Checked the fit on the weapons pod, and altered the missile doors to where it ought to fit properly in fighter mode (both with and without super parts). If you want to deploy in battroid mode I'd suggest having it be fore-aft rather than left-right.
As to being stowable in battroid, going to say that one's flat out not possible without removing half the pod.
Hey Xigfrid, as someone with more experience in this, you have any suggestions on what wall thickness I ought to be using for the plastic? Right now I have it set at 2mm, but that's pretty beefy considering the size of the pod itself.
For a flat face, 2mm is the minimum thickness to obtain strength, under 2mm the plastic becomes flexible and at 1mm you have a high risk of breakage, I highly don't recommend to never ever use 0.7mm with WSF. But you can consider the global design for the thickness, for instance if you make a "tube" design, then you can make a 1mm wall and the part will be strong: because the total thickness is 2mm.
For the Pod, you can make 1.2 -1.4mm and you will be ok, or if you want to use 1mm thickness, you will need internal reinforcements at regular intervals to keep the part from warping.

Another couple of cases upgraded
Your cases are awesome, my favorite is the VF-0s though! Did you finish the Candy-paint Nora ?

I really need to make an invoice and see how cheaper is this service compared to shapeways.

When I was thinking of redoing the pods, there was one imperative condition that came to my mind: the new pods should stay retracted in battroid mod.
If you say that the pod can be shorter to match the line art, but there is a gap bugging you in fighter mod, the solution would be to add a latch that would fill the gap in fighter mode, but can be retracted so the pod stays under the shoulders in Battroid.
-
Amazing, I will be watching closely this project! And yeah, don't bother making individual opening/ removable missiles.
If you want display options, you can make it so the latchs open all together as one piece, but don't go with individual mechanisms.

Just rewatch the scene and the deck was clean

Unfortunately there is no room there for the pilot, the space is used for the shoulders that slide in/out. But since the workroid has the pilot in the center, we can assume it is the same for the Cheyenne.
I would love to see new line art for it

About the Pod, this pose just remind me that we clearly see a few times during the TV show that the VF-31 can stand with the pod retracted in its back. But the toy can't make this pose.
I declare that the classic pod need a version 2 and being at it Bandai should make more variants for the incoming 31A.

I had to have a break from the Okto modeling, so I decided that I could make some improvements to the Workroid ... then I spent more time to make a few variants of the destroid. And well, working on 4 variants now!
More detail soon !
PS: At this point, I can take any advice or details about how the pilot enters / exit the Cheyenne. I know there is a trap on the left side, but I would love the exit from the head as described below.

The one I circled is the VF-0B Space Proving Wing version I think, which is kind of "unofficial" or perhaps it appears in this mythic scene in Macross Zero Ep 05, I have to double check the movie!
I think this model is an homage to the climax of Macross Zero story, where Roy and Shin planes are fully equipped with booster. The mythic scene where Shin flights alone on par with Roy and that they forced their way despite being forbidden to take off.

Just discovered this custom on the macross.wikia.com and guess what can be found on the deck !
-
Haha! To grab this one, I only need it to be painted and retractable (but I could live with swap able) landing gears.

Yes. I'm going to try with a clear red. I think it'll add the warmth and hue that it needs. I remix today, among convention chores.
I hope it will work, I couldn't do that with my copy because it seemed that the white paint I used wasn't bright enough, so I had to darken then color-correct the white from the yamato plastic. I did by applying a light blue wash where needed.

I'm keeping it cheap, so I'm going to put a couple orange glow sticks in the lantern. Maybe a couple at the bottom too, to simulate lava.
Oups, I didn't meant that, the correct word is "commitment"

Thanks everyone! I really can't understand why this figure has never been released, no complex transformation mechanisms, a little big, a tad bigger than the Oversized Optimus Prime MPP10, so it shouldn't be too expensive to produce in small quantity such as 1-2 thousands.
Sometime I really think something is off /weird with me: I tend to prefer the "Bad guys" over the main characters, if they have an intelligent/kind background and that they are not just born mad. And if they turn good at the end, that's even better.
In Frontier for instance, I will prefer Brera and its enigmatic VF-27 anytime over Alto and its VF-25F, even I prefer the Vajras that save SDF-Frontier from the Galaxy gun blast over the VF-171.
Same for Delta where I prefer Rogue/Bogue complex character over Hayate (that just want to dance and protect his girl... really??), and recently after reading the Macross Delta manga spinoff, I like more Keith.

That's some great parent investment ! I can't wait my childs to be grown so I can do the same for Halloween
-
Looking so nice so far! I wouldn't believe that the markings could add a lot to the figure... Now I need to make mine the same
Do you plan to paint all the figure in white or only place that need to ?
-
I wish I could have all my 31s with these clear canopies
-
Just made better shots

@MechTech your work on the mill is on par with jewelers.
@NZEOD thank you for the purchases, I am looking forward for your display boxes.
@Nyankodevice that Sivil is a masterpiece, you catched the proportions really well. The hair are beautiful, wouldn't be a nightmare to spray?
For my part, I don't have much to share unfortunately, having not enough free time besides playing with toys and slowly progressing on the Okto and smaller designs

I don't know the YF-27-5 counts or not, but I love it too
-
Your 27 really has something more menacing, better posture than the 262. I like the 262 but one can clearly notice that the 27 is a more advanced valk and my favorite of the two.
Too bad the thigh ball joints got so loose on Frontier's toys.

Haha I was almost shocked
WIP: Alternate Weapons Pods for VF-31

1/64" diameter sounds a bit small even for steel. I mean it won't break but it will ploy. Anyway that rose my curiosity to see how it will be implemented!
