  1. Gubaba - I think that you, and all the other people at that concert - are now my least-favorite people in the entire world.... Sigh... Time to go drink myself to sleep in sadness and envy... G-glad you... *sniff*... had s-such a... *sniff* *sob*... good time......
  2. Topless Robot has offered what I think is some of the most-insightful coverage on the film currently on-line: http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/06/bonus_...mers_2_faqs.php
  3. Sweet! Thanks!
  4. That's odd. He said he'd missed posting it a while back, and just put it up. Maybe he inadvertently re-posted it...
  5. Very nice! Haven't downloaded it yet myself yet, though. (Might require the Pepakura viewer...) http://www006.upp.so-net.ne.jp/zen/P_Craft...S_Download.html
  6. I don't have a lot of documentation of my small cel collection, but here's a couple from my Macross-related cels: The lovely Chlore, Meltrandi commander of the Fleet of Strongest Women, cel & genga: And the Zentraedi battleship that nearly ended Space War One for the wrong side in DYRL (with screen capture of scene): Best of all, each cel was like $5. The DYRL cel was mis-identified as a Pokemon monster! I'm also into other shows. I just picked up a nice lot of Dougram cels via eBay. They're in-transit now, but here an auction pic of my favorite - a Soltic Roundfacer Korchima Special going kablooie! I also have this unusual G1 Transformers item: This is a "model/approval" cel, created at Sunbow Studios and provided to Hasbro, for approval on the animated design for the Searchlight character, which appeared briefly in the post-TF:TM Transformers TV series: ...This is hand-painted, but the image is xerography, presumably from a hand-drawn reference. From Hasbro's files, and includes revision and approval stamps. I've got another of the character/toy "Cloudraker", but no images of it handy. It's pretty large, too - like 11" x 17" or so.
  7. I USED to own the Storm Attacker one. That's in XSTOYS' collection now. HE is the one who HAS to make posters of them!
  8. Reads like a translation from bablefish...
  9. Because they'll be victims of my seething jealousy, that's why. They got to see Eva 2.0, and all I got to see was Bayformers: Regurgitation of the Fallow.
  10. Same thing here - wife & all (although I haven't seen Dark Knight yet). I can't subscribe to the 'dumb escapist fun' excuse, because I typically find I need to escape FROM Teh Dumb, rather than deeper into it. No one should feel bad hammering this crap pile of a movie, either. When you've consumed something, the more rotten it is, the longer and more violently you're likely to vomit.
  11. I didn't exactly expect 'kid friendly', but I didn't expect 'kid harmful', 'kid insulting' or 'kid offending', all of which this developmentally stunted exercise in exploitation cinema managed to do.
  12. I'll take the third choice. Honestly, I can't think of a thing to say about the movie that isn't negative, and isn't prefaced by the word "F|_|cking". Andrew nailed it in his Destroy All Podcasts ST review the other day. Actually, I think Ravage WAS the only thing I liked in the movie at this point, but mostly because I love cats, robot cats, and enjoyed seeing the same d4mn design in an auto commercial a couple of seasons ago. But even that was spoiled when , which utterly horrified my daughter who - after several years of decent quality Transformers storytelling does regard the characters as thinking, feeling, intelligent living machines, rather than disposable robots.
  13. Wow, that is cool!
  14. Heat shield is a canopy swap. Pop off the canopy, replace it with the heat shield. Like Bandai's recent 1/55 Valks.
  15. It would be nice if they'd at least roll-out the Lucifer. They'd get at least two variants out of it - the red one and the green ones.
  16. Oh, don't sweat that! You can always cut a replacement from plastic card, using the original as a pattern. Considering that you can find these FP sets dirt cheap, it really is only a minor - if annoying - issue, all things considered. (Even less so if your Valk will be wearing the FP in Battroid mode.)
  17. Very nice work! You've really brought out the best of the source material!
  18. Thanks for those details, MaveRick! I hope to use them as a guide to light my own 1/100 plastic kit. My local hobby shop has a nice assortment of LEDs, and the electronics shop at my TV studio can supply me with ribbon cable & some resistors. Its the skill I lack, so your work is a nice place to start from! Thanks!!
  19. Those were originally by Yellow Submarine, right? I've got their Nosjadeul-ger, and was thinking of getting a Destroid to make a little diorama with it...
  20. He's missing his groin armor, and belly armor and whole lower torso/lap are different. He's also missing the inner shoulder portions of his upper arm parts.
  21. Same here. I'd love to add working lights to the plastic kit. Would you please consider a detailed tutorial on your lighting setup?
  22. Dude, I'm so proud to own the plastic kit, but it utterly pales in comparison to your hand-made version of it. That's really a work of skill, genius and insight. Amazing, and inspiring!
  23. Thanks! But it looks good because John's kit is so damn amazing. He's 1/72, but oddly only slightly larger than Imai's old 1/100 plastic kit of Kamjin in armor - the "Armored Space Suit" kit. I'm still inclined to do the broken glass. I could tint and wait on a piece of clear resin scrap, but it might not react the same way, and the long-term I'm concerned about would be a couple years at least. He'll be standing as-is, but I'm thinking of a simple base with something like deck plating looking like the inside of a Zentraedi battleship. I think he looks a little tired, but satisfied at the end a long day of destruction...! I don't think I have any pieces of 1/72 Battroid scrap in my parts bin anymore... unless anyone out there has an old Imai kit arm or leg to spare.
  24. My Moscato kit of Kamjin - mostly primed and mostly ready for painting. I had a tiny bit of puttying left to do last night, and primer shots for a couple of the sub-assemblies: The lower legs and all the the arm element aren't glued (only dry-fitted here), and won't be until painted because I don't want to have to fight the armor flanges while painting the inner knee, elbow and shoulder areas. The magnetic attachment system for the alternate heads is working nicely http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=30321! Its taken me far too long to get to this point, due only to limited building time. (John's kit really is so clean and well thought-out that it doesn't require much work other than cutting away the molding channels.) It also inspired me to get some nice Mr. Resin Surfacer (great stuff!) and upgrade my filler putty stock to Tamiya products John suggested, which I can apply later to the Yellow Sub DYRL Nosjadeul-Ger waiting on the shelf. I'm wondering what to do with the helmet's clear faceplate. I'm concerned that I might not tint it properly, and that it will cloud over time and obscure John's great sculpting in the helmet. I'm thinking I might just take half of it, or a corner, and make it look like the remains of glass smashed out in battle - resulting in the cut-like texture on his face near his nose. I'll have to decide on that pretty soon, since my plan is to start painting him this weekend.
  25. Hey - credit the creator, and his excellent website (with lots of great Muv Luv stuff, too)! http://jilpoong17.egloos.com/
