  1. Some pics/news of the new stuff: http://www.figures.com/forums/news/48952-tf14-neca-pacific-rim.html http://www.figures.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=12011
  2. I've not seen a good pic of it anywhere else, so here's the box: I'm somewhat disappointed that Benny's two faces are "open smile" and "standard old-school minifigure". Really no need for the 'basic' one, when "screaming out 'SPACESHIP!'" could have been the other side. I would so have "screaming-face Benny" as the pilot... Thought: Possible un-announced feature. I'm starting to suspect the front cockpit can separate, or there's a vehicle hidden inside the center, or something. Why? I saw evidence in early pics, but this gives more credence: http://www.figures.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=334021&title=lego-movie&cat=12711 The "latch" tiles---LEGO never "jokes" about that or has them as "pretend" things---if it says latch, then that is the actual physical latch point of a moving assembly. Plus grab-handles right there. Also, the big hinge assembly (grey with black ends) to the rear of that section. Lastly---see the gap in the plates? Could just be poor assembly, but also is exactly how "barely held-down" plates look when covering an open section. I'm certain that part can be lifted up at least, the only question is what for.
  3. Hmmn, I thought the new ISD looked worse (as in, accuracy to the screen model). Just overall shape/proportions, mainly the bridge tower. As for bringing back old parts----Lego always seems reluctant to do so, but sometimes you'll see a part come back that was gone for nearly a decade. Never seen a 20- or 30-year-old part return though. They seem much more fond of "re-inventing" retired parts, but it's usually more complex/specialized than the previous one, and only really works well for the new set they made it for.
  4. I agree-----I don't spoil LOTR/Hobbit stuff for people, even though the books are generations old by now. Some people really just like the movies, and intentionally don't read the books (comics or otherwise) to avoid spoilers.
  5. Supreme Cheetor 2.0. But with a slightly more involved tranformation. (it still basically just stands up though, using the legs as legs and the belly as the belly)
  6. "Coolest LEGO plane I've ever seen" keeps changing: Working gear, flaps, elevons, canards, lights, ejection seat, thrust reverser, airbrakes, canopy... I did check the instructions he has---753 steps. No parts list that I could find though, and the instructions are just pictures, so it could be quite the challenge to actually acquire the parts and recreate it.::edit:: Ahh, parts list is up at Rebrickable. "You have 41.1% of the parts required". (probably mostly technic pins!) Hmmn, he's got a Sea Harrier, half the parts, half the steps, needs no expensive electronic bits...
  7. Bumping, to separate from Lego movie. Just in case anyone's interested, I have all the "rare/uncommon" parts (asides from the figures) needed to build the Galactic Mediator (bought loose/used, so most of the clear green bits have scratches): http://peeron.com/inv/sets/6984-1 I would love to trade them all off for something---namely some slightly earlier Classic Space stuff. Mainly just blue/trans-yellow "space" bits. Landing gear, rockets, cones, supports, wings, etc. Bley-colored space stuff also desired. Galactic Mediator parts are pretty much all the wrong color to upgrade/modify Benny's SPACESHIP! and I pretty much have no use for them now. Not trying to "get my money's worth" for these parts---would be happy to trade an entire bag-full for just a couple classic spacemen and parts etc. Basically, combine the parts I'm offering with just some basic bricks/plates/slopes, and you can have a large classic spaceship.
  8. Just mold things like wing/leg interaction, or things like colors/markings too?
  9. Like this? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/NWarty/F-14-024-A2.jpg
  10. Well, my ratio's pretty low compared to what it used to be: FFX played many times FFX-2 played once FF11 pass FF12 played once FF13 played once FF13-2 pass FF14 pass FF13-3 will play once FF1 through 9---played each several times. (never did beat 2 though---but sure tried on multiple systems---it's just tedious)
  11. See, FF13-2 gave me such a bad impression from the demo, I never bought it even when it got down to under 20. But FF13-3---yeah, I'll probably pick it up when it's a bit cheaper.
  12. Yup, I must have had at least one black one: http://peeron.com/inv/sets/6891-1 I know I owned that, because I remember the 10,000 times the red dish up front fell off. ::edit:: Had at least two, there's a black one in this one: http://peeron.com/inv/sets/6951-1 And I know for sure I had that one. (it's a really really unique set)
  13. Ironically, if there's any space man I don't recall owning, it's blue. Had many white/red/yellow, and maybe a black one or two. But blue? Doesn't ring a bell. (probably did though, based on how many space sets I had)
  14. I *know* I had the Galaxy Commander, almost certain I didn't have the Galaxy Explorer. Not sure about Cosmic Fleet Voyager. Any would be great re-releases, and have parts to help modify Benny's. I'd guess they'd do the Galaxy Commander if any---of the very few re-releases LEGO does, they tend to be big. Though the Galaxy Explorer IS the direct ancestor of Benny's and will likely become very famous/desirable because of that. I think I'm going to sell off most of my Star Wars sets to fund buying Classic Space stuff, so if anyone's interested in B/Y/X-wings etc, let me know.
  15. If they really loved us, they'd re-release these packs in SPACESHIP! colors: http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/5172-1 http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/5175-1 http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/5173-1
  16. It's molded to be off-set a bit, but not actually cracked. Also, looking through what I currently have, and what's needed to upgrade/retro-ify Benny's ship, I'm seriously lacking a few "essentials". Notably, these: That's the essential basic "ship landing gear" piece, and Benny's ship has no gear at all from what I can see. IMHO it's the biggest design oversight----every main spacship set I can think of had 1 of 2 pieces used in large numbers as landing gear, the other being this: Which I have tons of, but not what I want for Benny's I think. Lots of other little things I think of as "space" parts that aren't in his ship, but his ship seemingly being smooth-bottomed stuck out the most at me. (really, I wanted EVERY single "space" part to be found in Benny's ship---but there's really not that many---I was hoping it'd be like buying every single classic and Futuron set at once, parts-type-wise---but even the basic "hose" isn't there, they're new-style big hoses)
  17. Define "old VF-19". The VF-19 mold is pretty new, and this one is somewhat based on it. The old YF-19 mold is exactly that, and most of the issues (and later fixes) it had wouldn't really apply to this one as it shares no parts with it.
  18. Yup. I sure hope that's the actual name on the box. Though what I'm really waiting/hoping for are detailed analysis of the mass-market toys vs the "actual" models in the film. I'd totally be OK with a much larger more expensive direct-sales-only version of most of the main sets. And yes, surprised at how good the "not the actual famous actor" voice-cameo-imitation was. (won't spoil it, but it's the one where everyone else in his group reprised their role in that scene) PS---really, my only disappointment in the film "bricks-wise" was when they mentioned the monorail----and it was just a simple tile-based railway, not actual Lego monorail pieces. How cool would an elaborate monorail set have been?
  19. Topic title/tags edited now that we know for certain.
