Just found another 3D designer named Chris who sold his VGF-14 design for the Macross the First manga, perhaps the guy is the same guy and that this very design has been sold too?! I don’t know but at least we can continue to dream https://www.deviantart.com/theschell

Doh and let’s be sad :/
  3. DX Bandai YF-19 ordnance on the VF-9
  4. Err, I think there was an exclusive/limited/early online pre-order from Yamato website that would have a gunpod included as a bonus.
  5. Haha you are probably right @chyll2, there are a lot of sliding mechanisms but yet simple enough to keep the whole pod easy to assemble and tight. I will probably have 10 separate parts with 5 screws. How it folds? Well I think it is much less complicated than the actual boomerang charger pod. How it works? It looks like these plasma canons have capacitors that are continuously charged during flight to allow the cannon to blast limited but powerful blasts. Here is the google translate: ”Continuous Beam Cannon Unit A charged particle beam cannon unit of dual specification that can be used as a turning turret. With a combination of turret and energy capacitor, with constant energy charge! Approximately 5 shots can be launched per gun barrel. Once equipped with a chemical laser cannon as an option of Superpack (Strike Pack), there was limitation of the gas capacity that could not be precision fire and electric power supply source, it was never easy to use equipment. This equipment for VF-31 /.0 has no high anti-ship capability like the old strike pack, but because it supplies energy from the body of the energy conversion armor which is not used, it can constantly charge it, There is sufficient effect for versus VF etc. The aim is arbitrary or ARIEL-111 automatic control of the pilot, but the rear seat personnel may operate”
  6. I took the most inspiring to me and that was the last on @Sanity is Optional pile ! So far so good, I got a last challenging articulation to go through before the model is good to print, hopefully I would be able to catch on Shapeways promo
  7. If you know him, you can ask "Ratatarse" who made this custom for me. I believe that he made all the ordinance from 1:72 left overs. The decals were bought from Ebay (Chinese copy of the Hasegawa kit's). About the pilots, I believe too that the Arcadia pilots scale is great compared to the DX ones. I think the Arcadia VF-0 are greatly scaled even the cockpit, you will compare it with the Corgi F-14's cockpit, and they look in scale together. I have designed the F-14 pilots and 3D printed them in resin so they come with Macross Zero helmets and jackets. But you can use Arcadia VF-0 pilots to fit into the Corgi F-14 too. The carrier deck base is a 1:72 one from TSM / herpa, looks like a challenge to find one nowadays.
  8. Yep, concerning WSF plastic prices, the new prices chart wants to prevent putting single/small objects. Everything under 10 USD is almost doubled in price. I have designing models with sprues to reach approx 20 USD per pack so these models will be raised by approx 1-2 USD when January 2019 hits
  9. @Chronocidal Just to let you know that I have made the VF-9 Nose and Head model to come with the version 4 Fin design now: Another note, according to a recent post on Shapeways forum, there may be a 15% sale around 15th November for general customers. "Hello Shapeways Account, Happy Holidays from Shapeways! We would like to thank you for being a loyal customer by giving you exclusive early access to our holiday sale. This includes 15% off all your models in all materials from Nov 7th, 2018 to Nov 14th, 2018.[...]"

We can’t let this thread die! @IamChris are you still on this project or can you make more 3D renders? I mean that the official release have nothing exiting to me, Arcadia takes their sweet time (3 years now?) to get a V2 mold out, Bandai is releasing the same thing again and again in different paint since 2-3 years. Third parties makes 1:72 diecast VF-1S, or Yamato copies... At least this project is something freshening for Macross fans
  11. I wasn’t happy with the fins design version 3 so I made another modifications and the latest version 4 is my new favorite.
  12. Hi Jasonc, you probably missed the discussion about the magnets so I will quote myself how to find these 5mm x 2.5mm x 2mm magnets. "I remember trying to find these magnets on Ebay but couldn't find one. At the end I had better luck sourcing them locally. Here is the website where I did order mine. https://superaimants.fr/blocs-neodyme-fr/5-x-2-5-x-2-mm-ni-cu-go-fr/ I don't know if they would want to ship to USA, but you can try. I think you can have a better luck trying to find these magnets with magnets specialists directly. Or you can glue 2x cubes of 2mmx2mmx2mm and use it as one block. 2mm magnet cubes are really easy to find on Ebay. You can also try to find 4x2x2 mm rectangular magnets, that would be easier than the weird 2.5mm width." Also if superraimants.fr don't want to ship to USA directly, you can ship them to me and I will mail them to you.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

That’s weird because NY told me they couldn’t send the YF-19 by SAL and they asked an additional payment to upgrade to EMS
  14. I recently asked for the Regult, and they said it was post-poned to 1st quarter 2019, I am skeptical that M&M VF-1Js would go through. The YF-19 fold booster has already been produced to my knowledge but who knows what can be produced next

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

    amazing poses @Saburo

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

I love your pictures @Saburo, you know that but I hate you post because each time, I am having a very hard time deciding which mode is best for my lock screen When yesterday I thought I was set with the fighter mode until... at least the next VF-1J release... here come the gerwalk Picts!
  17. I only applied the skull stickers made by @takatoys some time ago and a light panel lining.

    Hi-Metal R

I think the hands will be swapable too
  19. Looking better once primed in black
  20. I was thinking that too, probably a new display concept;)
  21. The original range of movement is like +/- 10 degrees, by grinding on one side the flexing range is improved up to 45 degrees (photo 2 vs photo 3 of my previous post) I am not really good at showing it with pictures though
  22. Ok! So the HMR VF-4 release got my Yamato all fired up for an elbow upgrade so he can also flex them and make some press-ups just like his incoming little brother. When I dismantled the elbow, I discovered that there was already a rotation axis but with very tight amplitude of movement. So I sanded the diecast part to allow a much larger movement of the elbow in this rotation axis. I could gain 30’ degrees of movement doing that and now my Yamato can flex pretty well, compared to what he could do initially.
  23. The tolerances on my copy were very tight, so I made a V2 with tolerances a bit more relaxed. I have uploaded the V2 at Shapeways, so you can buy it, and it would be easier to assemble. Not 100% sure it would snap fit easily.
