I don't know what exactly you mean by "original", but you can still order the "New" ones. But only on a pre-order basis now. Still the "new" FlightPose stands may probably alter the painting on Bandai DX valks where the caoutchou touches it, but nothing a sealer/finish spray can't fix. And I haven't got any trouble with Yamato / Arcadia valk yet. I really like Yetistands poseability, I will probably order a few for my Bandai DX

The bandai paint was immune to turpentine solvent, so I had not that much hard time during painting. I got some trouble with the final matte finish, Tamyia spray did react a bit with the painting under the masking tape though, by chance I did spray only on the new gray bands. I did the canards but didn't know for the tail fins, That's easy fix if there is no sticker there!

Thanks, the grey was sanded enough to give a little weathering feel. I don't really want to add brand new "no step" decal... For the moment I really don't regret messing with it anyway

That black border really did bother me, so I decided to try to paint it with a traditional brush -even if numerous of you warned me not to use enamel paint!- Ok, you were damn right guys, it was almost impossible to do it because of the paint would cover the "No Step" marks, but I tried and made a few mistakes, I tried to lighten the paint with turpentine and so on. Finally I reached a result good enough to my taste. A few picks of it... Not the most beautiful painting job I admit

These hinges have a self-stop angle, you need push them all the way inside. Just the same system of the canopy fins but a little less obvious

The super-glue trick tidied up my hyper-floppy SV-51's wings, so I don't worry anymore for any floppy wing

1/48+fp's, 1/60+fp's, 1/72, 1/2k, 1/3k,1/100 and now 1/144

This one! It really tells how big SV-51 is... if you consider how big already is the VF-0S ! Amazing shots -
Now I got a question if I really want a 0B: can I hope for its release after all the 0S, 0A, reactive armor, ghost etc? Or do I need to buy 2 VF-0D and 2 VF-0A to combine them into a VF-0B ?
-
I don't have much info into the new TV serie, perhaps there are a bunch of repaints in it… Because I don't see Bandai investing in a whole new mold just for one shot (exception to the VF-27!) specially for a valk that appeared only in a game

Really amazing weathering/tampos. Did you matt finish it ? -
Thanks, I much prefer the complete kit if you can spare some of your time in this project!

That price tag made the decision difficult... Had to double check twice at different online shops before deciding.

The vf-0 are my favorite valks, engineering speaking. They also remind me so much of the original VF-1s but more massive, aggressive look! I am firmly waiting for this release (gloups about the price), but I am so in for the Over versions.

I used nail polish for that matter, but didn't move long enough before it dries up so now it's kind of stuck in the correct position lol! I could unlock it with a small cutter but I like it fixed in fact.

So true

What about a Minmay Guard version next !? Would love that

It is also always possible to tighten a loose valk.

Amazing picts MJ. The super parts on the YF-29 bring so much to the bare plane! I'm glad I have them, now I just wish to have your weathering skills -
Amazing shoots. Now I want a CF 171 for these warhead beauty's!
-
I have Tamyia-coated both my RVF and VF-25G super parts, and sure you don't want to over spray because the paint is slightly reacting to it (diluted by it). I have coated my Isamu's YF-29 also without any issue this time. I am kinda used to this Tamyia can and love it even if it can be dangerous if too much coat is applied in one stroke. Edit: I had so far near 0 issue with Yamato / Arcadia releases. Crossing fingers

Hum that seems more subtle than I thought I don't have these kind of skills with pray cans so I don't really know what I can do. What if I pre-coat the YF-30 with Tamyia matte TS80, and would that protect the original bandai's black paint job ?

Ha thank you for the advices Chaotic Yeti, Chyll2 and The Old Man. The quick answer is that I would like to turn lighter a portion of the wings (the outter black band) just like wm cheng did, but he did using airbrush technique. I would not test it directly on the YF-30. But as the test seems quiet simple (turning black into a lighter black), I will test different technique on a black surface to see whatever works. I want to try the drybrush as advertized by my reseller, but I will also try to test different levels of diluted paints. The Umbrol costs only 2,50 EUR, and I bet I can learn some useful techniques

Just to follow this up, I went to a modelism retailer nearby and he advised me to "drybrush" with an Humbrol emanel grey paint. I just bought it and I will give it a test.

Just pm'ed. I think I am one of these few having the supers in ordered, but missed this release during pre-order frame
