I knew you helped them but didn’t know that you actually designed the plates. I was waiting for these too gonna order a few. Anyone knows if their compatible display arm will be available soon?
-
That’s looking really neat! I would love to know your masking technic if any
-
I haven’t thought of the monster yet but I will consider it too before deciding on the final dimensions.
-
Ho that’s an instant buy in the 30 colors!

That looks crazy to put everything up to the premium finish level! Perhaps you can try out one of these vinyl films, they look easy to apply. I am sure there are high quality ones that would do a great job for scale model. I have very basic and dark chamaleon (and gold) film at home, I really should give it a try too!

White landing gears... I am dreaming of doing this -
And that would explain why they reduced the island size, compared to the line art.
-
Looks like they made the model 515m long indeed. Thanks for the clear explanation!

I would never have thought picking such an alarming issue. But would love to read Seto sama thoughts on this

Hi guys, I have been tackling this model lately since I needed to make a pause from modelling the Ghost X-9. Based on pictures of the VF-0 Master File book and Macross Mecha Manual website. I like the modern look of this carrier, and to be honest I really don't know what to do with this draft. I was thinking of: 1) making a card board model of the Main Island Control Structure, as a 3D diorama base. 2) I could also make the Tube-like silos for the Cheyenne destroids so I can display my custom there vs the incoming SV-51 3) make custom 2D diorama base such as an accurate carrier deck and elevator diorama Base+Background by Coastalkits in the UK Shocking first impression: the Asuka II pictured in the Master File is wrong and too big! Even if I have taken the revised longer length of 276m instead of original 250m, you still can't put the 4 VF-0 on the elevators between the Island control Structure and the catapults.

@anubis20 This F-14 is a keeper! You will have to source another one I double checked and it just sit inside the detolf like that, I think this illusion comes from the fact that the inside glass is smaller than the total length. They should do it, considering how successful is the HMR line. I only know the official Hasegawa kit (1:72). My F-14 comes from a 1:64 Corgi, customized and painted by Ratatarse@France. I also added a few details such as printed landing gears and VF-0 pilots. I really love it, but I am still on the fence for a true 1:60 scale model, less metal (this Corgi is full metal and too heavy, really!) That's my loved custom made by @wmkjr, one of my favorite toy ever. Sorry for that, I didn't mean to ... But you won't regret it! -
The SV-51 was too big to produce, so they slightly changed the scale to 1:600!

I really love the fact that they connected the F-14 and the VF line in Macross Zero. My detolfs are so cramped, they almost look ugly... -
@Chronocidal I have never seen FDM prints as good as this one, I wish they were considering how cheap ABS material is. I was told that my HMM missiles were missing on my shop. I remembered not being happy with the model and removing them from the shop. But since I totally forgot to update them. Hopefully they haven't missed too long, they are now back in my shop in a smaller form with more surface details. The new HMM, 58mm long down from 66mm.

FDM will never be good for toy or anything besides prototyping. Even the temperature the classic material (PLA / ABS) can support is very low. I have once tried the hardest material PETG through FDM printers, and they had a hard time making my prints. Not even mentioning the nightmare and time I spent of removing these sprues myself! Resin printers may be hard to clean and kept clean, I don't really know well these because I usually order my High resolution prints from a professional print service. I know they use Formlab printers which use Resin in cartridges. I have heard of an esoteric printer from French Pollen.am, I need to visit them someday to check the quality of their products

What a nice idea
-
Together with @valhary , we want to sell high definition copies (resin) of these missiles. Shapeways price policy has gone insane this last year ...
-
Thanks! I like these when printed in high resolution. Btw if you can make the pylon in a semi-flex plastic, then you can insert fully the missiles into the tabs.
-
If you mean the female side of the hardpoint, I do have a working one that I used in my VF-9 wings. It works well with the DX YF-19 missiles set. I can share with you the model if you want but this is a fixed position (no rotation like the VF-1 HP) much like the VF-31
-
Ho, I have given up on the Bandai DX VF-1 line for the moment and haven’t ordered the missile set. I would be out of the game on this request sorry.

That’s great to see your progress. And I can’t wait the surprises that will be revealed by someone making a custom out of a custom print. -
