To me the 30 is better than 31! Until I got one in hand I presume Thank you again for the quality shoot Saburo -
Hayate is probably the character that could replace Alto in Frontier. Not the coolest char, nor the most skilled pilots, but the one that young dudes would likely identify themself to. There is probably the "Super strike addons" coming later because it was shown in an episode of the TV show. For all the other questions, you should watch and discover them by yourself. I will probably try to get this one because it is the first 31 and that I prefer to judge it myself, but if I cannot, due to the pre-order madness, I won't regret it too much because this is pretty sure they will re-edit it if it sells like frontier renewals...

Looks like a photoshop error for someone trying to make the nose shorter than it looks. I have mixed feelings about this release... The design would require a lot of improvements: would it have a renewal version and should I skip first revision ?

Yeah this was discussed when episode 02 showed that the rear gears were designed to open with the knee cap. Really it looks like an after-tougth! I saw this picture which looks like a fighter-only model. This gives me some hope that the design can look better than the gears in the 1/72 transforming model.

What about a Minmay Guard version? It should be a natural move just after the VF-1J Armored release ?! !

Making some tests with Tamyia TS 38 spray paint, this paint is very tricky... beautifully tricky with lots of reflections! I also made some test with the yellow paint... and now I understand why everyone says painting with light color is difficult. I gonna need several layers of yellow to completely cover the primer I guess...

Would love to see what your Mojo can do on the ghost!

Oups no3ljm... everyone should be carefull with flat head screws. Generally round-head screws are safer to tighten.

Yes it is listed here I listed it on my shop just to let know what is the average cost of such a large figure or you can rotate the models and have a closer look how the parts are made. There are 12 parts, only 11 for the Workroid, BUT you need to order 2x "05_feet". The "2 part container" is great if you can't make your own container with card board or laser cut polycarbonate sheets. I made both options, and I much prefer paying the extra for Shapeways solution!

When it's time to try to transform it that you realize that there was a lot of anime magic... Sometime 1:60 scale can be mean: 70cm long when on its 6 feet !

Here in town, we got like 10 or 15 warhammer shops, each of them sell figures, which are not painted. They almost all offer painting service and sometimes they also offer painting lessons with small groups of 4-6 attendees Well it is now available online, you can decide by yourself whenever if you want it later or not! Not what I would call cheap figure, but don't forget that shapeways also have a permanent discount of 15% with extending manufacturing time for WSF. And twice a year shapeways make its 20% discount on all orders. I don't push on selling these figures, they are very expensive for what you get.

I have some free time this weekend and thanks to the great weather and this morning sun I could make the first primer layer and sanding during the same day. This is the first time I have use a thicker floor finish layer prior of the primer and combined with the use of the newly implemented 3D printing orientation choice: you can obtain flat, near perfect surfaces right out of the 1st sanding. Pretty happy with the time saving and the result! I also attended a WH painting lesson with acrylics for beginners, and I will highly recommend it! They have such incredible paintis and techniques, in particular these metallic in acrylic that are so easy too handle with a brush! Quiet proud of my first figure hand painted. This one is about 4cm height

Thank you for the tutorial of the tinted canopy!

The model is not quiet finish! But I am sure Kelsain can finish it pretty fast or make a new one from the illustrations that are embedded into the model.

Kelsain, if you want you can have a look at the file. I just uploaded it to the warehouse https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/embed.html?mid=702d464e-c7fb-4f53-b193-8dcdb73676d1&width=580&height=326

Here is where I am at after a few hours. This is really an early sketch, it needs refinements and detailing but some lines are pretty, I will try to share it through Sketchup Warehouse later. This can be a resin kit once printed and refined. Who wants to take over?

Here is the 1/72 resize. I don't like the cockpit on the colored line, it's looks too big compared to the 1m80 men silhouette. I would better follow the shapes of this lineart. And I am really not a fan of Macross7 anime proportions!
-
I will have a look at the VF 17. If you have access to a 3D printer let me know which one. Preferably a resin one
-
Fighter only is very feasible, but I am with wmkjr on the VF-171: Bandai could even make the transforming 171 in 1/72 because of the named one.

I have used mostly screenshots from the TV show ep01 mixed with a bit of the Cheyenne II line art. Thankfully there are very few complicated curves and most surfaces were flat. Designing it was very funny, specially because I tried to make the articulations sturdier than standard ones found in toys. This is some sort of test shot for the coming larger Vajra.

It looks so easy ... amazing skills really!
