Since I'm not familiar with the whole of the 0 series, if it's following typical naming conventions the 0C would be a Single seat version of the 0D?

The 0C is the delta version of the 0A

On the old Yamato VF-1 the front cone of the nose is glued, so it can be hard to detached without damaging this cone, but if you got a replacement print or recast from the 1/60 assembly kits, it should be good.

Edit: also there is some sort of armor on the wing rotation area making them to fold like a VF-25 and the shield cover is different: it shows an angle much more like a VF-0

or perform a repaint! hehe! kidding! I wouldn't attempt that either..

If I could find someone who only wants a VF-0C and knows how to repaint, that would be perfect!

There's also another unknown valk shown in frontier movie 2, at the beginning of the movie, in the commercial mall there are 2 commercials running on the background TVs. In one of these a valk is shown with pink accents if I remember well. Don't know which one it is...

The VF-0D appears in the tv episodes, when Sheryl, Ranka and Alto are all hired to make a macross zero movie. The VF-0D is not physically present on stages, it was Alto's VF-25 that was CGI'ed so you can see the VF-0D on the projected screen during the movie preview.

You could always fit the nose/cockpit section from a 0D on to a 0A and boom! You now have a VF-0B! colors will be off but who cares!

The nose is different also, there is some sort of shield protector on top if it.

The casting "Masters" have been both printed and are currently in progress of cleaning and sanding.

In the meantime, I made a grey color scheme for my "low vis" drone.

This theme is inspired by a really talented japanese Macross fan who made this VF-11C, I really like this theme.

I have the original Yamato VF-0S and VF-0A with ghost booster combo gift sets too. I will most likely leave them in fighter mode with the Ghosts attached and call it good. I am still getting at least 2 of each new variant from Arcadia and 2x Armor sets minimum. I do also have an extra "A variant Ghost" that could look pretty good on the Shin VF-0A with the blue accents if they leave it blue.

Story or the Mechs?

At first for the Mechs and their realistic CGI and dog fights, I really like it in Blu-Ray version! But after that, I began to like it for its story because it was subtlety mixed in Frontier (in TV episodes mainly) and also it gives Macross 7 a better understanding.

Zero is just a must see if you want to enjoy the other series.

I took some picts of the painted bike, sorry for the pictures quality and unfortunatly the painting was made with a brush, I am not very used to painting yet.
