  1. Could you illustrate this with a photo or two? No matter what positions or contortions I try, those articulated hands just seem too large to fit in that tiny space within the arm.

Same result, I tried for about 30min to fold the hands into the slot, but it seems it is mission impossible !

Any tip would be welcome Duymon ?

  2. According to the tips, I would bet on a VF-0D. And I would love also the VF-0 variants as renewal.

Thing is that the VF-0 molds are extremly detailled and the models are very well proportionned, main issues are the very low plastic quality and the Fighter mode should be thightened.

We need the X9 with a Sharon Apple ridding it ;) !

I am in for the 21 and SV-51 renwals too!

  3. There is a huge diference

Considering the line art, certainly. But if you consider the Master file, Arcadia's design is accurate.

I prefer to refer to the Master File which is in general more mechanically correct, than the line art that always contains a little "magic" (I always ask myself how the heck did the wing fold into such small tabs in the battroid mode for exemple)

  4. Yeah I was jumping the gun (no pun intended :D). I have actually handled my pods enough to not fear them, I have never heard of this problem and others started coming out of the woods talking about it. Sometimes I miss reported known problems with toys or sometimes users don't talk about it, so there may have been a chance that this is a problem with the renewals.

I've never reported that my VF-25S gunpod has the exact same broken piece. This is bad manipulation, but this is due to the non-intuitive way that the gun opens and the crotch can easily break.

Since then, I never touched the other VF-25 gunpods.

It would be nice to have a shapeway of this piece !

  5. It would better not, for our's and Arcadia's sakes: the price tag of 250USD was pretty impressive for the DX VF-27, although it came together with the super parts. I can't imagine myself putting 400USD in a single valk + shippong costs, or at least not without a second thought!

  6. Both fighters are gorgeous, the SV51 is huge, and massive fully equipped and can feature a damn pretty nice and aggressive poses thanks to its articulated wings. I also love the YF-21 design: I would defenately go for the YF-21 instead of the Gamlin's 22 but this is personal choice.

Which one to grab first? I would say the best deal you can find but make sure to not miss one in your collection ;)

  7. The VF-1S ended to 13980 yen on pre-order, not so bad considering the packaging. The YF-19 v2 would be a must-buy item for any macross collector anyway. Should the price not be as high as the VF-4G, Arcadia would sell more 19s than VF-4 because it is more popular thanks to the great OAV, Plus movie and its apparition in Frontier movie.

  8. Looking at his twitter pics, is he building the Bandai kit?

Yes, but at what price? I am so used to the VF-1 being the inexpensive staple valk.

It's true that Arcadia prices are a step up more expensive than the Yamatos, but I guess this is the price we will have to pay to convince Arcadia to develop new molds on Macross lincense

  9. This is a good thing to keep the VF-1S Roy manufactured, and it would be a good idea to add the Ikaru version also because they are both the most popular and desired toys amongst the Macross series when you start the collection.

Concerning the release from Arcadia, it seems that it would also come with option parts (cover under arms as seen in the 1st picture).

  10. If you look at the Master file, the wing "High-Speed" position cannot be applied to Battroid mode without modification. It is too far from the Battroid proportions (the folded wings would be too long compared to the legs length).

I was looking on the Battroid mode and playing with the wing parts to position them in order to obtain the most accurate possible "folded wing" position for the Battroid. I ended up with this model:

Going further, I obtained a figure where I was able to keep the Master file proportions in both Fighter Normal-Speed and High-Speed, and also to obtain the Folded wing position that I judged the "mostly anime accurate".
There is certainly some way to make the model smoother and better looking in Battroid, and I certainly am impatient to see what Arcadia made already !

  11. When I looked at anime52k8 picture (the Master file one), I can clearly see how Arcadia can make the high speed mode without hassle:

Change the wing rotating pivot to the position described in the master file, instead of the corner of the wing as made for the YF-19-Version 1. Doing so, it makes possible to fold the wing when transforming and snap back the wing in the both positions (normal and high speed). In version 1, it was impossible because the wing was extruding.

    See picture attached.

In Version 1, the pivot was made so that the wings (once folded) in Battroid mode were mostly anime accurate. The major main issue that I can see, is that changing the wing pivot according to the master file, makes it more difficult to obtain an anime accurate Battroid mode. I am working on a picture that explains that, I would update asap
