  1. How far did you get? FFX is one of the few in the series that really gets good/pays off at the end.
  2. I'm guessing they moved to electric ones to save weight, like the 787 does. Hydraulic lines, pumps, and the gallons of fluid itself, all add up, weight-wise.
  3. They've been going with thin wings? That seems pointless, considering thicker supercritical profiles for trans-sonic supercruise and fuel capacity.
  4. Yeah, the moment the "sword" scene happened and what Fenice did, I knew what was coming----then was very disappointed it didn't happen. Anyways, as for "interfering with an ongoing match"-----key word being ongoing. The match was over, and officially decided at that point, they just hadn't "shut off the particle generator" etc.
  5. Honestly I really can't explain the large actuators----AFAIK the F-22 has a relatively thick wing, for fuel capacity. (and so many 1980+ designs are supercritical anyways) Deflection rate is rarely an issue----even airliners can move their massive ailerons in the blink of an eye when they want to, with totally internal actuators.
  6. Yeah, that info is very useful, as I'm running low on Tamiya Flat Base and it seems unavailable for the time being.
  7. Because Northrop was going for stealth above most all other considerations.
  8. You will need Bricklink.com, and/or Brickowl.com. Don't try to get what you need from Ebay. Rebrickable.com will also be very useful. (normally I'd say Peeron.com, but the site is effectively dead now--still superior to Rebrickable in several ways, but growing ever more outdated, since it has no set from 2012+) PS---I do plan to sell off all my "original grey" pieces, much of which is space-oriented. Let me know if you'd like a couple of pounds of grey...
  9. I feel the whole tournament (and behind-the-scenes PPSE scenes) are starting to "go on too long". I liked the pre-tournament stuff better I think. The 'race' episode seemed really pointless. Could have condensed the tournament a bit, and probably expanded more on "Reiji's new to the area/culture/planet".
  10. Nope. The gold fades away into nothingness, leaving the white background behind. That figure had the standard printing when new. Benny isn't really an accurate representation of how worn/old space guys usually look. The gold fades away, leaving a rather nice-looking solid white logo most of the time. They don't scratch off through all the layers of color like Benny's. (unless a cat or fork got to it)
  11. "First mold" meant exactly that. The 1/60 is far from the first VF-11 toy produced.
  12. Yup. I almost can build that set from spare parts---never quite got there. Do have two pilots though, one with a totally mint torso. (Had about half the Blacktron stuff back in the day)
  13. "Intermediate blue" if you want the exact color.
  14. It's surprising how rarely LEGO reissues sets. Hasn't been one in years AFAIK. I *really* hope for something that can be used for modifying Benny's ship---doesn't need to be a re-release, just another set of similar theme/color, incorporating some of the "space" parts that Benny's doesn't has. If we're really lucky---the next space theme will be classic blue and grey and clear-yellow.
  15. Good luck getting dry transfers into grooves or smoothly around curves though.
  16. With few exceptions, waterslide decals come on blue paper. (and every one I've ever found that didn't, sucked)
  17. I'm a huge B-wing fan (my fave SW fighter) but I thought the price was way out of line and passed. A big pile of grey, and no minifigs? Should have been relatively cheap for its parts count, but instead it was the opposite. (plus no landing gear, and would liked to have seen some sand-blue parts)
  18. The little mini-ships on Benny's are 4 studs wide, right? This may work then: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/30157 (as either one can go on either wing, there needs to be attachment points on both sides) Comes in bley, but not blue. I couldn't find a 1x2 or 2x2 with pins like that---though I swear a 2x2 version of this exists. There's also this, but it's an old piece: Was made in blue, but not bley.
  19. Yeah, EVERYBODY's first-mold VF-11 broke. Even sitting MISB it would. VF-0 shoulders have nothing on the early VF-11.
