  1. Product field testing happens all the time, anybody remember when this person worked for the Chinese manufacturer lost his prototype iphone 3gs, he hung himself... that was sad. Anyway, from what I understand, the whole video was based on the believe that it was a real iphone prototype that belongs to Apple. At the very least, I can see receiving stolen property charges against Gizmodo, since there is actually no way to tell if the phone was left in the bar, or taken when nobody was watching. And then who goes take apart someone else's stuff rather than returning them to the owners? To make it worse, they make sure the whole world knows. common sense?
  2. in this country, ganking apparently is PvP.
  3. either way, it will probably be the fastest computer in miles for a long time.
  4. good stuffs, i say up the spec a bit to a 980 and the new ASUS mb (you know, the one support 6 cores), 600 gb velociraptor could be even better.
  5. on sales already PG OO
  6. I have never try a super-g before, but my old range max was doing the same thing, and I had to reset the router about three times a week. It got better after a firmware update, but I was still having to reset it every week. now i use a linksys n router, it used to have similar problem but the firmware update fixed it. I figured out my problem by googling it. sometimes line noise could cause problems too.
  7. built a i7 (the cpu that was the same price as 9550 at the same), 6g of ram, budget everything at around 800 last xmas from newegg, and they are not even the cheapest. 600 cpu/mb/ram is doable.
  8. I use razer lycosa and microsoft x8.
  9. i paid about 60 for mine ... a while back
  10. that why I said spend money on good mb, it would allow you to keep upgrading longer. but with what you got, adding ram would probably have the most benefit. add one thing at a time. you already got a decent system.
  11. I thought you're all set? I haven't been following all the posts so pls correct me if I missed anything. if you have 4G of system RAM with a 32 bit Windows OS, you're good. Get them if you find the right price. One of my xp32 laptop has 3G of RAM and I have no idea how they did that. you're doing dual channel so odd number doesn't sound right does it? your gts250 got 1G of video RAM and it is not accessible for the system to use, and it is pretty much the high end for this class of video card. if you screen is no bigger than 23 inches, then you can pretty much max out on all game available now except Crysis, you will need to scale back the AA. I think GTS 260 and up comes with 800ish G or ram or 1700ish version, but you can always SLI a 8800 or 9800 to your 250, with nvidia you can split out the physx stuff to the smaller card. unlike ati which use the specs of the smaller card. my opinion is to add system ram to 4 G, and you will likely see a nice improvement on the overall performance.
  12. static ip for the Toshiba? what happens if you turn on the Toshiba first?
  13. now that depends on which set you got and how much input power. Given it sucks that you need to buy all their stuffs to get their best performance.
  14. i say i7 975, 12Gb+ ddr3, 160GB solid state HD as boot drive, a couple of SATA as data drive, antec 1200 case, antec or corsair 950w+ psu, ZALMAN CNPS10X cooler, I like all EVGA stuffs but they don't make Radeon video cards, so mb would be EVGA or ASUS just pick the most expensive one. the high end mb's support more then two video cards, but I think some of them only support up to 4 gpu's, if you want directx 11 (which there are only a few games currently available) and Eyefinity - get a pair of Radeon 5970, otherwise a pair of GTS295 (are they coming of newer ones?). I have never seen two 295 in action before, but a single card were doing Crysis on ultra high everything 16x AA @ the highest selectable res for the game without any problem. I wouldn't worry about the sound card too much, most good mb's have digital 7.1 output anyway, but if you want get the most expensive one Creative Lab make. You must however save a few hundreds for the BOSE pc speakers, can't beat them. that's what I would do if I was going the spend 3k on my computer.
  15. tried an antec tp 750 with 2 4850 and work with two hd, and the oem stuff pretty much won't hold up against the antec. 5800 take 2 set of power connectors each, so does GTS series. not saying the 750w wouldn't work, it has been tested with the pre-built system, but with two 5800 crossfire it is not going to have too much left for add on stuff. at worst it would kill off some of the components with under powered psu, done that too.. that why I have 2 brand new 4850 sitting around, lucky that didn't kill my mb.
  16. like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleD...st=Combo.326245 too bad it out of stock, but you got the picture. p.s. that 750w psu won't push 2 ati 5000 nor 2 gts anything.
  17. did anybody else got mg gn-x? i like it better than the exia.
  18. you're right on!! extreme performance pre-built system, can't beat alienware, they only starts around 4k... my buddy built a 975 base with 16Gb of DDR3, a GT2 295 + a 9800, the day 975 came out. All he did was pick the most expensive parts on newegg at the time, and it was just a bit over 2k. plus buy a copy of window 7 utimate 64. it was able to boot into windows in less than 5 seconds. it was his first build. my point is, go diy and you will likely come out with more.
  19. sudo allow you at act as another user on unix and linux, but you need to tell it who to sudo to unless it is set in the profile.
