  1. Re: stealth. Technically, it refers to ALL forms of detection. Infra-red being the big one after radar. No point in having a radar-proof plane if a heat-seeker can lock on from 10 miles away. AFAIK, infra-red was another place where the -23 was notably better than the -22. (no thrust-vectoring means it could have those ceramic(?) brick-lined exhaust troughs) Plus, just plain being sleeker means less heat/friction from skin-drag. Re: airshow. Sorry, I have almost nothing for "F-14 in flight"----just caps from an old digicam: That was the only time I saw a Tomcat fly, Grim Reapers F-14D.
  2. Went to the Quad City Airshow today:
  3. Wing Zero Custom, if the feathers would take the paint well.
  4. I'd still pick Grace. Customizable, version 4.0 when needed...
  5. I guess that's one way to interpret the Macross love triangle theme:
  6. Don't need to remove the big pin to remove the canopy, but the windscreen will require total disassembly of the forward half from what I could tell.
  7. Now I have no friggin' clue what this is about. That trailer could just as well have been from a total re-write/re-shoot. That is---not at all what I thought based on the first teaser.
  8. Yeah, but that's before being exposed to the elements and salt-water, that's exactly what color it would have originally been/Kawamori intended...
  9. Complete 180? I fail to see a massive change between the drawing and the latest renders----looks like normal "artistic idealism" vs "physical reality".
  10. I would imagine that nothing that has an actual VW hood badge will ever be allowed---but few people know/consider a Lambo as a VW...
  11. The new B-Wing seems inferior in every way to the old one. That is odd among SW LEGO sets. There may be some trade-offs, but usually new ones are better overall than the predecessor. (the new ISD is certainly a mixed bag, but there's definitely an apparent increase in stability/features etc)
  12. Yeah, elbow and bicep armor are the worst on PG WGZC. Legs hold together much better, though it can be finicky to get the spring-loaded back-of-knee gimmick working just right---but once you do, it should be "set for life" assuming you don't disassemble the armor there.
  13. That should actually be easily reproduceable with the standard metal masks used for painting etc. Wavy, feathered, or both. If little $20 model planes have it, I expect a far more expensive and larger valk to be able to do it.
  14. Nothing cooler than blue afterburners. Backfire has about the best.
  15. I haven't been able to get one--Wm Cheng could still use a "sponsor" from us MW members to get him an Ozma to go with the armor pack etc he already has waiting for it. Seriously, what other board member has been able to work in Macross visual elements into big-budget Hollywood movies to show support for the franchise?
  16. AmiAmi lasted like 2 secs if that, never even saw "add to cart". I at least got to the final checkout screen at HS but it sold out (somehow they didn't have my credit card info and I had to type it in manually--and that's fatal in a situation like this)
