  1. Well, I'm not the type to know what aircraft is stationed where, and how many, or if they're in service or not. But on the way home from work tonight, I had the chance pleasure of seeing an F-14 flying overhead during the dusk "touch n go's" at MCAS Miramar. It was too dark, and my angle was wrong in order to see the markings. All I know is that it was definitely an F-14, and not one of the multitude F-18's I see flying out of there. Twas a nice site to see.
  2. Kind of wondering the same thing. Really surprised someone hasn't thought to do this yet.
  3. I find it really surprising that we haven't seen any blogs or links that show off tons of 1/48 customs. Where's all the fun at?!?! I remember the 1/72's having a ton of modelling groups making custom paint schemes, mode types, etc. but have yet to see any for these newer kits. What gives?!
  4. Man, I'm giving you a Wi-Five on that one. /slap
  5. While the trailers look AMAZING, sadly they aren't the gameplay footage. Actually go and look up gameplay footage from E3, and I'm sure you'll feel just as unimpressed as I do right now. Not thrilled, and not buying it unless they make drastic improvements.
  6. I'm sure the almighty Kawamori would want his fighters to run "green".
  7. I have to totally agree with you on this. It feels more "real" than a VF-1, and the VF-0S looks a little too cartoony with the Roy type markings. Perhaps if they did a low vis grey version of the Zero S it would look more "real" as well. I could see this on carriers easily.
  8. Why settle for 1/72? They're on to making 1/48's now, so why not go all the way with the VF-11?!
  9. I hope they went back and tightened everything up. My 0A was loose as hell. I keep it packed away now with all my other broken or near broken valks.
  10. Only if they fix the molds. The last couple of 1/48's that I've bought have been all kinds of loose and plagued with stupidity. The ones that I bought when the molds were "fresh", years and years ago were not like this.
  11. A TIE Defender would be awesome. But as far as the designs go for the TIE games, I really dug the TIE Advanced (not the Vader version) and the Assault Gunboat. Those would make some great additions to the toy fleet.
  12. Heh, the bottom two ships look like side profiles of the YF/VF-21/22. or aligators......
  13. OMG! Those things are abominations!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!
  14. Sorry, I'd say no higher than 300. It's not like it has a complex transformation. Sure, it has details and whatnot, but is that in itself worth a 500 price tag? Not IMO. Maybe if it was all lit up by LED's and had various sound effects...... But my guess is that thats not something Yamato would do.
  15. If they decided to do anything else in 1/48, I would hope they'd consider doing something other than the VF-1. It's been done to death. Leave the VF-1 to the 1/60 v.2 line. Personally, I wouldn't mind if they took a stab at making a better sculpted YF/VF-19, 21/22 and VF-11. The latter with CORRECT tailfins and functionality. Overall, I'd like to see Yamato get into variants we have yet to see. Rehashing the same thing over and over again is getting boring.
  16. $2k? Go to hell Yamato. I quit. Anyone wanna buy some 1/48's? This pretty much puts the final nail in my collecting coffin. 2k..... What the hell are they thinking.........seriously.....
  17. Already being talked about HERE
  18. Or just be patient and wait for Hasegawa to release there's.
  19. No kidding. Those old 1/48 kits were beautiful in their own right, but still had some minor flaws IMO. I'm not saying Hasegawa's are 100% perfect, but with CAD designing these days the "accuracy" is getting better and better. I had so much fun building the 1/72 kits, and I can't wait for the 1/48's. I just hope they release every option they've done so far and more. To add to the comment above, I'm also hoping that they don't release the kit as a single variant (IE: VF-1A only). I'm really hoping that they release the kits with all the head types (A,J,S). And as a side note: I can't wait to see what everyone builds. Especially Captain and WM Cheng.
  20. Beautiful kit!!
  21. You know what has me irked? All this time, and Hasegawa has yet to produce even a 1/72 kit of the VF-11. What gives?!?!?! I love that they did the VF-1 and YF-19......I just really hope that there's an 11 coming up sometime soon.
  22. Oh hell yes!! Now bring on the weapons set like the 1/72 series!! These new 1/48's are going to be so fun to build and customize!! WOOO!!!!!!!
  23. Wow, thats really smart and nice of them! Sweet!
  24. Sounds like someone needs to stick with their Toynami "Fisher-Price My First Valkyrie" toys. Or maybe just give up on any and all transforming toys.
  25. Is the VF-11C shown not the "Pink Peckers"? If you look at the head in the gerwalk poses, you can see the pink head stripe. And if you look closely at the Battroid pics, you can barely see the little pink arrows. The only pic I can find of the "Pink Peckers" squad is from HERE and shows it as all pink, but I don't remember them being all pink in the show.
