  1. Yeah, the flower-petal rims do seem like an oversight. If the edge itself was a bit thicker/brighter, everything would be solved. But the way it's blacked-out...
  2. Above all else--"Milia red" is a blue-red, not an orange-red. Crimson or blood, not scarlet. Anything vermillion/ochre is going to turn out wrong. If you're adding anything orangey or scarlet to try to 'brighten' it, you're going the wrong way. For a "common" color that may work, try Insignia Red. If you've got access to railroad colors----Soo red would be great, for a "deep" Milia red.
  3. As pretty much all my cars and my likely next one are in that category (powerful sedan) I am curious as to your impression of it. While I feel the SHO has good specs/performance, I think they're asking too much money over the lower-end Taurus. Same issue with the SRT-8 versions of any Dodge (though Dodge is much worse---an SRT-8 is often like an extra 10 grand, for "a slightly more powerful version of the Hemi"----the SHO at least gets you a whole new engine that is a lot more powerful than the next level down) Anyways, I just spent several valk's worth of money on 4 of these today: (Bridgestone Potenza RE970) Really, when it comes to tires, I flat-out buy the best I can get for my car. (not a whole lot of selection for my car, a very weird combo of sizes, and the OEM is no longer made) No matter what engine, brakes, or suspension you may have---only the tires touch the road. EVERYTHING depends on them. THEY interact with the road, not any other part. Ever seen a car you used to own, now with cheap ugly tires put on by the new owner? It can be sad. Many people seem to ignore the LOOKS of a tire, thinking it's "wheels, wheels, wheels". But oh man can bland/weird tires ruin a car's look. (luckily, I've never had tires with an inherently ugly design, but I did once have to deal with "brown" tires----that sucked, and I now personally inspect every tire I buy prior to installation)
  4. Can't really say it any better than that. Make that piece tan! (or beige)
  5. That's way too "MP Prime" and not "G1 Prime" to interest me. Legs alone scream "we just copied the MP look". It's kind of an MP-01/MP-10 hybrid---but the worst elements of each.
  6. Is there a non-Alto-ish scheme in the game? Basically--I want this valk, but don't want 2 "white with black and red" Frontier-series valks in my collection. I'd like to "wait for a repaint" if there is one. Of course, they could always just "invent" a scheme like they did for the 30th-ann Ozma-Fokker YF-29...
  7. I may have to get the game just so I can justify buying the DX! Anyone got a quick summary/opinion on "just how well one can enjoy the game, not knowing any Japanese"? (the main thread for the game is way too huge to crawl through now)
  8. Same. Waited a long time to get one (not until Xenosaga) and it was almost worth it for that alone. Sure wasn't worth it for Skyward Sword.
  9. I would like the YF-19 canopy to be "slightly tinted". But would definitely prefer totally clear over "deep blue" if the only options are the two extremes.
  10. That looks much better. I'd call it more dark taupe than dark khaki. (taupe has more grey)
  11. It's going to be months before it's actually finished. Bovis was the first and so far only piece actually released. These are pics of an early test from the factory of the last 3 members that MMC sent to Peaugh. Colors and paint apps aren't final--even the Bovis in that group is an early test. Part of the reason they sent it to Peaugh is so he can test it out and see what needs to be tweaked before the remaining members actually go into production. That said, he's been testing out the articulation: And some size comparisons: Gah, our forum isn't allowing linking to the full-size versions of the pics, even via thumbnail---go here for full-size versions: https://twitter.com/Peaugh/media
  12. This. That type of foot, and "wing-mounted engines" (boosters in the case of the Sv-51) are now the established "bad-guy" cues for valks. Any future "evil" valkyrie is almost certain to have 3-toed feet, and 4 engines. And probably have some purple/fuschia. (remember, we saw Nora's before Ivanov's, and I think Nora had more screen time, too)
  13. I sold my fold booster along with my -19 years ago. I want/need a new one.
  14. I'm trying to think---what scheme for a VF-14? Heck, it's best-known canon appearance I think is M3. And that's about it AFAIK...
  15. That's pretty awful. Especially considering the engineering that went into the ROTF leader-class. Ah well, more money for 3P stuff.
  16. I don't recall it ever being olive-tan in *any* scene.
  17. I have tried, and tried, and tried, to finish FF2. Pure JP, partially translated ROM, and actual US release eventually. Made no difference. Even "cheating" the levelling system---just horrid, horrid gameplay. Got to the Tower Of Mysidia(?) in the US version (furthest I ever got) and that was it--couldn't continue, could find no way to continue that didn't require literally 2400 uses of the "Esuna" spell to get all 4 characters to learn Esuna strong enough (level 6) to cure "Confuse". (because like every other enemy there casts confuse-all every other turn----and so every battle turns into "my party kills itself, very slowly". And I looked and searched and could find no item nor armor that prevented confuse. So basically----impassable. Combined with the fact that the fighting system itself is very slow and no fun at all.
  18. At this point I hope there's a new fold booster---I sold mine a while ago, along with my old -19! And as has been said----there's much better/smaller LED's now, they could REALLY light it up neat nowadays.
  19. Yeah, "khaki" is a good term to describe the gunpod color there. As is the word "wrong". WTF are they looking at for gunpod reference? Surely some of the Japanese forums etc are mentioning the gunpod color? If not--can someone here mention it to Mr K's twitter?
  20. Price being equal, I'd have bought the Takara MP-10. The eyes are very easy to paint---pop the head open, remove the eyes, paint them with your choice of light blue paint. Best of both worlds. Whereas you can't really change the leg color of US TRU MP-10. But for like 1/3 the price of the JP version, I'll live with the bright blue. Same for Rodimus actually----I prefer the JP version's colors in ALMOST every regard, but there's just a few things the US one does better. But for far less money---I'll live with the US version.
  21. The entire insides, I presume. Probably basically a really big Sparrow, inside. Unless you think they've got an advanced active-homing long-range missile inside that body, when even the US doesn't yet have anything equal to the Phoenix, power/range-wise. (still waiting on the always-proposed, never-worked-on AMRAAM-D)
  22. Diecast? Like MP-10, Starscream, Sideswipe, and Prowl? Diecast is basically gone from MP's. A single "core spine piece", if that. FT's Quakewave has more diecast than anything Takara's made in years. Better proportioned/cartoon accurate---well, I mean, do you really want your ultimate Devastator looking EXACTLY like this: I mean, look at his feet. Cartoon-accurate would look awful for the individual robot and vehicle modes. Plus he's "impossibly over-simplified". No wheels or anything. Just green blocks. Cartoon-accurate is flat-out impossible for some things---in combined mode, Long Haul's entire bed is purple---yet he's all-green in vehicle and robot mode. And good luck getting a cement mixer out of that left leg. Altering the basic look enough to make decent-looking bots and vehicles---you're going to end up with something pretty close to what MT and TFC already did. The combiners were grossly oversimplified for the animators----their figures are always going to be the least "cartoon-accurate" of all.
  23. Iran unveiled their latest aviation innovation----the Fakour-90 air-to-air missile. They say it's compatible with their F-14.
