  1. Just wondering, how many of us have a computer set up right by their work bench/area? what primary use is that computer? I did it because I've a extra lcd and cpu lying around, it took up a lot less space than a tv set would otherwise.
  2. I am positive I read somewhere that one of the reasons battle 7 and such ships transform and hand held the main cannon was to allow the ships to be more flexible in better aimming their main guns -- without completely alter the ships' flight path, ??
  3. But the pictures are really pretty. I like to play multi players games with friends, not with people that play all day long.
  4. so you can't play single player?
  5. it's likely some of the dll's use by explorer are corrupted, if reinstalling IE does not help, look into processes tab in task manager to find the processes that are holding up resources and try disabling them and see if it help. you can also check component services to make sure only the services you want are loaded. another possibility is your .net framework is corrupted or mismatched, if you have version 3, try doing a roll back to earlier version. windows auto update and most anti virus, anti spyware software check for update at load time, run registry cleaner will probably help also.
  6. some hd cable boxes still output using component cable, check the back of your tv there should be 1 set of 480i/p rgb jacks - the one ps2 and normal dvd player hook up to, and may have more than 1 set of component rgb jacks mark as 720i/p and up, the ps3 and hd signal should use those. but using dvi actually produce somewhat sharper images with hd tv boardcast, at least with my setup anyway. I say use the optical audio output if you can, it sound way better than the regulate red and white connectors. trust me, i'm doing 5.1 with my system, with a set of bose, it's a lot of fun.
  7. Hay you're all set, I used to have hd cable with component cable and it was 1080i. if dvi port is what you got, just use a dvi-hdmi cable, but you have to have another cable for audio signal. I have a 3 years old 1080i dlp, dvi input is as good as it gets. so I settle with it until I'm willing to pay for a 1080p model. if you use hdmi output of the ps3, you can select to use the optical audio instead. since my tv only has dvi input and no optical audio input, I get me a reciever with hdmi pass thought and optical audio input. someboby correct me if I'm wrong, since the tv is 32", I might be 720p - just like the ones use in store displays. then your bd and games will look really good. hook your ps3 to it.
  8. I heard the next one will be on ps3 also.
  9. I suppose there is going to be dvd sets releases to go with the Turn A? I wonder when will they have Turn X..
  10. thanks, I'll check them out. I just like to see it myself.
  11. I'm not very good on Mandarin anyway. byw, didn't the Mandarin version came years after the Cantonese version? for Mainland market?
  12. It was cheap A** network executives prefer to sell more comerical time than the quality of their programs.. or just because they can.
  13. the song is almost 20 years old, and the singer was pretty main stream in the 80's. her populority dropped because she decided to go to college in the States, and away from the business.. but that just what I think, she still sound like 20 years ago, which is not a good thing. back then in HK, they redid almost all popular Japanese song in Cantonese. for some it might not sounded like a good idea, but it did open new market for Japanese pop culture and attracted a lot of people that wouldn't otherwise be interested in Japanese culture. Cantonese is not something you can take classes to learn, one need to live in the env and grow into it, unlike Mandarin. Dangard Ace - do you mind telling me if there is still possible to get a VCD copy of DYRL somewhere?
  14. It was not include in any Macross CD, it was the title theme song when DYRL opened in Hong Kong. I think it was 88', but I'm most likely wrong (I remember I was already out of HK at the time)... from Wikipedia: It was on one of the singer's CD out on July 1989, track #9. 陳慧嫻- Wikipedia, this link is in Chinese, this is translated by google. It is a pretty good song, I think I heard it last on late night radio a while back. The HK version of DYRL, however, is hard to come by -- if its still in the market. I think there was vhs a number of years ago, or might be even vcd, but I'm pretty sure there was no dvd form it. I'd like to get my hands on a copy if anyone has anyone know how to get one, it is supposed to be dubbed by the original folks that did the HK version TV series, and back then, things were translated very close to the Japanese version.
  15. G Saviour itself wasn't that bad, the movie was..
  16. the new Zakus should be enough prove already that Bandai plan on coming around full cricle as the 100 mg being and improved version of the first. What was #2? Was that the mg Zaku? Now that the generation of the first mg has grown and hopefully can appreicate the improvement/evolution that has taken place. I honestly have no idea what the heck I'm talking about, just hope that #100 is anything but a reversion RX78-#.
  17. totally agree, the oyw version is really good, it wouldn't be bad if they can improve on it. However, it could be just a re-issue of mg #1.. retro style ..
  18. remember when ps2 price dropped from 299 to 149? Sony and Microsoft didn't start that if I remember right. I think they were reacting to the GameCube's price drop. Price drop is not a given, usually it would be use to gain market share, or prepare for the next generation of the product. No business will be willingly take a dive on the profit margin. One thing I heard about slow deployment of ps3 games is due to the complexity of multi processor programming. Don't know much about that, since I haven't written multi processor code, but I'm sure it is a lot more complex than multi thread code.
  19. my guess for price drop would happen at mid life of the system, likely be two to three years. keep in mind they are not making much on the hardware, price drop will be unlikely until new tech come online and lower the cost. or maybe they would do the same thing they did on hdtv sets, adding more features to keep the price high, and work on lower production cost at the same time. don't hold your breath.
  20. I meant for Bandai to get a piece of the pie like you mentioned here and not be the executive producer of toys and model kits for the series, creating different product lines for different market segment, age group, price range and such. Lower price products are needed at the initial stage for the series launch to achieve market penetration. The higher price and quality can come when the series has been accepted by fans (with money). But then I've been wrong. Either way given the size of Bandai's and their distribution network, it will only be beneficial having them onboard. On another note, didn't some anime in the recent year targeted the whole Asia market instead of domestic market alone?
  21. Hey, I got one of those Asia version Gundam Musou for ps3. Why didn't anyone mention it comes with a clear rx-78 kit? and I thought I have been a bigger sucker. BTW the game follow the previous Gundam games' footsteps -- it still suck, but less suck compare to most of the previous ones just because it is prettier.
  22. Bandai being the largest toy maker in Asia, I'm willing to bet they will be very interested in the new Macross series. My concern is how this will play out for Hasagawa, it will surely be ashamed if Hasagawa stop making Macross kits.
