Thank you for the pic, this one is the illustration of the "movie" size of 30m height with beam canon. Don't worry, I also found a way to slightly increase the lobster height by making a bigger chest and still not increasing a lot the printing price, so it would be pretty impressive!

1) Small update: I have refined the Yamato stand adapter and it should be nice fit now. Available here 2) 10 Ghosts I prepared last week went to the painting this weekend. They will be back in 2 weeks or so. Those who have ordered painted version, please hold on a little more! 3) I am receiving the plastic parts from Shapeways very soon and I will be able to begin the shipments periodically as I will have to cut and sand the metalic parts. I want to prepare all the paid orders at the same time so technically that would happen next week or before 2 weeks from now.

Just updated my Shapeways with a new model hands for VF-4G. I printed it in Black Strong and Flexible. You will need some tools to insert the 2 rods per hand. I made these rods from 1mm diameter nails. I have been making hands for VF-4G for a long time, and this version is by far the sturdiest and firmest one.

29 cm high, 64 cm long with high beam canon, 48cm without. Sounds intimidating for a 26cm high VF-25 !

Great news Jeff! I would love more picts once weathered !

Thank you so much for the clarifications! Now I feel relieved if I choose the intermediate size! I think I prefer the intermediate size, but I will reduce the details size to match the TV, that means reduce the head size a bit for instance. BTW I will imagine the Vajra are like reallife lobsters: they can grow infinitly so all sizes are correct. Only the bigger ones can fight a VF-25 and the largest can destroy the convoy where Ranka was an infant (this one is like 100m high! and even pictured in the TV episodes)

I have pictured the VF-25S to be 14m53 high without the antennas Anyone who can speak Japanese ? According to this little guy, who generally is 1m80 tall, the lobster should be 12m80 high (without high beam canon). It is pictured on the side of the 25S. This is very small. The intermediate size, the guy would be 2m40 (quite big hein), the lobster is then 17m10: this is my preferred looking size. The larger size, the guy is 2m95 (a giant!). The lobster would match the 30m height given by Macross Mecha Manual, including the laser canon. The size is also believable for the lobster but not the guy.

Nice! How do you plan to make the glass? That's the most difficult point to me

Seems huge on top of that!

I can't wait to see that!

Small update about the magnetic attachment of the Supers Parts: I tested and placed the magnets in a place where the thickness is reduced down to 1mm. But the magnetic strength is too reduce because of this 1mm thickness. To perfectly work, the magnets would be placed on the surface, in a hole. That means that the current design need to be drilled and thickened with some putty to hold the magnets. That's a lot of work and trouble, even for my sample, I decided to keep the mechanical attachment.

It really depends, from the first scene of Ozma vs Lobster, they are about the same size. I need to find more shots. Because it really should be not that big for my wallet

Just received my stickers and they are gorgeous Takatoys! You deserve the praise. Thank you again

The stand adapter is not included. I have a version on shapeways, but I am not really happy because it is a little too tight so I am waiting for a new test sample. The current one is working great but I would recommend to sand it to reduce the friction or wait for the new one

I had a great time today cleaning 4 other sets. Additionally I am taking payments now for those who want to secure a kit. I have enough for everyone who asked in this thread so don't worry too much. But each kit needs a few plastic parts from shapeways that I have ordered in limited quantities, that means that in two weeks I will be able to ship the first paid kits and a few extra that I have plastic parts in stock. Then the next batch will take 3 weeks after payments. I will also send a PM to everyone interested in this thread, just to confirm and if you want to confirm and pay a kit

Almost there! Unboxing the production This one looks like a low vis edition already! And assembling the first unit. It took longer than expected, around 1h. Now I got to clean all the others and test fit them all before painting !

Thanks NZEOD, I did buy a few N35 in 3mmx1mm, and they are very impressive already. I plan to use 4 per super parts and if they are too weak, I also have 3mm x 2mm ones that would be over-strong for this anyway.

I know that would tickle a bit I would love myself to see Bandai editing the entire Vajra line in 1:60 scale. The Lobster one is very well documented and I got plenty of line arts to make it accurate. This is not the case of the 3rd Vajra that I really like, the "Heavy Mobile" Vajra that takes away Ranka in its chest. If I got the time to do so, I would open a new thread!

The landing gears would be perfectly retractable, and the rear fin will also be retractable to obtain perfect landing position for display. This is a perfectly understandable question since I partially changed a few features from the original feature list such as the "rotating" eye. Anyway, the 1st page post and features is up to date, I am receiving the resin part this weekend! Concerning the eye, due to high difficulties to recast the clear canopy, I have done a new canopy with a fixed eye as shown a few post earlier. But I still will be giving the original eye in case of someone wanting to make an acrylic canopy. I am also working on a possible upgrade right now that will concern the Super parts attachment. Right now, the Supers use a hooking system with a flexible plastic to maintain them in position, the tolerances are tight and the Supers are not so friendly to put on but still easy to remove though. So I want to improve that and add small magnets to maintain the Supers instead of the hook. I need the master to come back this weekend to test the strength of the magnetic solution.

After this Small one, I am likely to build the red Lobster now. I will be using the same metal wiring technic for articulations and other new mechanisms for the tail. I don't plan to make a kit out of this project because it is much easier to have an optimized model for 3D printing parts instead of "recastable" parts and enemy biomecha are less enviable. But eventually if it got enough interest, I still can change the plans and build the model as a kit mixing 3D printed parts and recast parts.

Ouch, these are scary stories and X Ray shots
