    As I had written before, each colony could be independent jurisdictions based on trademark/patent/copyright law, and registering at the trademark/patent offices in every colony is difficult.

    I myself liked the fighters, as they look like VF-31A's with VF-19 noses. I guess whoever designed them was a Macross fan.

    It should be because of colonial mentality, where the indigenous people of colonized lands quickly adopt the colonizer's imports, culture, etc. as they see it as "superior" to local stuff.

    Why not jam them like what they did to the Vajra fold waves in Frontier? If Chuck's VF-31E has EW systems equivalent to Luca's RVF-25, then it could be done.

    Rocket engines have a hot exhaust, and that is what flame-resistant lining for launch pad flame trenches is for. That is just for chemical rockets, nuclear rockets like those used by the Elysion would have hotter exhaust, and that is why I think it was better that they fired their engines over water than land. Better have mercats burned alive than city infrastructure.

    Not all the time you need the latest VF, especially they are more expensive and upgrading existing designs might be more cost effective in certain cases. Just see real life aircraft, the F-5 and MiG-21 are both older designs than the F-16, MiG-29, F/A-18, etc. but upgrades to them allow them to be kept in service up to this day.
