I think Zx31 is correct, it looks like tabs 1 and 3 serve the same purpose of preventing the wings to fold under the drake a weights.

If that’s true, shapeways would always get a solution for less than a complete movie version VF-31F

I still don’t know if I will try a low viz paint or a bright schem as seen in the serie, but I already choose who would pilot it.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately this 3502XT bottle was more than 30 EUR, so I went with the 3507 to test

@Mechamaniac would you recommend the Testor cement 3507AT? I am also looking for a good one and this one is available locally.

Hey @Grayson72, I know you will hate me for this answer ... The honest answer is that it is rather easy, but it takes a lot of time and requires manual corrections on Sketchup. If I knew another software that would do it automatically for me I would try it. ( @Sanity is Optional any recommendations ?) I know a few other models were asked in 1:72 scale, but I just couldn't get me in this scale yet.

Thanks Arbit for the advice, I think magnets can be used well in articulation when it should swivel freely. But in the case of my VF-9, I will use 3 rectangular magnets on each wing and they will be aligned so that the left and right wing tips connect and keep their "closed" angle firmly. The magnets are modeled in "Gold yellow" in my 3D files. BTW, I came to a satisfactory point with this model and ordered all the parts from Shapeways, including the canopy in "high detail plastic" to confirm if it can be used or not. I have put them on my shop to let anyone know the current price of the complete VF-9 BUT please hold on until I got my parts and confirm that everything is working well before ordering it. Total price is 205 USD with the canopy or 196 USD without. I am sorry it is 50ish more than I expected, this is because of the numerous intricate parts, that rise the price by a fair amount because the VF-9 is "dense", without much inside free space. I need to confirm this but from memory, you will need steel M1.7 screws (6mm round head mainly, a few 6mm flat head, a few 8mm flat head, and one 10mm round head) and 1mm diameter pins (various length mainly less than 20mm and a few up to 30mm) As the assembly manual, I will take pictures during the assembly process and put them into a pdf file later. Sorry I won't make a pdf from 3D views because it takes a lot more times.

Making correction to the file is fast, but you know it takes time, and cumulatively, it takes a lot of time. Hey Tage, I am glad you like the design too Now that I have received the N52 magnets, I need to confess that I am completely blasted by their strength. I previously used small N44 magnets but you can really feel the difference. I am planning now to use 6 magnets to keep the small flaps closed, for a total of 3 Kg, 3 kg I could hang any entire macross with these 6 magnets. More details and panel lining also

Haha sometime I really wish I could afford someone who would correct and gap fill my 3D sketches, I would save a lot of time
-
Not that bad, but I can’t really see how shapeways would accept the files as one single part to print.
-
Small updates and even more smaller details. I added 2 wing tabs, but they look meh, technically I will be using 4 magnets for a total of 2 kg (20N) strength, they should be largely enough to hold the wings closed. That's something only the prototype will be able to tell.

Amazing collection @Kicker773, I can’t even imagine how Difficult it should have been to reunite as many impressive items as you did. That inspired me and I went to the detolf to make a scorpion pose to the Vajras chasing Ozma and Brera passive observing as usual...

Hey arbit thanks I too hope it would be under the 150$ mark. The transformation is based on the line art, I had almost everything working as intended except for the bottom stabilizer fins that would be fixed, the hands will rotate instead of sliding out and the landing gears. I am not finished yet so I am working on small details and final design at the same time. I didn’t know there was a new “create shell tool”. Last time I tried it, it was 2 years ago and the shell would have large holes (10mm large) that couldn’t hold small parts such as fingers or landing gears parts. I need to check that

Papercraft SV 262Hs Draken III Roid Brehm Custom Deculture Ver.
Xigfrid replied to tankball's topic in The Workshop!
The more I see from this Elvis valk, te more I want a DX version of it really nice assembly! -
I have ordered a few custom bases from Costal kits I did ask a special 1:60 scale and custom cut to fit in a detolf. I am very happy with. The guys were very helpful when you contact them by email. I know they have a set of 4 tiles that makes a complete carrier launch deck and if you have your own high definition deck image they even can print them.

@Urashiman I am glad to meet you because I have been using your paper model a lot for the panel lines. I have also tried to use your model (orthogonal projections) as reference because it was almost identical to the latest line art but it didn’t really took into consideration that the VF-9 is a very small plane so even if the true line art is very streamlined, I couldn’t use it to scale well with an Arcadia VF-1. And from there I had to trick the dimensions even further to obtain a good looking battroid you HD model looks really good! I am sure if you finish it and print it in FUD (High détail plastic) it will look incredible together with an Hasegawa VF-1, keep the hard work if you can afford it.
