I can't wait to see this one in DX form!
-
I don't know how realistic this can be made as a kit. I will think about it later !

So far, I used the exact same hardware as I used with the workroid: M1.7x6mm screws, 1mm diameter rods for smaller articulations and 1.8mm diameter rods for structure reinforcing and a couple articulations I had a good results with the Workroid, so I used that experience and tried to improve it a bit. At some point I gave up on using magnets. Everything has been sourced on eBay easily.

Just finished the front legs , this is what I call large hands. A great lot of articulations that I made as much sturdy as possible by using a tightening screw for each. The rear legs are more classic, still many articulations but not as many as the hands !

These 31As are nice! Are you planning to make different schemes on these or just the classical grey/white as seen in the TV show ?
-
Thank you Neko_fr. I just nabbed a 31J and when I will receive it I will make a new photo shoot session )))

Now we know how Experten's models ended with a bulbous canopy! Joking aside, I don't know if you are 100% happy with the nose. I am looking at it and I could feel something is off without being able to point out what exactly... The general profile looks 95% right but the remaining 5% is buzzing me. Something looks too angular at the junction of the top and the bottom parts. If I were you, to fix this later, I would cut this front portion of the nose and make a separate part so if I can fix it later, there would be only a small part to print and to replace.

Final touch arm canon and also to the head: Arm canon: -approx 12 parts -8 rotation axis -7 screws, only 2 visible! Head: -translucent eyes that will transmit light from a red LED -6x moving mandibules -2x moving antennas -total of 14 parts that are tightened with 2 screws. Only 1 will be visible I will work on a few more parts before ordering this lot.

Nice! But hum I would prefer it to be 1/12 or 1/20 for the same fraction of price...

This gun pod is great, I don't see the sliding mechanism but it looks very nice! Just a warning about 3D printers, going thinner than 1mm is generally not recommended if ever the printer alllows it

This plastic part is known to be firmly glued unfortunately.

Thanks! But this is only because the original design was so inspiring.

Thanks K, you know this is nice to got you back on the forum! Haha NZEOD, I am pretty sure now that you choose this color of your kitchen on purpose

Hey Kurisama, if you want to enhance details a bit up on the visor, you can engrave all the electronic shapes on the inside face of the visor. This is easy to print it in FUD and just clean the external face of the visor to obtain a transparent surface. I made that for the X9 and the result is really nice -and easy to paint-

Thank you all. Jasonc: i don't dislike this idea of using third party joints, I will just have a look and see if I can find some/design of these. Edstuff: you are welcome to continue our conversation if you need anything more specific to help you.

Just received the 1st parts and everything fits well into the Main laser canon. Including the LEDs etc. Pretty happy how it ended. This THING is HUGE, ok ?
