STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
Fatalist replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm really digging what they're doing with this line http://www.toyzmag.com/2014/10/star-wars-encore-de-nouvelles-figurines-tamashii-nations/ -
Give or take on the music, but there's some amazing shots in this video

How can you look at that box-art and think "nope, gerwalk is fugly". Love that art, and want to see the finished product!
-
The fourth pic in this thread from the OP, I believe at the bottom of that pic is the Hasegawa announcement for the 1/72 Gerwalks, but I could be wrong. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40713&page=27

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2

Exactly my thoughts on this. I mean, the thing is pretty huge, but not worth 35 bucks. 10 maybe. Not even sure it's worth trying to customize. -

STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
Fatalist replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I saw this first hand at my local TRU, and I gotta say, what a waste of plastic!!!! They want 35 bucks for a lump of plastic that doesn't do anything. The wings don't even articulate! The only moving parts on the whole thing are the nose landing skid, and the removeable R2D2. On the bright side, the more recent X-wings (FX mold) are on clearance for roughly the same price as this. -
Robotech Academy - You want a new Robotech series...?
Fatalist replied to Einherjar's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree with most of that. What would be smart, is to clear staff, and then have HG either sell off the rights to someone that can actually do something with it, or fly to Japan and work out a deal that see's Macross as a worldwide release with HG as minority partners. HG could sell Arcadia and Bandai products and vids and everyone would be happy. HG could have seperately designed RT boxes for their Valks if they wanted, so the RT fans would be happy.- 2025 replies

All I know is that people have failed a lot less than Yune and Co. and been fired for it. So why the hell are they still being allowed to push their 1/4-assed ideas? I actually kinda feel bad for the RT fanbase, this is bordering on mental anguish.- 2025 replies

Has HG even attempted to try and make nice with the Macross powers in Japan? Seems like the obvious solution for all their Macross/Robotech woes. Make nice with Japan, work out a distribution deal not only for the toys, but current and future animations. Work it out to have some items branded as both Macross/Robotech and make everyone happy! I'm sure Japan wants absolutely nothing to do with HG though, and I don't blame them. In the end, if HG can't seem to do anything worthy with the "license", they should sell it off and focus on stuff they are actually good at. I'm reading updates here and there on this Kickstarter, and am just amazed at the overwhelming smell of douche and desperation that's coming from it.- 2025 replies

Does anyone build Hasegawa Valkyries anymore??
Fatalist replied to erikos0311's topic in The Workshop!
I went through some boxes and ran across a handful of my old Hasegawa's. A couple Super/Strike kits, an Elintseeker, a few regular 1J/A/S kits, a YF-19 and about 3 weapons packs. I plan on building some after I move again. I also need to go buy new glue and paints and decide how I'm going to paint them. -
That settles it. I need to get this kit. And OT for a sec, seeing that Hase 25 in the other thread settles it for me getting that one as well. Off to research best prices!

Nice! Looks like it could easily be painted/modded to look like a Warhammer 40k bolter. I'm down!

Almost Human - New SF TV series for next season.
Fatalist replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's a decent show, but I'm waiting for the story to kick in. So far it's just them running around solving crimes etc. with a few drops and hints of the actual story and "big bad" for the season. I couldn't believe it when I saw Crystal Method does some of the soundtrack, and the latest episode had a newer Gary Numan song playing at the beginning. I'm keeping my eye on it for now. Since it's on Fox and it's Sci-Fi, if it ever gets popular, I'm sure they'll just dump it in the Friday night death slot and kill it. Typical Fox protocol.- 36 replies

I whole heartedly agree with this lineup. If not releasing schemes, at least do a couple various colored plastic releases to make our own. I'm still kicking myself for selling off my 1/48 grey Low Vis. Loved that scheme.

That's what happened to my 0A during a transformation. Luckily I was able to look at info here and fix it. But it stays in the box now.
