Macross Δ (Delta) - Mission 22 - READ 1st POST
Xigfrid replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
Thank you for the explanation RedWolf, I re-watch the whole episode to notice the first seconds, where the ep begins with Roid exiting the chamber and Xao discucssing with Theo about the chmaber being sealed. I don't know if you are right about Mikumo being the Star Singer, but that's probably how the scenario will lead us to. -
Macross Δ (Delta) - Mission 22 - READ 1st POST
Xigfrid replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
I haven't seen anyone mentioning the previous episode ending (mission 21) ? Have I missed something in ep 22 ? Keith was supposed to have a revelation in the singing chamber about a new technology breakthrough during ep22 ... -
Hi Tage! Concerning the pilot, I haven't found yet a good material to print small details and being solid (FUD from shapeways would be too fragile). You probably can print a 1:60 pilot using a Resin 3D printer (DLP or SLA) with a special resin for strong and mechanical parts, if you got one around! Otherwise, I would suggest that you source some 1:72 plastic pilots from model kits and custom shape the helmet with from green stuff or else. Bandai's pilots tends to be even smaller than 1:72 pilots!
-
Unfortunately for your increasing collection, this one is 1:60... Yep and at the same place as the others, or you can leave me a PM to discuss it!

I use SLS printers (through Shapeways) and from experience I got not more than 0.2mm errors which are easily rectified by a quick sanding or priming. For instance, I made pre-drilled holes of 1mm diameter for the screws on the model and all of them (30+) were perfectly printed. If I can get one... I didn't made it during the pre-orders.

Since I am still waiting for the yellow spray can I couldn't finish the legs and forearms... But I couldn't help assembling it together for a temporary display. There are detailling bits missing but I think it looks pretty cute already!

The part looks pretty simple to model: semi arc + a rectangle. Without a model in hand, it is difficult to model a perfect replacement part. The best a modeler can do is to something very similar but you would need some sanding to fit. Would you provide some info about the size of it (take measures of the other part as comparison would do the job) and about how it works: does the semi-arc acts like a clamp, does it attach to the gun or to the plane with the clamp or with the rectangle?

I will keep you updated whether it is easy or a dissassembly nightmare

at a completely lower level, I just ordered this in color White on Ebay for less than 3USD. It has a 2x CR2032 case + integrated button with 3 flashing modes. It looks small enough to be integrated and I hope it is easy enough to remove the cloth and use the LEDs inside my models

same here... at least I would be able to grab a 31 thanks to the low demand!

I had to make a pause with the yellow because the spray can emptied... Using the can instead of the airbrush uses 6-8x more paint... Well I will make some detailling until I receive the new can!

Haha yeah I understood perfectly that you were meaning this logo My point was that in Macross, they hate using occidental company logos as is, and they usually make a new one that is similar enough to be recognized ... Anyway I will give it a thought because even my pal said that the my workbench looked like a futuristic CAT, so it may deserve the logo. Edstuff, yeah Sketchup is a free program so you can experiment it to your heart's content. Thanks aaajin!

And I could swear that the logo on the shoulder area looks like a white cat. I need to see episode 1 in 1080p to make sure!

I don't know if Kurisama is still committed on the full upgrade parts of the VF-1X++ from Macross The Ride, but if he isn't that's something you should take over! Sticker side, I would love to see a custom sheet with a bunch of different size NUNS kite logos, No Step markings, yellow&white markings ala Gundam stickers.

I've used Sketchup for all my models. Not the best 3D modeling program around, but it was the easiest to learn and to make my first prints with IMO.

Same here, that 03 colors is just perfectly tuned. Considering that Hayate rides that 02 more and more, I can't imagine what kind of pre-order madness that would be: Instant 1sec window! In comparison the 262 would be nothing...

Making some of the lesser known vehicles from SDFM
Xigfrid replied to SpacePirateNeko's topic in Model kits
If you go with fud from shapeways, make sure to use strong/reinforced structures, because this material can easily snap. For instance, for the arm and the antenna, I would have used metallic bars: 0,6-0,8mm steel bars and brass/copper for larger ones. With detailing end bits 3D printed if necessary. -
There is one that still got this valk on pre-order but at an indecent price of 260$, before shipping...(http://www.hobbyshop2go.com/en/shop/products/dx-chogokin-vf-31j-siegried-hayate-immelmann-pilot---d10025bb9-1783-415a-a866-a65601673afd.html) Since they don't put an hard deadline, it is hard to know if they don't have enough orders or if they are not legetimate. At this price level, this is a form of stealing to me because this is from an online shop...
