Every single one of these schemes is infinitely better than what Yamato has come up with thus far for the YF-19. I don't see why it's so hard for Yamato to apply real world marking principles to their jets and come up with some slick designs. If they released a 1D or a -19 in anything close to as cool as the examples you provided, they would be a must buy.

I was holding off on the -19 until I saw some repaints. In light of the recent uninspired color schemes I have decided to get an original one after all, but obviously I don't want breakage or crooked gun pods. Is this stand alone -19 here http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00053 free of the original design flaws?

These paint schemes are dissapointing to say the least. How much imagination does it take to use the same pattern and just change the colors? Don't even get me started on Yamato's color choices; blue and red? Orange and black? Yamato either needs to hire a good graphic designer or stop with these sad attempts to come up with their own color schemes. Is the currently released stand alone -19 free of bugs? If yes, I'll just buy that.

Close. "Double nuts" is redundant. Two zeros is just nuts, it's implied by pluralizing the word nut. We only ever added "triple" or more when there were more than two zero's. We never really referred to nuts or "One" (aircraft 101) as "high viz" either, they were simply our "show birds."

Wait. What? Are they out?

The whole thing can easily be explained away with the necessities of war. Here is a population that is stranded on a ship in the outer rim of the Solar system, surrounded by an enemy with a largely unknown technology that is obviously vastly superior. The real question is, why was the large majority of the population NOT drafted or at least used heavily in a civil defense capacity? As for Hikaru's quick rise: accelerated advancement and lax regulations for comissioning officers. If this sounds far fetched, consider Viet Nam. My dad joined the Marines in late '67 and by the end of bootcamp, although earning an advancement to E-2, he was offered commissioning through OCS by simply taking a college equivalency exam. Why, because infantry platoon commanders were dying at an alarming rate at the time. Do the Marines, (or any branch of the service for that matter,) who are comprised of a %100 volunteer force, do that now? Hell no.

I understand that you said it in the text I quoted, that's why I quoted that text, thanks though A picture from the actual show was provided to reinforce your claim. A picture is a little more concrete than "'cause some guy named Vostok 7 says so" know what I mean? Anyway, my question hasn't been answered, will the Yammie D be packed with a GBU-11? I ask because I can't recall whether or not I've seen it pictured with the toy is all. Thanks for the scoop from Overdrive! Glad I preordered with them!

Wasn't Hikaru's D actually uploaded with a gunpod during his nap in the cockpit, and present during his first encounter piloting the D? Should the D come with a GBU-11? EDIT: Google search answered my own question.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.2
warrhead replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Off topic but, file 49 shows a VF-0C model in the lower right hand corner... is this new? Is it a single seat delta wing? -
It's also not new or on topic.

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
warrhead replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Wasn't the whole point of starting this new thread, other than keeping it separate from the model, and 1/100 to keep all new pics in the first post? Not to nitpick but I really was liking being able to go to the first page and see the updates without having to go through page after page and read all of the nitpicks about big crotches and what-not. Can we please get an update for the first page? I think these are looking awesome though... particularly this one -edited to add some admiration- -
Could a brutha' get a link please?

Anybody else here order from Angolz? I haven't gotten a shipping notice or any indication that they are in stock, I really want this thing already...

Super Dimension Century Orguss
warrhead replied to Kronnang Dunn's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nah, I'd like to see CM's do all of the mecha in a common scale (1/48?) with a quality level on a par with the brave Gokin Patlabor stuff. I'm pretty excited how their Dorvack release turns out. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
warrhead replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Slightly OT, but what are the actual new dimensions for the the -11? The original "1/72" was determined to be closer to 1/62, could it actually be closer to 1/72 now? -
Definitely put me down for a 1-a TV Max!!!!!!!
-
I remember reading rumors of possible non-canon repaints of the -19, has any new info been put out about that?
-
I'm all about scale, including mixing mecha from various series. I feel that same scale mecha in various heights and sizes make for a more dynamic display with greater depth, and giving the feel of a miniaturized mecha museum. As somebody who works on Super Hornets, I often go to NAS Fallon in Nevada where I see varied and different jets with radical differences in sizes and always love to see the differences in size and shape, which accentuates each design through contrast in form. But that's just me

So is that last image on the second page confirmation of a defender being the next one? I really would have been surprised if it hadn't been made.
-
Hmmm, while we're on the subject of non-Yamato Patlabor schwag, is there anything new about the W.H.A.M. 1/48 Helldiver? Isn't it due to be released this month?

Official 1/60 YF-21 News & Picture Thread (ver.2)
warrhead replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
What am I doing wrong with the head? The instructions for collapsing the nose and separationg the head are terrible. Now the head will not rotate completely out and the nose won't collapse and it's stuck like that. WTF? -
A Full lineup of Orguss toys in 1/48 scale Hey, you never asked what Macross toys I'd like to see Yamato make...
-
Wait, I don't have time to re-read the last 10 pages, so is it confirmed that Bandai will be producing toys for this show?
