This came out great Xigfrid! Congrats! - MT

Hey thanks MechTech, but my customs can't be compared to yours.

Xigfrid! Done it again! Amazing work mate. So so amazing.

You know I am watching you and your VF-5000: go paint it already!

Bring it on !. I've always liked the idea of populating those empty wings with some interesting ordnance. Agree on the attractiveness of the -1D. Its capability to give a fighting chance to the older gen VFs against the latest and greatest is an interesting concept.

That tells me that I need to model an "Arcadia compatible" single pylon set for these ACSWS.

  3. ACSWS are too big to populate the 3 slots on triple pylons. You can still use a triple pylon if you cut the tabs on the left and right sides. The ACSWS-1A are easy to sand too :)

So far my favorite missiles are the TMM 201, they are square really easy to sand down!

I also like the PACSWS because this is very imposing, a bit tricky to sand because they are curved and I am a big fan of the glass for electronic.

  4. Probably the TV series, I just re-watched the movies and they are not in there. I will have a closer look to the TV ep, I think this is around the time when every VF-25 got armored to carry Reaction Missiles (attack of the Boldoza style vessel ?).

    There was an armored 25A?

Yeah, there is a scene where the SMS Quarter deck is full with armored Vf-25A, but the toy never made through.

  6. Nothing is really safe with Bandai ... Remember the VF-25A armored version that never showed up? But I think that the 31A already did sale better than the 25A, so if sales are good, we can bet that Bandai will milk us - and I will be milked happily too -

Great job! I'd make it dirtier since it's a ground pounder. I'm waiting for the next promo to order more stuff like the speaker pods and work destroid parts.

I believe Shapeways used to have a 20% promo in March, but you still can grab 15% discount any time with "Extended print delay" (the function is quiet buggy, leave my a PM if it doesn't work). I also will order a second speaker pod for Arad's 31. God Arad is going to be expensive: Arad with Supers+ speaker pod and a second with Armor packs!

I also found some nice rubber tires to replace the standard wheels, I much prefer the feel of rubber tires particularly to make great poses on the glass shelves like in the Detolf.

Awesome job, but -- this is not a jibe at your work -- I find the placement of the anti-personnel gatling gun absolutely hilarious.

That's why the Cheyenne is so manly! Joking of course, I believe this design would have never been approved with nowadays criteria.

  8. Almost done, painting is done at least. There are a few things missing:
-a little wash, not decided yet if it really needs a dirtier look
-print the new wheels and assemble the rubber tires permanantly
-deciding on which decals to put on it !

  9. Not a fan of Arad's so far because he is supposed to be a super Ace pilot but never act so in the TV Serie, even after Messer passed out.

I really love the Armor and its "Stamped look" though, so I need this one pre-ordered Now!

  10. Slowly updating this thread, the painting is progressing at a lower speed because of a very busy work and family schedules.

Still a lot to do, but it gots some presence already.

  11. I was looking for references on the ACSWS-1D type and found this picture related to the Wonderfest 2018. Apparently this is a printed resin kit that was sold during the Wonderfest show on "Excelsus" stand. 1/72 scale including Reaction Missiles, AMM-112SQ and two ACSWS-1A.

I think that on this version the mounting points are too much forward for both AMM-112SQ and ACSWS-1A pylons. I guess any designer would have its own interpretation of the missiles.

  12. I think also buying extra armor packs for the 31A in case that it never going to Ben released... as we see in the picture, the tips of the armor pack are light grey instead of red, that means that the dedicated 31A armor pack should be in the pipe but could never be released such as VF-25A and YF-29 Roid armor packs.

  13. Hi @Jaustin89, I was wondering if the model available on shapeways is good to order or if you want to make small changes before I place an order.

Concerning the Super pack, I am 99% that the VF-25G released it super pack together with the "new technology/enhanced" fold booster, and that they folded together in a losange shape and they stayed in orbit until the VF-25F took it to come back to Frontier, giving us the joice of having a red VF-25F equipped with the blue super packs.

I remember telling me that it would be nice to have an adapter to hold the fold booster together with Michael Super pack just like it was shown in the episode.

  14. That’s a super pack for once! Too bad that the pod doesn’t fold back but that won’t worry me that much. I just hope that this armored Pack is as light as feather and that it can be displayed easily without the need of plastic reinforcements and display stand for battroid
