  1. Now, Yamato had about the best "paint to plastic" color-matching I've ever seen in anything, so here's hoping that Arcadia can match the VF-0D's plastic equally well to that paint, if that's their intended color.
  2. Those pics, yes. But I've yet to see a production Yamato/Arcadia valk exactly match the sample pics. We never know exactly how it'll look until someone actually owns one.
  3. It's exactly as grey as the "real" thing. And was the primary issue with the previous tests----too saturated, not enough grey. More than any hue or brightness change, it needed to be greyer to match the show. It's like saying the YF-19 is an ugly shade of sandy-beige---yes, it may be----but that's what color it is!
  4. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Can it hold it with the gunpod attached?
  5. There is nothing to attach the adapter to. The v1 VF-27 needs something like the YF-19 fighter-mode adapter---a large clip to attach to/surround the fuselage itself. The v1 VF-27 has no parts included at all to attach to----but much like all the other Frontier valks, there are slots in the bottom of the forward fuselage where the diecast hip-bars clip into in fighter mode. But Bandai never made a bracket/clip to use them, and the VF-25's etc doesn't fit. The v1 VF-27's come with the valk and gunpod, but nothing else---no stand, no adapter, no bracket. But they've got mostly "similar" holes/slots as to the -25, so something could surely be done, much like the YF-19 clip, or a modified version of Bandai's own VF-25 fighter-mode adapter.
  6. Still could use a non-renewal VF-27 adapter. There is no way to put it on ANY stand, as-is.
  7. Just gonna close it for a little while, deal with the mess later, then open it back up.
  8. Surprised I hadn't heard of this site before: http://acewhips.net/ So hideous you have to keep scrolling down... (it's always worse when you see a car you did/do own---you wonder why someone would do that, as you know extra-well how it should look)
  9. Agreed---that's much more like Alto's -25. The only "-30" thing about it, is the "SMS030" modex. The head-on view alone should be enough to convince that it has -25 markings.
  10. I'm pretty sure they used a (tweaked) version of their "ice-fractal-generating" program for some of the microbot's formations.
  11. Same as I suspected/feared---they still don't understand SATURATION of a color, vs its value/brightness. Darker isn't the (main)answer, LESS SATURATED is what it needs to be. They'll end up at navy blue soon, and be no closer to what they should be, saturation-wise. I hate to say it, but I may agree with those who say it's worse now. They basically DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT NEEDED TO HAPPEN. Seriously, they need Koike himself to supervise, as a painter he certainly understands the concept exactly---but the guys actually mixing up the plastic dyes etc sure don't seem to. The revised/shopped pics/artwork do get pretty close, so they seem to know WHAT they want. They just seem to lack the knowledge on how to get it. (because making it lighter or darker isn't going to move it in the direction it needs---brightness vs saturation) (hue/chroma is rarely gotten wrong, that's 100x easier for people to understand)
  12. Just saw an image that reminded me that Elsa looks just like her mom, and her mom has brown hair. So Hiro's aunt is Elsa's mom...
  13. Can you give a non-spoilery answer to "is there a whole lot more to it, or does the trailer show pretty much everything". (of course, I intentionally never watched any of Frozen's trailers before I saw it so I wouldn't be spoiled at all...)
  14. 737 is my all-time least fave jetliner, so not TOO jealous. (and Boeing's "new" split-scimitar winglet is just a rip-off of the MD-11's---MDC figured that design out years ago)
  15. It's Eastern. That's akin to seeing a TWA or Pan Am plane flying around...
  16. If you have any appreciation for commercial aviation, you know how amazing and cool this is:
  17. Or it could just be the hinge for normal battroid mode wing-position.
  18. All Bandai needs to do to get a LOT of converts, is to LOCK the wings into fighter-mode position.
  19. The VF-171 is awful in many ways but it's the exception. All the others are good solid fun valks. Yamatos---look the best in fighter mode (which is my #1 priority) but often have many other issues which pretty much relegates them to "display models" and not "transforming toys".
  20. However---color isn't "faded/washed out" like Yamato's (probably TOO rich, but it at least actually looks tan, and not "bone") and knowing the Bandai DX line---it'll be 10x easier/more fun to transform. As in, you'll transform it because you enjoy it, and it'll be quick. Vs a Yammie, where you're like "yeah, I'll transform it NEXT month..." Those are 2 big factors for "mass appeal". Eye-catching+fun.
