist just like G1 had?)
  6. While I am anal about planes----yeah, it IS a toy robot, and a toy plane. You could have bought a Gundam, and a toy SR-71, and it wouldn't be any different at all. Phantom and Eagle were nice---but Silverbolt just kills the set by being utterly horribly lazy. (and Falcon and Harrier WILL be inferior to Phantom and Eagle, trust me on this) 2 decent bots out of a 5-member team is not worth buying. We expected BETTER engineering/design from a new TFC combiner, not inferior to their first attempt, Hercules. Even if the molds were all good, the color scheme is getting worse and worse-----Hercules looked nice, but Uranos is just ghastly red/grey/yellow. Superion isn't/wasn't white---he's mostly light grey exactly like a DYRL valk. But few people seem to realize this, and it's making all the colors look bad because they want a WHITE Superion. Well, this is what you get when you make a WHITE Superion. G1 Slingshot was white, and Fireflight's wings were white. But Silverbolt, and all the Superion kibble, was DYRL grey. And it makes the colors mesh much better with the grey/red/black of the others. Hercules's hue is a far cry from G1 green, but it still looks nice. But TFC seemed to have tweaked all of the colors in the wrong direction for Uranos. TLDR: If all the bots were as nice as Phantom, I'd have bought the set.
  7. Purple? Hmmmn. That's rare for a valk. Any screen caps? I'm curious about exactly what hue of purple. (I'm hyper-picky about purple, I only like certain ones)
  8. Ok, then what are the other colors available for YF-30 striping? Kakizaki green and Fokker yellow?
  9. I'm curious about the blue YF-30. But I too, want Isamu's -29 above all else.
  10. Watch DYRL and Plus next. Get the shortest/best stuff done first.
  11. IMHO, Reprolabels has been going overboard lately. They want to cover up like 90% of a figure. Massive sheets that wrap around corners and edges with 16 folds to cover an entire arm. Also, trying TOO hard to get every last G1 detail on a new version that just won't work with it. The whole "you don't have to/shouldn't use them ALL" point is valid, but it is making some sheets very big and very expensive, when you only want a few key, core stickers that make a big impact. I'd really like some of their sheets to be available in smaller "essentials" versions. I bet they'll be making "G1 Stunticon" sheets for the FP Menasor, and they're going to try to put every one of the G1 bot-mode markings on the new figures---and they'll look ghastly if they do. Have you seen the new FoC Swindle sheet? They sticker his wheels. All of it. Hub, sidewalls, and treads. Because his other alt-mode is sorta based on the SDF-1. And he also turns into a jet. A transforming jet robot. Based on Macross. See the pattern?
  12. Re: Divebomb. It's just a render, that's not plastic. Other than "black" it's impossible to know exactly what hues the actual finished toy will have. Absolutely. It's this one: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/632409-predaking-2-0-revised-edition.html
  13. God do I hate electronic buzzing sounds. LCD, CRT, speakers with no signal---they all buzz. If plasma TV's emit a more noticeable hum, then I'd despise them. (I've never really had a chance to examine one in a "viewing environment"---only at BestBuy and during family get-togethers, so only surrounded by other noises)
  14. It used to be quite the opposite---"game mode" circa 2005 would turn on most every "image-enhancing" option there was, to try to create greater contrast and "pop". This would of course, kill performance and induce lag. I highly suspect there were very few TV-designers who played games or something during that period, and their test-subject was their kid's copy of Mario Party or something, and their goal was to make it look as much like a box of crayons as possible. (and we all know Mario Party pays no attention to what you actually press on the controller, it's utterly luck/BS, so any actual performance issues would be invisible)
  15. I very much likes the sides of the new Ferrari, but the ends (especially the front) seem way too vertical and angular to go with those scooped curves. You'd think the front and rear fascias came from a different car. The new Lambo is at least consistent---saw-tooth angles, everywhere.
  16. That's surprising---did they finally get smart? I know that a couple years ago, game mode was universally awful.
  17. Not a word on the new Lambo? http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-veneno-in-detail-geneva-2013/ (though of course, it's even rarer than the Reventon, basically a concept car you'll never actually see----less than 1 per continent)
  18. True for all TV's---ANYTHING they attempt to tweak/fiddle/enhance will slow things down. You want the raw unfiltered signal going straight from the console to the screen. Motion interpolation, "smoothing"---all bad! If something can be turned off in the menu, do so. Turn off everything you can. You may have to set the TV to "movie" or "cinema" mode first to be able to turn some things off-----movie/cinema mode is usually the "purest" mode on a TV, with few "enhancements" active. Sadly, "game mode" is often among the worst possible things to do.
  19. Takara goes for G1 animation, period, for MP's lately. That means Prowl's symbol is centered, with nothing on his leg. It's why Sideswipe has no blue markings at all, despite the toy's many stickers. (and an all-white rocket launcher)
  20. And if the rumors are to believed, Lambo has already ended Takara's license agreement. No further production/re-issues. If you want Sideswipe or Red Alert---buy now, or you'll never have one outside of ebay. (it's to the point that Tigertrack may be cancelled)
  21. I'm certain he'd have recognized them if he saw the actual toy. I mean, it'd be nigh-impossible to identify Wildrider or DeadEnd's alt-modes from the show.
  22. Yeah, but what kind of bumper stickers would Hasbro print on Bluestreak? Maybe give him spinners, dub wheels, and other inappropriate crap like they did to Thundercracker.
