  1. Ok, took some pics. Painted wipers, side mirrors, headlight surrounds, visor, and marker lights silver on truck cab. Red and silver for tail lights. Painted shins red in bot mode as well as two small areas on the chest-plate. Painted center of head-crest silver. Tried to paint head antennas silver, but they're molded of a rubber that won't take any paint I could find---tried several times, let some paints dry for literally YEARS and it still wiped right off. So just left them white. Here's someone's stock Magnus for comparison:
  2. Was that article machine-translated from another language? It hurt my brain trying to actually read it. "The Extremis uses, also at this stage, all the nutrients and body mass to reshape the existing body, creating new agencies stronger, powerful and resilient" "Once the modification is made Cerebral closed, this same body system evaluates the entire human body as erroneous and injured, then sending the information to the brain that all the body, externally and internally, is wrong, completely transforming it into a wound open to be healed and changed the standards that the Extremis recently rewritten" Yeah, everything makes way more sense now...
  3. Interesting---it seems to open the missile bay doors to act like a Harrier's strakes. I don't recall that on the X-35.
  4. Well, that sucks. The little rotating black triangle piece under the intake everyone breaks? Mine just did when putting it back into fighter mode to box up and sell. Guess I can't ask as much money for it any more. That piece lasted only 1.5 transformations, and I was being insanely slow and careful each time due to knowing that piece was fragile... So, from out of the box, it went from fighter, to GERWALK, to battroid, to deciding to sell it, and about 2/3 of the way back to fighter mode, before that piece snapped off. And yeesh, that piece wasn't even stressed or anything---I think I may have lightly brushed it with my pinky while slowly moving the shoulder pads into place. Geez Bandai, couldn't you have thought up a more fragile design that's more precariously placed/moved?
  5. Back to real planes, and visible science! Please let me know if this is a red x. And I never noticed it before, but DANG if those tail planes aren't straight from an airliner. Makes me wonder if they aren't actually re-used from an A330...
  6. Even their "fixed with stolen designs" 1/32 Flanker has issues after revising, I can't imagine they did that well on their 1/72. Trumpeter is the king of "totally awful intake and canopy shapes despite copious reference". Their 1/32 F-14 is the worst F-14 money can buy, despite being the newest/biggest one around. It looks like a swing-wing F-15...
  7. The "extra" click takes much more force than the other positions, in my experience.
  8. Yeah, checking the prices for Thundercracker---he's not worth selling. Ultra Magnus though---probably will. Will take pics soon so people can see what I did to him.
  9. I would hope Yellow 13 comes molded in yellow. Much easier to paint grey camo over that than vice-versa.
  10. Everyone's seen the awesome video trailer for the MG 3.0 RX-78, right?
  11. Dang, I'm not generally one for "fake" model planes, but I would buy Yellow 13... (if I could get one pre-painted, I suck at camo---and little white fins on missiles) Hase's new Su-33 is probably about the most accurate Flanker model out there. PS---surely it comes with alternate markings for Yellow 4?
  12. FYI my Springer has been sold, but I do plan to sell off my remaining Titaniums----Thundercracker and G1 Magnus. UM has been customized a bit---silver/chrome accents on cab where needed, and red shin details.
  13. Yup. Though I used clear nail polish on mine. The -27 gets loose joints just due to sheer age. It is annoying that even if you keep it in fighter mode 99% of the time, all the arm joints get loose---and they're not even stressed in that mode. I mean, you'd expect it to get loose if it was holding up the ginormous gunpod for a year straight in battrodi mode---but not just sitting there tucked away. But they do.
  14. Short answer---zero. Don't worry. At all.
  15. 1200 cars? And I bet not a one I've actually driven, and maybe like 0.2% can be found in the local mall's parking lot...
  16. I'm waiting for the voyager-scaled version of FT Quakewave. I'm a fairly big Shockwave fan, but I don't really need one THAT big or expensive.
  17. Adding clear nail polish to the hinges and/or edges fixes every valk gear door I've ever tried it on.
  18. Really? I think MP seekers are 10x easier. You at least know when you're "done" with a section. Most of the time with a -171 it's more like "well, I guess that's it for this step---the part positioning is about an 85% match to the drawing in the manual, but nothing really "clicked" into place nor seems to be locked at max extension..."
  19. 25 shipped? Probably cheaper than driving around various Targets hunting for it all the time... (also guaranteed to not have mis-matched thighs, which has happened to several people at TFW)
